The news that the Lasombra leaders had been hearing was most disturbing, only a day since Memnon and his Azani escorts had left the town of Bramla had they received reports about attacks upon clan members and the most harrowing an entire village burnt to the ground, the attacks were rumoured to be by the DeVir according to a few survivors.
Father we must act now! There have already been numerous attacks and the village of Damot has been destroyed, our people cry out for revenge!
Ivan mentally sighed the boy would never rest till he had his way; he wants action not the truth of the matter and I fear before long he will ignore my decisions for those of his own.
Silence Vladimir, this does not make sense Memnon and the Azani spoke of peace and unity the other clans were already with him he said
It was a trick to let our guard down then they strike at our hearts!
Memnon will still be in our lands, bring him before me I want to know the meaning of these attacks and if he had anything to with them

The talks had went well for Memnon, all of the leaders of the clans had agreed to cease their infighting and meet with the other leaders of the clans to talk of peace, to bury old scores.
It was a small step but one he thought he would never see in his life time, he had promised his father on his deathbed he would do all he can to end the ceaseless war in Malkavia. With night approaching Memnon and his guardians camped for the night, an unusual practice in Malkavia but with peace on the cards it was believed to be safe enough.
Memnon! Memnon! Wake up! My lord a band of men is approaching from the north the anxious Azani warrior shaked the startled Memnon while pointing in the direction of the approaching men.
Get off me you fool Memnon looked in the direction of band noting that they and his men were brandishing their weapons.

Without breaking stride the front man and obvious leader, even before he spoke, shouted back I am Vladimir, son of the great chieftain Ivan and by his words you Memnon are to be taken before him

With the sudden outburst distracting most of the men assembled one Azani warrior who didnt like the way this confrontation was going decided to seize the opportunity, his blade was too fast for the Lasombra warrior to react to, as the Azani yanked his sword free from the mans guts the battle had already started.
You Murderous Bastard! With that Vladimir launched himself at Memnon, his blow came down hard and fast but Memnon deflected the blow with his shield and it hit it with a thud, when he tried to strike out himself Vladimir had already darted away and was already swinging in on Memnons right.
Vladimir tore a gash on Memnons arm, Memnon continued to fight but it was readily apparent that Vladimir was the better swordsman and time was against him now, so instead of continuing upon this path he deflected the next attack and barrelled into Vladimir.
Filthy Azani scum you and the rest of the clans will pay for what youve done, My father and I shall make sure none of you are left alive Ignoring his talk Memnon continued to punch, finally reaching one of the swords Memnon finished off Vladimir.

You confuse much. Our alliance, the One Alliance, is a defensive alliance. We are going to war with the Gerbers because they have invaded a member nation. So hence, it is defensive. We are going to war with the Crystal Alliance from a request by Veritas. They have assisted us when we needed help, so we are just returning the favor. We do not hold the members of the alliance to follow our course. Second of all, we do not "coerce" any nation to follow our advice. We are merely suggesting ways to avoid war and asking for help.
as of now, we have no intentions of invading your homeland. If an allies asks for it, we may decide upon it. but we will follow Veritas's plan and help them with khermi. If you are there, then we shall fight. And by all means, scold as you wish. It doesn't really bother us that much. As a last point, we wish to know how you can win if it takes your entire alliance just to beat Veritas?
