LINESII- Into the Darkness

Great update!

@Iggy: Could you please PM me what the Citadel knows about the Lengels (which should be quite a lot, as we've been working in that area for nearly a century)?

Also, what's a rough estimate of the number of New Eldists per country (i.e. Veritas, Khmeri, Davaria, etc.)?

Right, but the stats probably won't appear for a few days, which is why I only asked for a rough estimate.

I'm thinking about proposing a peace treaty...

@Iggy: have our efforts to civilize the tribes north of Malkavia been successful? Are they civilized to any degree? Also, do those tribes and the ones east of Maugot follow New Eldism?

Nurmafer didn't evacuate, I forgot the road. Sorry, It's added into the map at home, and will show up in the next update.

Oops, forgot to put in the casualty counts there. Veritas' entire offensive force was destroyed, so another 3-4000 or so. I'll add that in.

Actually I was going to propose one. But i need to confer with my allies.

Vertis is to all extents and purposes beaten. They're at a point where they raise a small army and it gets beaten down again, whilst not lkilling off our alliances combined growth for that year. So we get gradually larger they just keep getting beaten down.

we can also exploit the sea now as well. And have tied down Vertis' allies in other countries and even broken one away via diplomacy.

Why did you not comply with our deal. We have our doubts about keeping our NAP if you are unreliable.

Yay. Thought Gerber was gonna have something up his sleeve and destroy my army. Anways.

The Gerber war is only indirectly involved with you. We request to keep the Gerber lands to the east of the Kalmar river, which had minimal Gerber settlement anyways.

Iggy! Answer me!

With Wilipo on the throne of the Swade, mcuh had been accomplished. He had reformed the system of Swade travel so it reflected its growth. He had constructed the grand City of Unchete on the Sea of the Blademaster. He had constructed a navy, reformed the military, converted people near and far. He had brought peace to a nation that thirsted for it. More and more babies were being born.

But his success, while celebrated by the people, was threatening to the Ascendants. The Five Traditional lines didn't like his popularity, it threatened them. They didn't like his age. Ascendant Masters were usually around 200 when they took the Grand Throne in Swade, not 50. The lenght of his reign made him unique, made his mark more lasting. Something had to be done about the dissident in the lines. No lomnger culd he just put procepctive masters in the Military or in th Academies or in the Temples and give them some title. No, something had to be done. he had to get them out of the Capital, so the real reforms could take place.

This was not his only motive though, no, not in the slightest. He knew his lineage would be superior, and he wanted it to continue to guide the Ascendancy. And he had a chance no one had ever had. He could onstruct his family, pick the traits and qualities and mix them so the Wilip branch would be superior. He was thinking 200 years ahead, plotting events even after his death. He had to give them power that was empty, a sword that was to brittle to break the skin. The Veritasians had a system worth emulatin he decided. Yes... it would work for what he wanted.
--------------------------------------------------------

Wilipo called the meeting of the Ascendants. He looked over the other 5 families. The Chips, the Szvitzer, the Wes, the Sudbur, and the Sintoni. He looked as the wondered what this could possibley be about.

"I have called you here today to present you with the ne organization of the Ascendancy's lands. You all are equal in your power, but what the Ascendancy needs now is not the Council sitting in one city. No, friends we have grown large. Now each family non-ruling family will have Governorship over a division of the Ascendancy. They will appoint a single Adviorter to council me on the happenngs in your region."

He pulled out a map and placed it on the table.

From Khemri

We Are I am afraid directly responsible having convinved the Gerbers to attack you, to further divide your alliance. As such the Gerbers have found favour amoung the Khemrians.

However if the Gerbers will agree to that we will support it.

it will however be noted for compromising purposes.

Davar heavily advises Veritas not to sign the treaty Khermi suggests. It is nothing more than an attempt by Khermi to take power and become unopposable. We do not agree to items 1, 2,3, 4, and 7 at all. The rest can be discussed.

#1- Mogulia is, and has never been, a part of Khermi. For what reason should Khermi take control of a people that are culturally, politically, and religiously different than it's own?

#2- This war stems entirely from Khermin aggression towards Nurmafer. You have caused ten fold the damage to them as Veritas had done to you. If anyone should receive help it should be them, not Khermi. Will you give them aid in rebuilding if Veritas done the same to you?

#3 & 4- Gorin and Shalamiri joined in the war to aid their ally, you. It is their own fault for their losses and should receive nothing.

#7 - As Gerber is the agressor in this war towards a member of our coalition, you have no right to demand anything. They have nothing to do with the Great War. And we have our own plans for the Gerber lands we take. They will not, however, become a part of Davar.

We refuse to sign a treaty until major changes are done to these articles. (assuming I'm even involved, that is.)

The Citadel suggests that the Khmeri and Gerber wars be resolved seperately, as less nations would be involved in either case individually.

Wilipo Chipa finds the treaty acceptable, and hopes for ruther trading relations with the nation in the treaty.
