Leaderhead Requests

Nazi or Wermacht? cause i think are two different things.

He was officer of the Wehrmacht, the rest is not fully clear. He was in the registered in the Nazi SA mounted corps, but he allways denied he ever signed in there hisself.

Can I request a Michael Collins leaderhead? I'm making a new Ireland civ and I'm only getting to grips with XML so far. I'd say a reskinned Stalin minus the moustache would look well, with a green uniform. He doesnt have much defining features really just that he was mostly in the green uniform and he was a pretty big guy. Also if theres somebody actually interested, a version of the Adanauer LH with glasses would be an excellent Eamonn DeValera likeness. I'm sure those interested in Irish history would greatly appreciate the choice betwen Collins and Dev... Also DeValera was Taoiseach during the Second World War so he would fit into those scenarios.

Looking into the download section before requesting would have saved you some time :P

Collins by C.Roland

Oh right my bad  No offense to the creator, but he doesn't really look like Collins at all. Looks a bit... demented. I'll download it anyway and give it a go. Would it be difficult to add FDRs galsses to the Adanauer LH? I'm sure theres a tutorial somewhere I could give it a go myself.

I want this dude right here for my Albanian Civ.

I'm thinking we also need Oliver Cromwell...

Spoiler :

There's an evil English leader for you, especially if you're Irish. Anyway, I think he should have a stern look, like a ruler-ready nun.

Without a doubt, one of his traits should be Spiritual! Those silly Puritans...

Hehehehehe... why not?

Ja, ist das fantastisch überpresident of America!

Actually, I think somebody made a Conan LH... so if you were to rework the hair and clothes and stuff...

Anyway, he definitely needs custom texts!

"I'll be back."

The Wehrmacht was the German Army, just another division of the Nazi government. I don't see how you could view "Nazi" as different from the Wehrmact, SS, SA, Luftwaffe, etc.

any recommendations on which current civ4 leaderheads to base him on?

I think Rosewelt would work - the general head shape is the same. Edit nose, chin and hair - all more or less safe - not too many bones in play - with a good texture he should look quite similar.

Unfortunately Rosewelt is one of the most (ab-)used LH's...

The SS and the SA have been Nazi organisations before the Nazis took over the goverment. They were recruited only from voluntary members of the NSDAP (the Nazi party). That's why the SS and SA have been special forces. The Wehrmacht was the name of the regular german army and had originally nothing to do with the NSDAP. Most soldiers in the Wehrmacht have been draftees with a few professional soldiers. These draftees didn't need to be members of the NSDAP. Civilians who tried to refuse to serve in the Wehrmacht where declared deserters. The Luftwaffe (german air force) was part of the Wehrmacht with more professional soldiers. So, there is a difference.

No actually, you say originally that the Wehrmacht had nothing to do with the Nazi party, way to state the obvious, it was transformed into the army of the Nazi Germany. The "original" Wehrmacht was the Army of Germany, they're two separate things regardless if they have the same name. The SS, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, Wehrmacht, whatever the hell you want to call them were all a part of the Nazi Government. It doesn't matter if civilians who weren't members of the Nazi party were drafted into it, it was a part of the Nazi organization in the Second World War. To say it was not is absurd.

No, actually armies are specifically organized not to be part of any goverment. This to prevent them from using they power to impose a dictatorship. This is why the Nazi needed those "special forces" - SS, SA - in the first place - to impose control on the country and on the Wehrmacht.

Not saying whe Wehrmacht was completely "clean".
But all countries have armies. Goverments come and go, armies stay and are trained to function without questioning the orders - i.e. among the lower ranks - back then same as in present days.
The mere fact of beeing a soldier of the Wehrmacht (or beeing a worker in a military equipment plant, or beeing a baker, who made a bread to a soldier, ...) does not automatically make someone a Nazi.

The question why the Leading Officers did not rise against the Nazi goverment is another and a difficult one. In fact some of them did and failed. While some others probably were indeed convinced Nazis.

That said...
I dont think a officer could have been "registered in the Nazi SA mounted corps" without his knowledge, so he at least did not voiced up against it.

By that logic, Dutch King is a card-carrying Republican and loves George Bush.

Stick to making models DK... knowledge of history is not your strong point.

The difference is quite big, whether you serve voluntary with the will to strengthen the spezial party, or if you are drafted into an army with a gun on your head. I am not sure, what I would do, if someone would say to me "Take this uniform, take this rifle and move your ass into the train, or you will be declared deserter and be shoot." That's why nowadays germans have the right to refuse to be drafted by law, what they did not have back then.

If anyone makes a Reagan, we need a Margaret Thatcher for him!

As others told to you, SS and SA were politics organizations like italian Camice Nere (Black Shirts). The army is an organization of the country and serve the government that people choise (even if sometimes some high members of the army could help this or that leader). In that time the army service was NOT voluntary, and in that time who had a study title (scholar title), very often was an officer. I don't think that Sven Hassel was a Nazi... :p

http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sven_Hassel Even if there are doubts about his romances and his life!

I finally have some requests: :D
They don't have to look exactly like the following pictures (taken from civ 3 and CivArmy's NextLevelMod, but some kind unique: ;)

King David of Israel (I know there is one version of Ekmek, but it looks to close to Charlemagne in my opinion)

Smoke-Jaguar of the Mayans

King Salomon of Israel
