To Tristaria
From Davar

Of course not. We just suggested that both of our forces be put under the command of one army, to make them work better. We meant no insult.

Oops, the stats I have saved on my computer say that your population is higher Kentharu.

I'll fix that.

Don't worry about Stats, worry about Updating

Just for your information, I take what's said in orders, not what's said on thread. It's getting to be too much here. I don't want to forget things and get you angry, so please PM me any order amendments rather than saying it on thread.

The King was now aging. His bear was grissled with grey hair. His hair was still long and blonde however, although it had faded over the years.

Although he was certainly old he was still strong and fit as all people in the region were. Said to have the gift of long life the King was a standing wonder to that affect.

His eyes were a deep blue and voice filled with charisma. Able to stir the most distrought soldiers to enflaming patriotism. The King still rode his ramid daily. He was powerful with his spear and sword. Adept at the bow as well.

He now stood in the capital. He came out of his housing and stood on the podium looking out at the wide crowd of people. He spoke stirrng words.

People of Myocaca we have come farther than anyone this day. We have fought tiring battles and ensued a vast empire.

We have founded cities and built armies. We have expanded and conquered. But although we may be a diverse people are we not all alike. Are we not all bound to the same cause.

We are all Myocacan and we are all free. We live together and fight together. We stand together and ride together.

We have brought a brotherhood with the Swade and move our conquests to the east against Emor and crushed the Imperialistic Veritas.

We have defied the power of the world.

We will build more cities. Build roads and markets. We will build ships. We will expand west and east. We will travel the seas and discover new lands. For are we not a great people.

We have come this far and fought thus far. We have not given in and we will never give in. We will always defy the impossible.

Never let people tell you that you are pathetic. Never let people tell you you can't achieve something great. Do not let people tell you that you are not proud. Never give in to the crushing oppressive powers.

We were built on this cause and we will forever be founded on this cause for freedom and independence.

I believe in not the absolute authority but the rights of the people. For what would we be if we were not free in ourselves. We would be nothing we would be no better than the oppressor.

I declare that this day will be founded a council of men who will be given power by the people.

I was chosen by God, they will be chosen by you. I will still hold my overall power of the army and war, but I believe power must be handed, in part, to the people.

We will not let any oppressor beat us down. You have rights. Fight for them. I am ready to die for your rights. I ask you will you die for your country. Will you die to defend the right to say "I am a free man!"

Fight with me die with me. Will you let Veritas or anyone else take that away from you?

I will always be with you! We are united! We are one! We are free! We will never give up! Never Surrender! Live Free or Die!

Death before dishonor! We are a dignified country. We are a dignified people. Stand with me. Make our lands fruitful. Make our lands known.

We have come this far. We can reach the stars.

Cacaaaah! Cacaaaah! Cacaaaaa!

The crowd cheered. The chanting of the kingdom rang out. A unified nation now stood before Fasra.

A people who would not put down their arms. Myocaca was united under God!

The Great Religion

“Don’t worry mum, I’ll be ok” Ashi said to his mother as he gripped her hands “Blue Face shall protect me, have no fear, for even if I die I shall be in the hall of Mirandi.”

“You keep save then Ashi, I know I can’t hold you here forever, but” his mother stopped for a moment, tears coming to her eyes.

“Do not cry mother, I do this for the glory of Dula and the Red Lady, for the Empire”

“Bah, the Empire fights wars in far away places and protects allies we know nothing of, why should you do anything for the Empire?”

“Because mother, the Empire fights to protect the Gorin way of life, the Lord Kaiser fights to ensure our great forges are protected, and that the great works of art that are the pride of the Empire” he leaned closer and whispered “that small bronze statue of Blue Face, that wouldn’t have been possible without Anthi Oborski”

“Yes yes I know” she said before finally sighing, giving up the battle to keep her son here. Just as all sons, they leave their parents to go off on their own and forge their lives. “But you remember your mother, and your father alright? Mind your manners, you don’t know how those barbarians to the north will act, and teach them well about Dula and the Red Lady my son”

“Mum they aren’t barbarians…”

“Bah foolishness, of course they are” his mother smirked and then pushed him a little “Well run along then”

“Alright alright, I’ll be careful” Ashi chuckled before picking up his waking stick and heading out towards a small dock on the Anthi River.

Ashi finally reached a small village on the out skirts of Croyodon. The people there were barbarians of sorts, they had no real religion but they were kind to him, inviting him into the village and giving him food.

