Do *NOT* explore with the ships from Jolly Roger. The only reason for them is to try and destroy those annoying bombard units.
UGG - we are getting more enemies. Most of the reinforcements need to continue toward the Indo-China front.
OTOH I was right that India is primed to taking a beating. World religion Hinduism is nice. I never argue with more culture and happy faces.
The killed to lost ratio is awful for that set. I don't think we can lose at this point with having coal. However, we can suffer some nasty setbacks if this keeps up. We need those initial waves to burn down.
It looks like mostly junk, but that is a *lot* of Russian units in the report.
I agree that we need Greebley to have some luck with spies. I was not planning on getting cash from Indo-China for troops.

Definitely! Nearly half the losses were in Samarra. The Mongols hit us hard in exactly the wrong place.
I had unusually bad luck on the last turn, too. I don't normally lose units in every battle on the attack.

Last turn (1878ad) did you try to plant spies in the 4 civs we could steal tech from?
Since Greebley doesn't have CivAssit II, there are 4 civs we can steal techs from:
Maghreb and Mexico are Democracies:
Indo-China and Japan are Theocracies (along with India who does not have knowledge of the techs we need).
The remaining civs are Republics and we cannot steal techs from them. (Brazil, Austria, Mongol, Arabia, Russia and Canada)

Indo-China, Japan and Maghreb have multiple techs above us from the above list. Somewhere along the line they got way above us.

Indo-China, Japan and Maghreb are the key steal targets that I can find per MapStat
Mexico and Brazil will not negotiate with us. Which is probably the reason their techs do not show up in MapStat.
Mexico/Aztec know the same techs as the 3 civs you mentioned.
They got to this Age before we did and at that point could study faster than our 9 turns to learn a tech. Plus we built the Free Artistry and Physics Great Wonders so they had no reason to horde those techs.
I always get that feeling when I am preparing to annex a city and civs other than the owner of the city seem to always send troops into the area around the city. Also, that offers an explanation of what happened to the Maghreb's wealth, they must have bought techs from Indo-China.
I have got it and will start this weekend.
I think I would like to take a swap with the next player. I have had a persistent headache this weekend that makes it hard to play. I was hoping it would be gone today, but is still bothering me.

I am using Gas Holders (200 shields) as pre-builds for Steamrollers. Acquiring the tech left us some what cash poor, so we will not be rushing many Steamrollers into service.

After paying homage to the rng gods our spy infiltrates the ship builders guild and learns the secrets of Naval Power. Our spy masters feel invincible, but fail to plant a spy with the Maghreb.
Do some MM. Plus, change some scientists to Policemen to get gold, plus shields. Steam Power is still due in 3 turns. Switch all Castle builds to something else. Castles will be obsolete soon.

Near Vientaine we loss 2 Hussars to Indo-Chinese troops (Cavalry and Line Infantry) (2, 2). The Line Infantry means the Indo-Chinese have learned about the Napoleonic Age. Also, the Brazilians and Aztec/Mexicans also know about it since they are constructing Code Civil.

Notes and Suggestions:
- There are a few worker groups that build rails in 1 turn. Also there are a few worker groups that are not using the minimum number of worker turns to complete task. This is my fault because I kept forgetting that workers and slaves build improvements faster with Explosives.
- New York is building a Gas Holder for the 25% shield bonus. I think all other Gas Holder builds are pre-builds for Steamrollers.
- I did not switch then to Steamrollers in case you want to short rush some of the Steamrollers.
- I think we should avoid rush building Steamrollers in the former Inca cities since they might be hybrid Steamrollers not worth the 200 shields it takes to build them.
- As of this turn, we are the only civ (among the ones we know) that knows Explosives. When I learned Railroads the other civs also knew it. It seems we were the only civ that could research Explosives in 4 turns.
- Unless the enemy steals our Techs, we should have at least 8 turns to our selves in the Industrial Age.
- Since all techs currently will take us 5 turns to learn, I have us first learning how to Improve Steam Engines.
- Unfortunately, Sheepish Pig Iron with not finish the Olympic Games until after we lean this Improved Steam Engines.
- I have Pompeii building Battlefield Medicine as a pre-build for the Transcontinental Railroad
- After we learn Steam Engines we should research Scientific Method (SM)
- Pre-build Arms Race in Sheepish Pig Iron.
- It would be nice to build X-Ray Machine in Rome.
- Our typical path of Scientific Method (dropped to 0% research after SM is learned) → Electricity → Atomic Theory.
- Then beeline to Communism at best possible research.
