LK140 - Trying emperor

Ooops. None. Totally forgot about that part :hammer2:
:( :( :(

Unless we get a GE, my vote for our next GP is a golden age. I really don't want to suffer several turns of anarchy to dump HR, slavery and the rest.

So what happens to the GM, did you use it for a mission or keep (can't open the save wrong computer) ?

(also we should have 3 Iron at least, as there is 1 on the ex-barbarian island)

Sushi+Mining in Uruk (+Wall Street) seems good to me.

New Updates
I am a bit confused. I got the impression that a trade mission was preferred, but we still have a merchant. Did we perform a trade mission with Egypt?

If Communism isn't discovered when physics is done, do we want to grab the spy? We could use the extra EP points from a merged spy.

I am happy that we are back to #3 in soldiers. Keep pumping out those troops.

LKendter
Swiss Pauli
Yena (currently playing)
Refar (on deck?)
Jabah

Remember 15 peace (including phony wars) / 10 heavy war turns per round. STRICT 24 hours got it, total 48 hours to complete.

Win target: learning toward space.

Planned wars - None

I didn't complete the mission, I only valued it since there were team members calling fo Sushi.

Jabah's right, we have 3 iron now. Lastly, I'd skip Communism seeing as we don't need SP and we should focus on beelining to Space as this is quite a long run in BtS.

I got and built in the new controller today, there is some post maintenance clean up to do. I will be ready for action tomorrow (Thursday) moning. So "On Deck" sounds good :D

I wanted to post a "got it," but I cannot download the save. With save as I get only 363 bytes, so something is wrong. Please upload it again, either here or at some file share site. thanks.

Looks like I deleted the save during a clean up. I can't guarantee that I'll post it again today, but maybe Lee has it and can post it.

I know I have the save, as I loaded it last night to comment. However, I just started work. They earliest I can post is ~10 hours from now.

Another quiet set. I discovered that Egypt had already settled the small fishing village south of their continent, so it felt urgent to settle the remaining land quickly, and I built three settler (one for the whale island up north, and 2 for the small island west of our mainland).

SoL and Ironworks are almost done, and I build more troops to secure our northern border. Physics revealed a uran mine east of Shurrupak, and I'm building another settler to claim that resource before someone else turns up there.

After physics I chose Biology since it is will allow us to grow our cities even more, and since it is on the way to medicine for Sid's. Hammurabi wanted to end the fur deal, and I had to give him stone since I couldn't afford the unhappiness. Brennus became a vassal of Sitting Bull.

I used the free GS for a golden age and changed civics as seen below. At the end of the set there is still two turns of GA remaining, and I think we should make more changes. At least we need to go to Emancipation since we already have two angry people in the biggest cities (but our happiness resources make up for it unless we grow them even more).

So, don't forget to make final adjustments to the civics in the first two turns of the next set...

We defintely need to agree on civics before the next player. We won't get a third chance to change them in the near future.

For me, BUR is best in Space games for the hammers, esp now that BtS has heavier parts (e.g. two Engines). I'd also go FR now. And USUF isn't so useful seeing as we'll be running a high science rate: we're running quite a few specialists so REP wins this one for me.

Glad I'm not up to forget the swap :mischeif:

My votes

I would have (keep) USUF, but more for the extra hammer than the rush-buy ability (in this game).

I would have (keep) OrgRel, for the +25% building (except if we have extra religion, but having only 2 is not that great for happiness)

I would have (change) Emancipation (it will only get worst when everyone will be changing).

I think I would have (change back) Bureaucracy, but when we have Sushi and more cottage (grown to town), I might consider changing it to Free Speech.

I am not completly convinced that production is the critical path to SShip in this game (or that having a extra strong producer instead of just a very strong producer is critical). On the other hand, I am not sure that we will have a better research in FS than in BUR (since Uruk might be a significant part of our research).

Jabah

PS - best would be to force a UN decision to FS (for a free -no anarchy- revolution), after Uruk built the Space Elevator
PS2 - With railroad (7 mines), levee (15 rivers), factory and hydropower (3GD or small dam), does Uruk really need the Bureaucracy bonus for production :)

I think i am up ? I got the save did not looked yet however.

My first idea was REP (SoL upcomming) and BURO (few Cities, strong Capital) as well... But need to take closer look first... Free Market seems ok.
Free Religion ?

No idea at Labor... EMANCIPATION ? At some point everyone and his dog will switch there anyway....

Agree on this.

The first part of the above seems to contradict your pref for USUF:confused:

Space Elevator is a poor choice in BtS because the tech itself is no longer needed for parts, and the wonder is still massively expensive.

Also by not teching Computers->Robotics we can keep the Sankore :science: (We did built Sankore iirc ?)... Is not much, but still something...

Emancipation is a must, but I'm not sure about the rest. Civic changes are hard!

I took US/OR for the extra production during the GA, but perhaps Representation is better from now on (extra science/happiness). With FR our relations with Asoka will take a hit, but he is not that dangerous so it is probably worth it.