“I am Ashi Batoma of the Gorinese Empire” he said with a smile, the people around him looked about, a bit scared “I come in peace please do not be afraid, I am no messenger from the Empire, simply a missionary”

Ashi pulled out a small bronze statue of Blue Face, the same statue his mother had cherished and held it up to the people of the village. They all gazed at it in wonder, some wanting to touch it.

“What is it?” one asked

“It is a statue of the god Blue Face, son of Dula and the Red Lady” Ashi said enthusiastically “They are the gods of the Crystal Ridge mountains”

Ashi then went onto explain the Masra religion, and the great Dula. He left the statue in the middle of the village and soon rumors of the statue and the great religion of Masra had spread throughout the near by villages. People from far away came to see the statue and to learn about Masra. If this pace kept up then a city might form because of the sheer numbers of people who came to visit it and some to stay or at least a large settlement near the Gorin border. Masra had already become the dominant religion in Gorin at it was spreading everyone, to the Shalamari, to Khemri, to Nkondi to Maugot.

History Channel: Death Machines ( :p )

Bronze clamps were fastened on the wooden planks of the catapult slowly but surely. The General had hoped these bronze clamps would strengthen the wood to stop it from snapping when high loads were added. The reason for this had been the rather large size of the catapult and in the time it was made. Because it was made in such a hurry and because of the Lord Kaiser’s love of big things, the technique for making the catapults effective in combat had not been perfected. The General felt rather ash that Gorin could have produced anything but high quality weaponry. This was a mistake that the General intended to fix, and quickly to.

Stronger ropes were added so that it would last longer after more than four throws without having to be replaced. This would allow for the catapult to be fired at least 5 times before replacement and increase the rate of fire, making it much more effective at attacking advancing troops and not giving them enough time to get back into formation. The second step to make the actual launching arm more flexible by treating it with oils and purposefully making parts of it weak. The brace arm, which the throwing arm hit in order to stop it (and hence throwing the rocks up and forward) was significantly strengthened by a special process in which the wood was burnt but quickly cooled in water. The wood would them be hammered, this would strengthen the wood just like it strengthened metal (it does work). It was also encased in bronze to make it even stronger. A sort of gear had also been implemented as a crank in order to lower the throwing arm into loading position. Manual lowering of this arm sometimes took as many as three men to lower. The wheels were made much larger to make it easier to move around and bronze spikes were driving into the wooden wheels, making for better traction in all kinds of ground. The catapults payload had also improved, carrying an assortment of large stones, bronze spiked balls, shrapnel and human heads. Some catapults even had bronze coated “hands” (the place where the payload was placed) so that heated objects could be placed in it with out burning it.

The General was very pleased with the changes to the catapults. He had created a splendid machine of death. he was, after all, the best at his job.

ooc yes i did just post twice on purpose just for my buddy alex ;)

For some odd reason I had alot of trouble writing the speech for this one. So it'll pretty much suck. Forgive me for I shall hopefully do better with the next story ;).

“I know you all expect me to stand here today and give yet another great patriotic speech demanding war. To stand up on this platform and hand-feed you all a bunch of pseudo facts that would support this war. To stand here and call upon each and every one of you to take up arms and defend the freedom of the east.

Too many on the council have claimed that our “allies” are in need of help. That they are in dire need of assistance, in dire need of help. But yet they fail to mention a word that these countries have existed for centuries prior to even our development. They have fought wars and won them on their own, with no assistance from whatever tribe that was ruling ancient Davar. So why do these people act if these countries would perish at the first sign of trouble? Both of those countries have armies larger than our own, stronger than what we could have even possessed.

Then there are those who claim peace is the only way. To stand up and take arms would be a mistake of drastic proportions, they claim. War would destroy our only chances of expansion, of growth for our people. To go to war, they shriek, would be against all principles that our current council stands for. After all we have just gotten out of a civil war: to fight again would stunt all growth we are beginning to achieve.

Both sides would love for me to support their views. Yet, I can not support either side, as they are both made of fools. To shy from war, and to beg for it, are both strategies that would lead to the demise of any people. But yet, I am forced to give my support for one side. The doves would greatly appreciate my support to their cause; to say that the council’s decision should be overturned and for the war to end. And, on the other hand, the hawks would jump at the chance of me saying that we have to go to war; that we have to answer the call to arms and fight.

But again, I am not here for that today. Because your fate had already been decided for you. The council has already voted to march upon the armies of the west, to take the fight back to the west where it belongs. Your fate in this conflict has already been decided; you shall fight and fight well if you wish to continue to fight for your country.

