I thought I had a good start until I was reminded that flood plains caused disease. When I watched the capitol drop back to size one, I decided to roll another start. Medicine from the age of discovery will take ages. I didn't want to suffer from that many setbacks. This was a massive flood plains area.

4000 BC (0)
I started the standard worker houses.
Our 50-turn science run will be city-state.

3750 BC (5)
The border expansion allows Washington to start to use the cows.

3200 BC (16)
I contact Germany. I give them masonry for warrior code and $9.

3050 BC (19)
(IT) Carthage has completed their UW.

2900 BC (22)
(IT) Slaver's Hut is completed.

2850 BC (23)
New York is founded claiming lots of furs. This city could be seen as a back-fill city. However, I wanted it up and running now.

2700 BC (26)
I contact Britain. No trades are possible.

2660 BC (27)
(IT) Germany establishes an embassy with us.

2620 BC (28)
I ship our newly connected furs to Germany for $41 and $1/T. The tech trades were too expensive.
(IT) Arabia completes their UW.

2580 BC (29)
(IT) Persia completes their UW.

2460 BC (32)
I contact Carthage. No trades are possible.
(IT) The Dutch complete the Colossus.

2260 BC (37)
I ship the newly connected furs to Carthage for $119.

2140 BC (40)
(IT) Our scout near Germany was killed. I was one turn from verifying those borders I saw were Britian. Those two may be very close.

2020 BC (43)
Our enslaver kills the German scout wandering around near us.

1980 BC (44)
Boston is founded.
(IT) A German scout commits suicide on our enslaver.
Carthage established an embassy with us.

1940 BC (45)
(IT) Persia completed Stonehenge.

1740 BC (50)
I sent city-state and furs to Britian for writing, iron working and the wheel.
I sent city-state to Germany for the sail and $37.
I sent city-state to Carthage for pottery, $191 and $7/T.

1700 BC (51)
(IT) Greece completed their UW.

1620 BC (53)
I contacted Portugal. No trades are possible.
I contacted Russia. I'm not giving up city-state for $34.
(IT) China completed their UW.

1580 BC (54)
I'm not sure how, but I've contacted Japan. I give them iron working for $59.
(IT) Egypt completed their UW.

1540 BC (55)
I sent Japan city-state for polytheism, $79 and $3/T.

1460 BC (57)
Our enslaver finds a British warrior. We now have a new worker and an elite enslaver.
I sent furs to Japan for $129.

1300 BC (61)
(IT) Egypt already completed the Pyramids. I just started seeing under construction notices from the civs we know. Is Egypt a monster already? I wonder if they are near the tech leader area.

1220 BC (63)
I found the backwards and somewhat broke Indochina.

1180 BC (63)
Philadelphia is found. Silver is online now. A monument is started for culture. I want the third ring ASAP for iron.

1140 BC (64)
I contacted the Incan. I sell them polytheism for a somewhat light $65.
New York switches to the Great Library due in 2 turns.

1100 BC (65)
The Great Library is one turn away. I sell literature to Carthage for $607 and $10/T.

[End of session 1]

The eastern part of the empire.

The western part of the empire. This includes the next city spot. It claims horses and hardwood. This location maximizes the number of bonus grassland claimed. The works perfectly with claiming maximum grassland.
You can also see the third ring iron by Philadelphia.

I went above my normal 50 turns to find out if the TGL gamble would work. Hopefully we will get at least one settler from it.
The Great Library is locked. New York is set to follow up with our third temple.

Publishing houses give a 25% shield bonus. We want them in our low corruption cities. That helped me to pull off getting TGL. Washington is at a beautiful 20 SPT thanks to a PH.

Science is turned off. Keep an eye out to gain some cash from the new tech coming our way.

Philadelphia needs to focus on culture to get to the third ring for iron. It should NOT build slavery with the -1 culture penalty. Don't forget we can cash rush stuff. It may already be worth doing in Philadelphia.

Looks like we are off to a Great start.:hatsoff:
Since we wouldn't need to trade for technology for many turns we should consider rushing some builds like the monument in Philly followed by migrant workers and when Red Dot is founded rush a monument quickly. Shouldn't the second ring from Philly plus the second ring from Red dot expand the border so we get the Iron?

When we decide we want to start our Golden Age, new york looks like a good spot for a future build of the Statue of Liberty (rather fitting).

Question for Civinator: We know Democracy why can't build the Capitol? We can build Constitution or Statue of Liberty if we want.

Capitol is the Forbidden Palace of CCM. A minimum # of cities is required. I don't know how many off the top of my head.

Flintlock detected, that there is a programming error in C3C concerning disease. It is cured with tech Writing (instead tech Sanitation). C3X has an option to correct that error, but nearly nobody wants disease. So you would not have to wait until tech Medicine is researched, as that option to fix disease in the scenario config file of C3X for CCM 3 is not enabled.

I hope you have excluded to restart eliminated civs.

Early: Lose an explorer on the first IBT. Get Great Library.
Myst, Math, Code of Laws, Riding, Elephant Riding.
Putting Siege Workshop in New York.
Met Portugal. We traded Lit for Silks and some Gold
Find the Incan homeland.

Mid:
Hammbari's Code is built.
Spain sounds new. They are actually ahead in tech by Camel Training.
Send our extra fur for some gpt to Spain - we should renegotiate as we may be able to get more gold.
We get Camel Training ourselves next turn.
Picked up a worker.
Oracle completed by Egypt who also have Pyramids and Sphinx.
Late:
Get Settler - head for horses + hardwood + iron town.
Get 2nd Settler Will start heading in the direction of other civs.

Notes:
Stopped at turn 80.

For towns:
One Settler is heading to bring horses, hardwood, and Iron with a radius expansion.

I was thinking the 2nd Settler could be the yellow circle (elephants for extra hp units) or red circle (lot of forest and grassland). Though other spots also look fine so lots of choices (or move both towns NE to make red coastal?)

I think one North of New York getting crabs will be a decent gold town with a small overlap with New York, but not top priority. Just don't forget it.

Red dot won't work for the horses and hardwood city. We can't settle tundra except if it has forest on it. It will be ages before we can plant trees. My red dot was on the edge where we could settle.

Egypt is really becoming a monster. It would be nice to have a clue where they are. Pyramids never expire and give settlers the rest of the game.

I agree with the city near New York. I also agree it is a low priority for us.

I'm surprised we got a settler already from TGL.

My next city suggestion. It gets *8* bonus grasslands, 2 hills, 1 mountain and the elephants with border expansion. It will be a shield monster.

Nice how quickly turns go when we are in the "BC" portion of the game.

I got it.

Agreed, it should be a very low priority, New York needs all its tiles so it can grow into a decent production city.

New York is a shield powerhouse at 28 SPT. Moving from the irrigated grassland to the irrigated bonus grassland gets it to 30 SPT. Swapping clams to a forest tile makes it 34 SPT. Do we want to try for more wonders? Mausoleum of Mausolis is my first thought. It should be good for 2 to 3 early game settlers. Fail plan is constitution. A few more early settlers would be massive for us.

Yes, the BC turns are fast. I'm free to play Sunday or Tuesday depending how fast it comes back.
