Let's discuss ASMR Videos

I don't mind releasing some of the tension I carry around with me now and then with the help of desirable company. Granted, haven't tried the gloves, but more power to you if they help!

Any discussion of ASMR videos is incomplete without mentioning Bob Ross, the pioneer of relaxation through a combination of sound and visuals. Bob Ross and his "happy trees" have probably helped more people achieve blissful slumber than all the current YouTube ASMR entrepreneurs combined.


I've been watching Bob Ross since I was a kid, never fails to make me doze off. Take this embedded video, for example. If you aren't feeling drowsy by about 10 minutes in, you must have drank too much coffee or something. :p
 
I've watched so much Bob Ross. Highly recommend. Even better if you get an episode where he plays a clip of his house squirrels.
 
Heheh! I forgot about that. I do still occasionally use, "Can she run really fast in high heels?"
 
This one is much better than any of the others, I promise. As with other ASMR stuff, it's best with headphones and the volume should be fairly loud.

Those gloves are definitely creepy. Actually not so much the gloves on their own, more their combination with the "one digit proudly extended" pose.

Just interested in this part, but what does directional sound mean? I mean my understanding is that I only have two ears, and each ear individually has no capability to discern the direction a sound is coming from. Stereo is the best my brain can cope with. So if I have a speaker jammed in each ear, in what way can they do anything extra to give me any more sense of directionality?

You've never done the hearing test where they ask you to raise your left or right hand to indicate which ear you hear the beep?

That kind of ASMR doesn't do anything for me. But I do appreciate binaural audio. (no, not binaural beats, believe me I've tried that it's a bunch of pseudoscience hippie healing crystal homeopathic bull)

 
The only part of ASMR videos that piss me off is when they talk. The less talking the better.

I could write a paragraph explaining it, but it's easier to just listen to this.


But also here's the paragraph. It's also called soundstage in headphones, and allows you to hear the direction audio is coming from. For example, you could hear footsteps in CS:GO or similar and instantly pinpoint the walker's location. You can do this in stereo mode without relying on gimmicky surround sound features in "gamer headsets". You could hear a car drive by recognize and it's driving behind you, from right to left. You could hear a sharp clap of thunder that then rolls from the left to the right. Provided that it is a) recorded correctly, by two microphones close together (simplistic) and b) output correctly through quality headphones.

Well... no I haven't. What's that supposed to be testing? But also that's just stereo which I already said was a thing.
 
Watching a girl blow kisses at "you" and a porn girl are for different purposes? Don't believe it. You may not wank to the former but it still seems to be to be some sort of emotional fulfillment human-caring substitute that is within your control (kind of, you can't alter the kisses or elicit a unique response but you also risk not rejection or intimacy or self-revelation.

Perhaps I'm totally misunderstanding.

Yes I know in today's world straight male heterosexuality is demonized and evil and all that. But people are just going to have to learn to deal with it. Those of us who won't cower to feminists aren't going to pretend that certain women don't turn us on. And those pictures are hot. Although I don't care for the gloves, LOL. It looks like she's preparing to put those fingers someplace I don't want them to go. I haven't seen a video like this with kissing. Some are more "romantic" than others. Others play it up more for more views, but some take their jobs seriously and don't do the GFE. If I want GFE I'll go to a strip club or whorehouse, I don't want that. I certainly don't watch these videos for sexual reasons. Actually I haven't watched any in about a year. Some I liked, but some irritated me. I can usually get the tingling feeling once in a video, although some don't do anything at all. I tried listening to them while doing other tasks, but that's too distracting. You really have to focus your attention on them. As it is, I just don't have enough hours in the day to watch much of these.

But I may check out the videos mentioned above. I may want to give them another try. I could always use a relaxation technique. I tried mindfulness meditation, but I can't seem to do it. I have no clue how to meditate. I'd rather "meditate" to these hot women. I'm kidding of course. I'd be lying by saying the girl's cuteness isn't important. But to me it's not really romantic (I don't get an... you know that word I can't use here). It's more of a motherly thing than anything. Like how a mother might whisper to her newborn child. I think that's why people respond to it like they do. They are remembering their mother whispering to them as a baby.

As for Bob Ross, I don't get much ASMR from him, I just really dig his art. But it certainly helps he has a calm voice.
