I often play with still leaderscreens, and Harun's does little for me. Nothing awful, but nothing amazing either.

Askia is simple a top tier leaderscreen for me. Aesthetically awesome.

I love Venice, Most serene city of Venice,
Boudicca's one look pretty constrained. With wall, weapon and all that.

Montezuma - 25 Yes, another vote for Montezuma. Some feel that he's too animated, but a lot of other leaders (Gandhi, Haile, Pocatello, Isabella) have been downvoted for not being animated enough. I'd rather have an active and entertaining leaderscreen.
Theodora - 22 Theodora is basically Catherine 2.0. Her screen is more interesting and her movements are less robotic, but her bride-of-Frankenstein hair and arrogant lounging pose have always irritated me.

Pachacuti - 24 - One thing that I always found weird about this screen is how small and negligible Pachacuti seems. I guess it's because he is mostly sitting on a small throne in the corner of the screen, so we end up with a problem similar to that of Ahmad from Morocco. Yes, the city is beautiful.....perhaps too beautiful, to the point the leader becomes almost a non-factor.
Gajah Mada - 23
Pacal - 20
Maria I - 21
Askia - 11

Shaka - 21 - A warmongering civ doesn't need a straight-forwardly intimidating screen. Shaka acts much less aggressively than Monty, but you still get the message.

Harun al-Rashid - 15
Ashurbanipal - 26
Maria Theresa - 10
Montezuma - 19 - Montezuma has become too much of a charicature of the real Aztecs. It's like giving Pocatello a huge feather hat, make him dance around a totem pole while waving his stone axe around.
Theodora - 22
Dido - 18
Boudicca - 18

MARIA I
Sure, it may not be the starry night sky that most CivFanatics like, and it may not be the big, grand leaderscreen that some other leaders have, but this leaderscreen is still one of the best. Everything in this leaderscreen just fits with everything else, from the colours, to the aesthetic, the music, the composition, the layers - everything just comes together so beautifully to create a delightfully charming leaderscreen which perfectly represents the Portugal Civ. It's not the shiniest Civ, nor is it the grandest, most overpowered, but all of it's elements just come together so smoothly, so seamlessly, and it creates a delightful Civ to play as. Truly, this is a leaderscreen which accurately represents the Civ it is attached to.

MONTEZUMA
Oww, look at me, I'm Montezuma! I'm flailing around, screaming about sacrificing captives while standing in front of a skull-filled background!
Yeah, no.

I never got the love for this leaderscreen. Sure, it's not bad, it's above average, but it's not that great. When I saw Monty the first time, flailing about like crazy, talking even crazier, it gave me a chuckle. But after seeing it over and over again, it really just got annoying. It's over-exaggerated to the point of being just plain silly. The dark lighting also subtracts somewhat from the experience, but not too much. Some people like the raving crowd in the background, but with how loud it is it can really be hard to hear Monty's theme music. My biggest complaint would have to be that the background is just completely bland; couldn't have had some more colours in there? It's a good screen, just not good enough when compared to some of the other leader's screens.

As others have pointed out, with how much of a stereotype/caricature/cartoon-ish he is, I don't know whether to be annoyed, or offended. Probably both.

Monty, you know he's a warmonger the moment you see him, a bit cartoonish but a small amount of humor is good in a game like this. Perfect for a warmonger.

Shaka, although there are worse offenders, which have already been eliminated his demeanor isn't all that intimidating, I don't share some peoples nostalgia over the guy, it's not terrible, but shouldn't be as high as it is now.

I've given Askia 6 (7?) upvotes, and am surprised at how many people think poorly of his screen, but at this point I feel like giving him my upvote is just a waste. So I'm going with Shaka today. I don't like playing as him, and I don't like playing against him, but I do love his leaderscreen.

His screen has everything I like: an outdoor scene that suggests the environs of the civ, a unique color palette, interesting cultural details (the shelter design, the skulls).

Downvote goes to Harun al-Rashid. Although I like Africa and Arabic civs to play, even I admit Harun's screen is on the weaker side (I'm surprised he survived longer than Ahmad).

Austria -3: Honestly, as shallow as this sounds I just don't like looking at an old fat lady who speaks with a pretentious sounding voice. Other than that the background is beautiful

Maya +1: From the badass head gear to the scenic panorama-esque city in the back, it's just a pleasant leaderscreen overall

Askia: His screen give off a vibe of power, yet his facial expressions when neutral or friendly are quite warm and inviting. You can see that he actually seems like a good guy, but you also know that he will not hesitate to use force should you not appreciate his hospitality.

Harun: I'm going to sit on this throne and barely move at all, even if you declare war on me. I might point at you at most.
Seriously, unless they re-do the leader screens and give him an animation that makes him stand up and swing his sword at you, this probably is the most boring of them all. At least Gus was a jolly fellow despite his wrong looks.

Monty seems to have lost his luck. Anyway, he's melodramatic...
Pachacuti: I've run out of things to say. Let's just say it's a beautiful screen I never tire of seeing.

Haile Selassie - 15 - mostly due to his voice. I am fine with his passiveness in peaceful screens, but his declaration of war and reaction to DoW sound silly to me. It's like he wants to sound angry, but his voice is too quiet and high-pitched for that.

Haile Selassie was actually known for having a very low and serene voice tone. In his court, he was infamous for the habit of giving orders in a voice tone so low that his servants usually had to guess what he was saying. For this and the accuracy of his palace, I vote for Ras Tafari Makonnen.

On the other side, I must downvote Maria I. At this point her screen is no longer special and I can't forgive the chronological imprecision of its elements. Her score is only high because of the sole insistence of Talcove in upvoting her with the same justifications.

Harun : Not awful, but not very good either. Pretty easily the worst leaderscreen left. Time to go !

Shaka : Awesome voice acting, awesome attitude, solid background, what's not to like ?

Hmm. People are sort of bandwagon-voting at this point. I'm curious whether a lot of Monty-haters were holding back their anti-Monty votes until later in the standings, or if everyone's just downvoting because they see a lot of red.

Harun al-Rashid - 6
Ashurbanipal - 27 Throwing my support behind Ashurbanipal. Beard-fist! Plus he's got a cool palace and is more imposing than the other Mesopotamian rulers.

Whoa, now people want to kill Harun for some reason. Yes, he is passive. But he isn't the type of leader to let his emotions control him. Harun is pictured as wise leader and it looks perfectly.

Monty is a caricature of himself. "Hello! I love killing people. Let's kill people together. What? You don't want to kill people? I KILL YOU!!!"

Harun Al-Rashid was more of a scholar, so hardly the sort to spaz out when declaring war (kinda like Ashuranipal.)

On the other hand, Harald Bluetooth was a Viking. Let's not just sit around, people!
