Lessons on Epics: Washington

VoU : you're building (meaning amassing hammers) a granary?
and you're unhealthy? time to whip!

washington is unhappy? time to whip!
Philadelphia is happy and healthy, so it's not that urgent to whip, but what do you need the lighthouse for?

What diplomatic options do you have with alex?

how many workers do you have?

how many troops/what kind?

I agree that the whip is imperative.

The war is started with Qin, therefore finish him (if possible).

The war with Askoka will be unavoidable, but if Alex wants to use your backside for a spear holder, then that's the greater evil, and as such the primary target. If Alex goes for someone else, then Askoka should be rolled back...

Seeing your struggles, I know why I stick to noble (but made a couple cracks at Prince with Hatty).

BTW: for those hanging on an update, Real Life has captured most of my discretionary time; it will likely be a while before the next update.

Where does Sisutil find the time to keep up the pace? Wow

he must be a fast player
i don't even have time to just play the game! So building all those neat shots and stories would require 48 h/day!

I don't have any children.

If you want to be a devoted Civ player, you just have to find a way to get rid of the kids. I hear divorce works. Sure, you'll be alone, miserable, and penniless--and you'll probably die that way--but think of all the extra time you'll have to play the game! ;)

I never married period. I'd like to change that, but I need to stop playing Civ IV long enough to go out looking for a wife...

I need High speed and time to play some MP...

I started playing a shadow game last night, and I have been running into an Intense amount of barbarians. I've been seeing like 4 or 5 at time every 5 turns or so from the southeast. I don't know if you have run into this many, but it is making it hard to accomplish anything else.

I encountered the same during my shadow game (which I didn't finish, had to focus on the ALC).

But I went after BW right away and founded my 2nd city by the copper to the west, so I was pumping out Axes like there was no tomorrow. More of them got Combat I and Shock promotions than City Raider, which is the inverse of what I usually do, to handle the barbs, which they did quite ably. I left several of them parked in the forest and hills along the south. I was able to capture a barb city to my east and, eventually, take down Alexander to my west.
