Like Father, Like Son

With weight gaining, losing hair, having to pay more taxes, yeah, but not with your brother killing almost 60 people, imo. One might say it is crazy to joke at such a thing.
So what, in your opinion, should his reaction have been?

"I'm so ashamed of my brother, and in atonement, the rest of my family will turn ourselves in to serve 60 life sentences in his place and/or will volunteer to be executed (whichever may apply in that state)" - would that be preferable?

As @Traitorfish once famously said:

You guys realise that there's an aesthetic space between the Stepford Wives and Frankenstein's monster, right?

Pop culture answers are meaningless. How about a real answer?

It was pop culture until it was mixed in the marxist's mouth. Look into it directly for the answer instead of pontificating? :D (come on, you surely get my point, ie that no one expects his brother to atone, but how the hell is he joking about the journalists making less money than his mass killer brother? Maybe if he is drunk; i can't know, haven't been drunk since i was 17)

What I'm saying is that he exhibits the signs of having been drinking, had a hangover, and was faced with a slew of microphones in his face from obnoxious journalists who were trying to get him to tell them what they wanted to hear.

Obviously I don't know if the above speculation is true, but it's the most logical conclusion I can come to based on what I saw in the video and my personal experience of dealing with alcoholics.

The best response would have been to say nothing at all and to give no TV interviews. Television news about private individuals is about the easiest to find element that will glue eyeballs to the TV. For many, many stories, that is about embarrassing the person on camera. It isn’t about deep investigations into what went on.

Joking about a recent nasty occurrence isn’t crazy. It is completely normal. It is, in some cases, healthy and positive to makes those kinds of jokes.

Making jokes isn't rational, but rationality is not what the mind calls for in response to stuff like this.

people react in all sorts of ways, better to avoid making assumptions and project onto them...

oh wait, this thread kinda does that ;)

I think we can safely deduce that he acted that way because he hates women.

This line of reasoning seems like it will be relevant in other discussions. I'm making a note of it :)

Okay, whatever :dunno: . Just making a point that it's a little ridiculous for people to cry "conspiracy!" just because the shooter didn't have a criminal record.

Although I am starting to find it weird that you are following me into every thread now...
