I remember one of my grandpas was taken by the British Empire to Zambia / Malawi to work. From reading some history on the British Empire, it is likely it may have been to work on railroad construction. My other grandparents moved right to Britain to work in factories. Then they all got British passports / citizenship and now here I am 2 generations later.

(although unlike the Vatican, Mt Athos is not holding any title in the church such as archbishop seat etc).@Arakhor: Mt Athos has the status of community of monasteries. It is internally independent (as long as there is no crime, obviously) and this special status allows it to have special rules (and a sort of constitution) held for religious dogma, etc. Likely by far the most (in)famous of those is that women are not allowed in the 20 monasteries which make up the community. It exists in the southernmost edge of the third leg in the Chalkidike peninsula, and also hosts non-greek monasteries (eg a russian and a serbian one, not sure if also a bulgarian).
