Landmark Terrain: Chasm

The only prob then becomes that hills and mountains will have to share the resources. You cannot say a resource can appear on a tile, but not the LM version of the tile.

ALTHOUGH with mountains and hills being so similar, it shouldnt be too big of a problem.

Not a problem, especially since it's for scenarios not random maps, so all resources are up to you!

i agree with Straczynski, would this be possible for u to make a rocky desert / rocky hill to use for LM tile.

Also, if u put a version of your chasm with desert around (and not grassland as u made) i'd find the use for it.

i really need it for tiedge1 mystara mod map, but i don't see for now how to do it myself.

By the way, if u feel u can explain me how u done, or if u know of a thread explaining this, i would have a debt for u.

what is the meaning of ToT (fantasy scenario) you're talking of ?

The green is the grassland "base" terrain. You have the same effect around mountains, and as this is just a strange-looking mountain it can't be done.

I have no idea what you mean in that first sentence.

Test of Time is a expansion pack to civ 2.

i was just asking if you can explain / give guidelines on how to modify a graphic terrain tile for Civ3, or if u know of a thread which explain this.

Essentially, if i had understand well, the main difficulty seems to stay in the original color palette ( i'm not used to this function ), and keep transparency.

Example, i take any image, and modifiy it to make a new graphic tile, ... , then, i just cut and paste over moutain tile (for instance), then verify limit for transparency and save as a *.pcx ?

all is good ? i'm sure that's not so easy.

Considering that i already pass my time making specific map, i don't feel like beginning terrain tile modding without serious hints on how to approach the problem.

maybe you should look for a tutorial of editing terrain (this Thread isn't the right place) , but in your palette must be color 255,0,255 on ID 255 (PaintShop) or on ID 0 (PhotoShop).
The color 0,255,0 must be on ID 254 (Paintshop) or on ID 1 (Photoshop) . The rest of the colors are free changeable

Vadus, that's only partly correct. The important thing is the placement of the transparent colour in the palette, but it doesn't matter whether it's magenta or green or something else, as long as it's not used in the picture.
