I think the move 3 is the better choice. It doesn't really slow the overall win by more than a turn or two.

If the time for staging is a concern, we could have gone for airports before tanks as it really reduces getting units to their location. That is partly why I suggested it earlier as an option before tanks. We can get it next.
 
Flight will arrive my next turn. IIRC it is useless for transporting tanks. Those are the main units I'm building now.

Next week should have a report. I'm getting in a full 10 set. I'm working on turn 8.
 
I hope you are going to go for Radio next to get the faster and larger freighters to transport troops.
Based on my play style, I would rather have tanks than airplanes. Tanks can capture towns, Airplanes can't.
Also, I think airports are only useful to use as a prebuild for a wonder. For the shields it takes to build an airport you can build 7 tanks and 1 WWI infantry.

I’m not sure why we are building so many adventurers. I’ve rarely gotten value from them.

I noticed our shipping lane between Dover and Trondheim has NO escorts. I rush several light cruisers in the area.

Greebley did a good job filling in empty spaces. I find no cities worth adding to our first two continents. I plan to pull all workers from China. There isn’t a lot more work to do. More workers are needed on the continent in progress.
I did find 2 small islands that can use cities. I rushed a steamer in that area.

There are too many targets, and still not enough troops. The Memphis area is clear. There is still a lot to clear from China. What is crazy is I had to build more steamers for the path to Dover. I wonder if too many got pulled for the other paths.

I’m not sure if the tech choice matters. Radio would give us ships with a bit more capacity, but a turn would be lost for upgrading. I pick dreadnaughts at just 30% science. At this point we simply need units.
 
I'm currently working on turn 9 of 10. As you can see from the above these are massive turns.
The log document got so long that I simply wanted to clear it out.

The 2 primary reasons I build them is (1) They can see invisible troops; (2) I like to use them as MPs in interior cities and cities we are starving. Why use WWI Infantry guarding an interior city when you can use an adventurer. Also, they can pillage (not that I use it much)

I built Bifrost. I would think it has zero risk of flip. Am I missing something?
I set up an auto go to on every continent for most of the cities building troops. I found it made moving the newly built units to where they could board steamers quicker and easier. I just wish the auto move would occur in the beginning of a turn instead of towards the end.

Saigon could have completed it in 3 turns if you planted and mined 2 forests ( to make up for the lose of the town clock) which would have caused a minor food shortage in Saigon.

The only place having freighters vs steamers would matter might be on the Dover run since the extra move might get the troops to Dover in 1 turn not 2.
I didn't think about it before, but losing the Town clock bonus would have hurt 1 turn tank production. From what you have written, more tanks sounds better than freighters replacing steamers.

I am sorry for the comment I made about Birfrost. For some reason, I read it as shifting units out of Bifrost. :blush:

Tanks had the same movement problem in deserts in LK172. I don't remember exactly but Dragoon and Armored car armies could move at least 1 tile more than a tank army in deserts.