You might, still by the slimmest chance, wish for me to express my opinion. Despite all that has occurred over these years, I have refused to change from my principle. Much of you know of how I studied in my youth in Veritas and how much respect I have for their government and people. The rest know of my dedication to the principles of what we fought for some years ago: freedom and equality for all in the east. So, with great hesitation, I must declare my support for the war to continue.” ~Joel Ignus, former Moneil of the Davian army.

Prologue: Rebirth

The boy bent down, gently tying the bronze guards to his legs. Securing them with a leather thong pulled tight. The standard-issued sandals came next, kept in place with more leather. The boy sighed and picked the cloth shirt off the bench and placed in over his body. He tied a belt around his shorts, helping to keep the too loose cloth in place. He heaved the bronze armor and placed it over his chest and back, nearly complete. Finally he placed the bronze helmet over his skull, loose black strands of hair falling behind it.

Pire stood up and grabbed the equipment issued to him off the bench beside him. A flexible bow made from the yew tree of the eastern forests. A newly crafted bronze shield and spear, both lightweight and yet stronger than the older copper that most of the lower ranking soldiers would receive. The shield possessed an engraving, a long curving slash with a crescent moon behind it. The old Moneil’s standard.

The boy wandered out of the changing room and into the large courtyard. The training grounds were flanked on three sides training buildings and a small wall and gate on the fourth. Created by the old Moneil Ignus shortly before retiring, the complexes had sprouted up all over the country and quickly became the typical site of training for the new Guardsmen.

The boy drifted over to a large fountain , set up in a resemblance of a large bird with wings spread wide, located in the middle of the courtyard. The pool that it fed into was large, and most of the men were gathered around it. Standing in front of the crystal clear waters, Pire was suddenly surprised by his appearance. Decked out in gleaming bronze armor, the boy was suddenly reminded of a god of old.

No one would have suspected that the boy in front of them was a once ragamuffin of the slums. His once scraggy black hair had been washed and properly combed for the first time in years. Now it hung loosely behind his head, under the bronze helmet that hung over his head one-size-to-big. The boy had been shocked when the recruiter had handed him a cotton-shirt, something that very few people could ever afford. The boy hadn’t even seen a shirt for much of his life, only the fur that women were required to wear and the occasional cotton shirt of the council members campaigning for votes. He had stood in shock when the recruiter had handed him the shirt, marveling at the feeling of running his fingers through the exotic material. Now with the bronze armor over the shirt, he looked like anything but an urchin. Over his shorts was a small bronze skirt, reaching about halfway down his shorts. Bronze leggings and sandals completed the look.

The boy remembered the day when he had been just an urchin, leeching off society and the rich. Unable to find work despite the booming economy, he had been forced to live in the slums of Breaner, the northeastern section of the capital. The boy had been orphaned as a young child, losing both his father in the War of the Menace, and losing his mother to disease two years later. But then, just a week ago, a recruiter had come through the slums promising riches for those who would join the army. The recruiter had promised ten icados a month with free room and food. Too many that lived in the slums, the man had promised salvation. The fact that the country was gearing up for war meant little to the men; just the daily salvation of their lives.

Pire would have gladly gone to four wars for the deal he was offered. Instead of a poor urchin, he was now a servant of the Republic. To fight was an honor, a privilege to serve and maybe even die if it was required. With a gleam in his hazel eyes, the man stood tall for the first time in his life and proudly walked over to the sergiá in charge.

The Ships of Swade

Grigo and Foplo waited at the docks, as the Emorian Crew departed the two galley's being delivered. They watched them get hurried away. Then they sat and watched as they ships were pulled into an Unchete cove dock. They would be there for many weeks, implementing Wilipo's ingenious design.
-----------------------------

The construction of the Bladeremes, as they were being dubbed, was almost complete. The Bronze rams had been put into place. it was really quite an ingenious design. The Ship was about 50 meters long with complement of 300 oarsmen, 50 Crew, and 120 Swordsman of Divine Enlightment. The frontal ram which gave the ships it name, was 15 meters in length. It was of a Rotated Pincher Design, with a large jut above the water and one below, thus allowing th piercing of Enemy veesles above an below water. Two Captured Catapults where placed on each one, for ranged attacking. They were equipped with sails for long travels, and "caveli"[1] in the back for foodstuffs, goods or plunder.

It truly was a brilliant design. Wilipo and his genious deserved to be the Ascendant Master.
