LINESII- Into the Darkness

@Iggy, for the diplomacy I assume it was FROM Bandong and Faitei and not to.. How many more people can I support? I am aiming for a land density of say 200 per well, whatever we use to measure
You assume correctly. The map is the same scale as the Jason world map, for reference. Population can only grow so fast.

Everyone, I'm kinda finding it hard to focus on updating stats, as I'm nervous about several things, a bunch of piano stuff, my upcoming exam (I did great on all of the practice exams, but still...) and sending NES2 VI orders for the most critical turn for my nation since NK was running it.

I'll try to get stats done tomorrow. I probably won't be doing the proposed bonus update on Wednesday/Thursday, though if my responsibilities give me a break I might.

OOC: The stats aren't really that important, it's the little trivial things I really like. :D I really like the timeline :D

OOC: Will you still do the little stuff today then? ;)

We have heard of your small Kingdom in the mountains, and see your pathetic army attempt to defend what is yours. Except, if we wish it, what is yours will become ours in the rumble of horse hooves. Pay 1 economy point in tribute every (2 turns), and serve as a trading route to the Nations of the East, and we will protect you as one of our own.

Millions for defense but not one penny for tribute.

OOC: Will you still do the little stuff today then?
Oh, whatever...

Don't you hate that pre-exam feeling, you feel horrible if you do anything other than study, even if you're prepared?

OOC: *sigh* Yes, I know that feeling. I get that feeling everytime I sign on Civfanatics :( Ah, I cannot keep you, Adios Iggy ;)

Norvalin is pretty much beyond your control. It's next to impossible to govern it from where you are, other than having a vague influence from great distance.

Yet you are foolish enough to believe they will return your courtesy?
To: Davar

Hopefully, they will. Maybe they will not. We are sworn to peace in any case. And only by peace, not war, can the Lengels join civilization. (OOC: read my story)

To: Exilsium

If we sign an NAP and promise not to base military actions off of the island, will you feel more comfortable?

The Most Important River in the World: The Wardash

Among the many rivers in the world the Wardash has served as a land mark for some of the greatest civilizations, accomplishments, and battles. Almost all civilizations that began on the Wardash have survived to this day. The Gorin, the Yath al'Shanaal, the Qua'laen Jal, the Gerber and the Mogul are all civilizations that began along the Wardash. Only one now ceases to exist.

Out of the five civilizations that came to be, 4 placed their capitals along the Wardash, and in later times another capital would be placed. The Wardash is home to some of the most important cities in the world, and in their respective civilizations. A total of nine great cities are located along the Wardash, two of which are home to one of the great religions of the world, and another of culture. No other river is used for more trade than the Wardash, it's shores and litered with villages and trading outposts. The traffic of trade boats and ships is constant in the Wardash, and at times to much. One could argue that the Wardash itself is the most important trade route in all the world, connecting North to South and even East to West.

The Wardash has also been the scene of terrible battles. The short lived Crystalic Wars, between Gorin and the Shalamari (then known as the Yath al'Shanaal), the Gerber-Mogul war, and served as a great obstical and marker of progress in the Great War. The Wardash has also served as a territorial border for many.

Some of the greatest civilizations have be born from the Wardash river. The Gorinese Empire (known before as simply Gorin), The Shalamari and the Gerber. One can only dream of how many more great things shall happen along the Wardash.

From: Shalamari (well, CRA)
To: The Civilized League

We propose that a defensive league is formed against the Lengels by the nations not in CRA who still received the call to arms from Davar. We want no more than you that the Lengels conquer the Heart of the World. If you ally and stand fast, there will be to major blocks against the Lengels, making it difficult for them to strike at any place. We will also ensure that our cause is just in an eventual war, since we are only defending ourselves.

OOC: Is this satisfactory for you, JD?

The Crystal Ridge Mountain: How it brought three of the greatest civilizations together

The Crystal Ridge Mountain symbolized the great border between North and South. It had been a source of both great material and spiritual wealth to both the Shalamari and the Gorinese Empire. It also served as the basis of an alliance that would later defeat the greatest civilized power in the world (the Veritas).

