I'd like to put all ideas that we feel need to be addressed as a team and all observations we have while playtesting here. That way they won't get buried under 5 pages of thread and lost forever. :)

1 - [vote] GeoModder suggested combining Air and Co2 Recycling. Also Automation and Robotics. If we do this we'll need two new early techs.
2 - [Obs] The Lunar Fed and Orbital Unlimited flags are too dark.
3 - [Obs] The initial contact diplomacy is bugging me, but after doing diplomacy for haarbal's fantasy pack I know this is very time consuming. I'll jot it here to remember to fix it eventually.
4 - [Obs] We need an early cash/economy building. Where/when?

More to come

FYI, I already put one replacement back as first row tech, namely "Chartra Selene" ("Moon Charter" or "Moon Articles") as a basic tech on how agencies/companies and such must operate on the moon. It links to "Public Liberties", as Woodelf wanted a pre-one for that.

I can see that working. What does everyone else think? Thanks Geo.

An Earth trade building (either beaming power, or shooting resources into the sky or shipping He3). Becomes obsolete with "Cut Off From Earth" tech.

So a +x gp/turn generating building that gets obsoleted by the python event? Maybe the x could represent how many He3 Plants you have in operation?

How does this sound? I put a "Cut Off from Earth" tech at the end of the 1st era, but make it so every other 1st era tech needs researching first and no 2nd era techs can be researched until it's complete? It won't be exact for every civ unfortunately, but right now I can't think of any other way to do it.

:nono: no beelining in this mod :nono:

Beelining? I thought my solution was anti-beelining!

Right now the last tech to be researched in the 1st era is set, Isolation. And you can't get to the goodies in the 2nd era until you do that tech as well. It's like a roadblock or funnel! :D

I think that's what he meant.

I'm either having a blonde moment or there's a language/slang difference going on. To me beelining is making a direct line towards the goal. This potential solution might be restrictive, but it's hard a direct path since you need 23 other techs to get there.

Why is a tech needed to call that event? Can't you make it random somewhere between turn 40 and 50 (to put some numbers on it).

For now I just needed something to make it happen in game. Eventually I hope we can figure out if it needs a time trigger or something else.

thats what i'm trying to say :p
the first thing i thought off, was that you couldn't beeline anymore, so i thought :nono: no beelining :nono:

uh.. you misunderstand. The tech is not the trigger. The tech is the effect.
The trigger is to be determined by the XML folks/JBG. The effect is that everyone is given the "Cut off from Earth" tech, upon which can be keyed unit availability, building obsoletion, etc., etc.

Ah, ok. Got it now.
Perhaps I should have an alpha-version available to check what you guys talk about sometimes, some discussions would sure make more sense then. :mischief:

I have no problem with that. What does everyone else say? Of course, I don't know what the "official" version is now. :)

I don't have a problem with this either, I think you have the most "official" version ATM.

I do, but it would take me hours to upload all of the art folders. I can send you the XML later tonight and maybe you could upload the entire Mod like you have been?
