Isnt most of your army in Carthage? i could attack your holdings in greece easily, i've been thinking about it too, not even telling me what your upto the silence is disturbing, i thought my 3 'allies' were going to attack last turn.
I dont call people n00b, tis a very insulting word.
All right, I'll send a PM update. I do have some troops in the Grecian lands which Rome currently occupies, though.

28 is the exact number..

But yeah, we need new blood methinks, albeit we have to suffer the influx of lololroxors

Ok, it's not that bad idea then. But, if we want those new people to stay here at the forums, then there must be actual NESes to play. Currently we have only TWO(!) regularly updating NESes!!!

Well, I've got an idea of sorts... But I'd rather discuss it with someone who wants to co-mod.. :D

It wasn't supposed to come from me, but Fin. Do you want a PM from me, will it have more authenticity?

If we put a link we might as well move.

I don't understand what the huge rush is. We aren't on the verge of death, we aren't about to disintigrate. Lets just take our time, and we'll see where we are at in a couple months. Don't make any harsh decisions that could ruin NESing.

Anyways, how do you know thunderfall will put a link at the bottom? Thats pretty presitigious you know.

There are no Industrial/Modern NES's. Various NES's have died before every getting started like Concoona and Jasons (It seems).

There are perhaps 3 NES's that are alive at the moment. Can you not see the disturbing lack of NES's?
Jeez you people are worse than the Roman Senate.

So yes we should put the link or move altogether. Otherwise face it. NES'ing will die.

Still, if one of us decides to go on a hiatus as I did, or an extended one like Gelion (or an even longer one like.. er.. china444?), then we're really gonna have very few people.

I still think we should tolerate the flood of lololroxors and I'm sure the good ones will stay. We'll just make life hell for the bad ones.. :D

Concur with the majority. Quantity of players and interest is winding down. I haven't even been here that long and I can see it. Look at ITNES for example. It used to have a waiting list some three people long before one could join. Now we haven't been at full capacity for months, and for awhile were down to 14/20. Even now it's still just 19/20, and probably going to be less next turn.

There just aren't that many people who play, and all of them are off founding their own NESes which last maybe 2 or 3 pages before crashing and dying, further dilluting interest. A new influx of people is essential.

Achhhhh, the quantity is almost at a highpoint! How would people who have only been here for half a year know when the quantity is getting low? This is not a lowpoint, and is actually just coming down from a peak. We go in waves, the NES forum.

Why can't you guys just wait and see?! What is the big rush for???

NORMALLY, there are only 2 or 3 mainstay NESes at a time, and then usually one or two small NESes. We are not at a loss right now. It is perfectly normal.

The newbies off finding their own nes's and dieing is NORMAL again.

Not having enough players in your NESes is because 1. you havn't sparked enough interest, 2. you're expecting too much. The huge turnouts for dasnes and stnnes are because of a long going series that promises players quality. If you want such turnout, you have to start small.

Just wait a couple months. See if our advertisements in our sigs are suffecient. If they aren't, then sure, we can ask Thunderfall to move. Until then, sit tight! Quit worrying. And enjoy NESing.

The Sky Is Falling

A link isn't a move. And putting a link to a location is entirely different than moving everything from one location to another. Putting a link in the Civ4 section is no different than putting a link in your sig. For all the counters of "what's the rush" you can just as easily counter with "what's the harm?"

We don't lose anything by posting a link. We stand only to gain.

Excatly. Why are you people so bloody conservative? And I have been here long enough to tell that we are going through a serious slump.

The harm is this - we will make it too easy. That said, as a compromise we could only let in people after a special NES-based exam, so that only the people we need could get in.

I would think having a NES-based exam would be a wee bit too elitist.. Imagine Kowloon Academy, das..

Well, we used to have a steady trickle of peeps because Civ 3 was da gamez, so to speak. Essentially, adding our link to the Civ4 stories thingie would just be the same, I feel.

Just out of curiosity (since I joined NESing a bit after the initial Civ3 craze went down), how many lololroxors came via the original channels?

I don't know how many times I have said why I am conservative on this subject. If we move during such high times, we will get a huge influx of newbies who will flood the forums and screw it up for everyone. A link is a bit more scaled down, but we will still get the mass of people.

Now, I dont understand why you people in such a bloody hurry. We're aren't disentigrating. We aren't dieing out. Its still the same. Whats the huge rush? Like emu said, is the sky falling?

No, silver, you obviously havn't been here long enough to tell that.