It was winter 901. Lord Kaiser Anthi Oborski had crosseed the great Crystal Ridge Mountain to see the Khemri King in person to discuss trade deals and possible trade routes through the Crystal Ridge Mountains. After a few weeks of debating, the Lord Kaiser and the Khemri King signed a Mutual-Protection Pact. This was unexpected, and made the Shalamari wary of the Khemri, thinking that they would attack the Shalamari and hence bring Gorin into the war. In order to ease this tention the Lord Kaiser invited the leaders of the two nations to a council in the city of Gorin. In the summer of 901, the very same day that the three nations met to discuss the rising tention between them, the CRA was formed. Initial it began with a trade deal between all three nations, in which free trade was agreed on and NAPs where signed. After the feast, the Lord Kaiser, knowing of the Nurmafer war, suggested that the three nations sign a defense pact. The Khemri King joking said "Why not an alliance!". This was just what the Lord Kaiser was looking for. The Shalamari leader was shocked, but interested, since it was another route to spread Crystalism.

"Why not?" The Lord Kaiser said and it was so, from then on the CRA become a force to be reckoned with. The Great War, which historians now completely seperate from the Nurmafer-Khemri war, forged the allies closer together. Each nation had a benifit for staying in the alliance. The Gorinese Empire needed both the Shalamari and the Khemri to stay alive and be buffer states. Khemri need the Shalamari and Gorin aid to push back the Veritas, and the Shalamari needed the Gorin and Khemri to stablize its religious expansion.

After the Great War, however many thought the alliance would crumble because it had no common enemy. But this was no where near the truth. The three great nations had become closely linked. Trade had prospered in the alliance, bringing the crucial binding element of money into it. The CRA's cultures had also become linked, the Khemri people were grateful to the Shalamari and Gorin for their invaluable aid. The Gorin people to were grateful for the war, as it had provided a great time to develop its technology and hence culture. And the Shalamari to were grateful, for with the destruction of the Veritas, and the Church of One with no military might, the Shalamari could again begin spreading their religion without fear of reprisal from anyone.

Now, with the coming of the Lengel hordes, the CRA have, again, an enemy to focus their military might onto. A war with the Lengel could only bring the already enternally bound nations, closer together.

From the Gorinese Empire
To the League of Civilization

Lord Kaiser Drago Oborski has thought long and hard about joining this, which the Lord Kaiser himself proposed. Instead of joining the League of Civilization, the Lord Kaiser would prefer to keep our alliance's seperate but with the common foe of the Lengel. The task of coordinating an attack of all nations against the Lengel would prove to be a difficult one, so, in that light, we should stay in our seperate alliances, to make planing for battle easier.

The Lord Kaiser is also in agreement with the Shalamari that our pacts should be defensive. We are civilized nation, we do not attack simply to spread ourselves and our beliefs, we attack only in defense, for this is the Honorable thing to do.

To the Lengel Horde

After careful consideration of your offer the Lord Kaiser has come to this conclusion.

1. Lands under his current control will remain so.
2. A 3 year NAP shall be signed between the Gorinese Empire and the Lengel Horde.
3. The Lengel Horde and the Gorinese Empire shall engage in trade via the city of Kratha and the River Wardash.
4. The Lengel Horde shall transfer into the hands of the Gorinese Empire the total of 1000 horses for the price of 1,000,000 Balms (1 EP).
5. The Lengel Horde shall allow missionaries from the Gorinese Empire to enter its lands freely and unharmed, The Lengel Horde have the same courtesy extended to them.

Condition #4 is negotiable (the price is)

CC: CRA + "Civilized League"

This is acceptable, but it doesn't go far enough. The Citadel proposes that the defensive pact take effect against everyone, not just the Lengels. That way, if any nation decides to become aggressive, all other nations will stand against it. For is it not true that the true barbarians are those who only pursue war?

OOC: Do it! It'll be interesting to see if it can last...

To Ken and Drakening:

The Swade are a superior people, very pious and very smart. Their outstanding culture is ignored by the rest of the world, usuallly. They beleive in the Blademaster, the True God Himself. They have a nack for great monuments. They have skin like people from the Amazon, and are amazingly adept at swordplay, children usually better than most Adults from nations such as VEritas and Khemri.

There are no power struggles, as Wilipo is the Ascendant Master, a Military Genius who has lead the Swade Ascendancy into a golden age of sorts, expontentially increasing their economy, while increasing both territory and never losing a war too. He is hailed as the COnverter of Emor and the Conquerer of Veritas.

@Swiss
I love how these "superior" people can't spell

Drakening

Do you believe half the crap that comes out of your mouth?

Conquerer of Veritas.

Last time I checked your "ally" backstabbed someone with no army in the area, and you reaped the benifits. You didn't even have any land there. Was there a point to that diplo other than annoying us?
