I just have to say.. I wish I had this good luck with leaders always.. out of 5 elite wins so far I have gotten 3 leaders!
 
The only trouble is what can we do with them all? :crazyeye:
We will soon hit the army limit even with being a world map game.

I just hope we get this like when a rail-net is in place and we have factories, iron works (yes, I am wishful), etc to rush. This is one way I like RaR better. There is almost always a nice small wonder to rush with a leader.
 
Well.. I already hit army limit.. cant turn the 3rd leader into an army.. and I have 2 empty armies because i dont have enough units to put into them.. :p (4 unit armies didnt make it easier to find spare units..)
 
Well the question then is what CAN the leader rush of value? I hate to sit on a leader waiting for 4 more cities.
 
just need 2 more.. and I have a settler in place to build one of them next turn..

Most valuable to rush is prolly a bank down in the core.. so I will start to bring leader down there just in case I cant get 2 cities soon.
 
I like knight armies. I sense that we could be getting quite a few of them. If we can catch the Aztecs before Infantry with us with a full load of armies, they could be in some serious Doo-Doo.
I think we would want to set up a funnel of doom utilizing at least our sword armies in Central America.
It sounds like with all these armies, we should be able to run over the Venezualan Rabble quite quickly. (~20 more turns)
 
I havent been able to make as much progress with venezuela as I had hoped.. mainly due to lack of units... lots of infascructure has been completed thou.. and our income is much healthier..
currently at 8 armies (I used the leader for a bank.. still dont have enough cities for 9 armies)

We aren't that many turns (possibilly your 10th) from another round of renegotiate peace with Greece to try and continue to move ahead with tech.
 
I finished playing, just taking a bit to prepare the writeup.. but in short:
I got another army, and I picked up 7 more techs.

Since we really dont know what tech will be the best to buy when we get our gpt back (atm democracy would be best to buy), I switch all our scientists but one to taxmen.. and in addition MM for extra gold by switching tiles where it dont matter for production times.
end up with +38gpt

trade WM around and get another 6 gold

looks like venezuela has 10 cities up in alaska/canada/greenland.. so razing venezuelan cities seems the best option.

Next day I take a good look at current and possible trades.. and notice we have 2 expores silk deals that is still running

we give silks to mongols for furs, and silks to babylon for 22gpt

Neither has any gpt to throw in... but mongols has 44 cities, so a lux should be more valuable to them than to us..

I check around.. zulus will give us a lux for silks and 11gpt.. this should be close to an even trade if I cancel the mongol deal first.

Cancel deals with both babylon and mongols.. babylon has 0gpt available

zulus have both wines and incense for trade.. somehow the incense costs 1gpt more then wines?!?

buy wines from zulu for silks and 3gpt

go back to mongols again and get furs for silks again

can now lower lux from 20% to 10%.. result.. gpt from 57 to 73.. and it looks like I can fire some specialists

it appears as if america has grabbed navigation.. and still dont have a good world map..

the peace deal with brazil is over, and the RoP we have with them is over too.. only problem is they have a city next to our undefeded tundra towns, so I didnt delare on them since I wanted to keep city count up for more armies.

We may consider rushing the palace in the aztec capital when we finally capture it.. it has a whole heap of wonders.. GLib, Sun Tzu, smiths, shakespares, zeus (I think).. it prolly has a ton of tourism bonus.. and would have massive flip risk unless we can wipe out aztecs completely
 
I am not LK, and would want his weigh in on this one, but I for one would consider rushing a spear in each tundra town, and then let them hold on their own, while we get the 2 towns in the heart of S.A. Even if this becomes a straight up trade, I think we are the better for it.
This would seem a much better idea to me.
Plus we could ally the Iro or the Aztecs with a large gpt trigger for tech against brazil as well.
I highly doubt Brazil could survive the heat.

I would give those two towns to Germany for peace. As long as he enemies we have an easier time trading. We are probably paying a premium now in some of those peace renegotiations as we did it with the big boys.

We have an absurd number of armies at this point. I really don't care about getting another one. I will gladly give up 2 pieces of tundra garbage to get 2 more cities that are connected to our core empire. I would prefer to have all our cities on the mainland.

The front vs. Venezuela looks nice. The only worry I see on the map is settlers. I don't want openings where other AIs may plant a city. The number one is to make sure that WE get the city in Central America. That choke point may very well be the difference in winner the Aztec war.

Getting navigation was nice as we finally have stable trade routes. I notice that MapStat shows a lot of new trade routes. Now the question is when any of them will have value.

The tech picture looks a lot better even if we have to get a government we will never use. The challenge is starting to look like who will be available outside of the big boys to deal with soon. There is no way I want to feed the tech leaders.

Remember 10 turns per round - STRICT 24 hours got it, total 48 hours to at complete.
5 to 10 turns starting with the industrial age. Once the game starts dragging 48 hours to at least report a status update.

once we pick up magnetism and ToG.. then we should be able to get a free IA tech by gifting germany into IA and give them all the optional techs for it.. hopefully they get steam :)

We can also gift greece and russia and trade 1st lvl techs with them at that point
