Making new Select/Order Sounds

I was wondering...

A lot of mods add new Civilizations like Italy and Vietnam, but they use select/order sounds from other civilizations, so why don't we propose making some? There could be some Italians or Vietnamese-speakers on the board right now.

I also want new sounds for Civilizations such as Mexico and Venezuela, who ordinarily use those from Spain. But considering that England and America have different select/order sounds (and Canada, when modded in, also has custom sounds), shouldn't these Latin American civs have them too?

The idea isn't bad. The first step would be to listen to all english (or whatever language you undestand) quotes, and make a full list, of what quotes are needed, how long they can/may be and perhaps languages missing... Then people could just look into that list, and maybe fill some voids.

Select 000- "As you wish."
Select 001- "Move out!"
Select 002- "Certainly."
Select 003- "We're on it."
Select 004- "No Problem."
Select 005- "Consider it Done"
Select 006- "Very Well."
Select 007-"On our way!"
Select 008-"Get moving!"
Select 009-"You can count on us."

Order 000-"Reporting for duty."
Order 001-"At your service."
Order 002-"Tell me what to do."
Order 003-"Awaiting your orders."
Order 004-"Ready for action!"
Order 005-"What's the plan?"
Order 006-"Yes?"
Order 007- "Your orders?"
Order 008- "What do you need?"
Order 009- "All present and accounted for"

Here are the sounds in Italian (I wrote them, KrugerPritz corrected them.):

Select 000- "Come Lei vuole."
Select 001- "Andiamo!"
Select 002- "Certamente."
Select 003- "Ci pensiamo noi".
Select 004- "Non c'è problema."
Select 005- "Consideralo fatto."
Select 006- "Molto bene!"
Select 007- "Incamminiamoci!"
Select 008- "Cominciamo a darci da fare!"
Select 009- "Può contare su di noi."

Order 000- "Ci presentiamo a rapporto!"
Order 001- "Al Suo servizio."
Order 002- "Dimmi che cosa fare."
Order 003- "Aspetto i suoi ordini."
Order 004- "Pronto per l'azione"
Order 005- "Quale è il suo piano?"
Order 006- "Si?"
Order 007- "I Suoi Ordini?"
Order 008- "Di cosa ha bisogno?"
Order 009- "Tutti presenti sani e salvi."

I had a little help from the Spanish Firaxis sounds, and we probably need them to make the sounds for Latin American countries.

Select 000- "Como lo desee."
Select 001- "Vamos!"
Select 002- "Ciertamente."
Select 003- "De eso nos ocupamos."
Select 004- "No hay problema."
Select 005- "Tómelo como un hecho."
Select 006- "Muy bien!"
Select 007- "En camino!"
Select 008- "Vámonos!"
Select 009- "Puede contar con nosotros."

Order 000- "Presentándome para emisión."
Order 001- "A sus órdenes."
Order 002- "Dígame que hay que hacer."
Order 003- "Espero sus órdenes."
Order 004- "Listo para acción!"
Order 005- "Cuál es su plano?"
Order 006- "Si?"
Order 007- "Sus órdenes?"
Order 008- "Qué necesita usted?"
Order 009- "Todos presentes sanos y salvos."

I could use a few languages for my mod... any Thai or Polynesian speakers out there?

And I asked this somewhere else but I don't think it was ever answered... anyone know what language the Native American sounds are?

Cheers,

You need to specify which Polynesian language... I think Hawaiian would fit best (or Samoan, if Salamasina is present and Kamehameha isn't). It's more well known.

I have no idea what language the Native Americans speak. My guess would be Lakhota, if only because Sitting Bull spoke it.

It's just a suggestion from a NOOB: but wouldn't be navajo okay for native Americans? Well, it may not fit for older civilizations from meso america, like Mayans or Inka. But it would be okay for Indians of northern America (is the word Indian actually politically incorrect?).

Unfortunately I don't speak Navajo...

You might want contact Kao'chai (Spelling ?) he was working on east asian Civs and leaders, and i think he's freom south-east asia himself.

He lives in the Philippines... maybe we can get sounds in Tagalog.

I would be satisfied with either Hawaiian or Samoan...

Speaking of Ideas, strategyonly, I think one of those Israeli mods you used to make your Civ had select/order sounds in Hebrew. Why don't you check into it?

I want a good Australian set.

I looked but i didnt see any there, sorry, but all the ones i have will be in my next version of NWA, alot of LH diplo's mainly, not so many select order etc.

Anybody who speaks Portuguese, I want Brazilian sounds. Could you decifer the Portuguese text for me? It seems to be European and frankly, unintelligible.

Here's what I can come up with... these texts aren't based on the Portuguese ones, but adapted from other ones and in a distinctly Brazilian dialect.

Select 000- "Como deseja."
Select 007- "A caminho!"

Order 002- "Que faz a gente?" (From the Latin, "Quod facemus?")
Order 007- "Suas ordens?"
Order 008- "Que precisa?"

I want to add a West Indies civ to my mod... and a Jamaican select/order sound pack would be perfect for it...

I'd also like on in Venezuelan Spanish. I just added Venezuela to my mod.

Cuba's in my mod, too... anybody live in Miami?

Do you really need all the different spanish dialects? I know a bit of spanish and although all of the countries have different dialects, I dont consider them the be differnt enough to warrent a full language re-do.

Well, you know, England and America have different select-order sounds, so why shouldn't the Latin American nations have them, too?

THe only reason that they have different sounds is that they were Firaxis made. If I didnt speak english, I couldnt tell the difference between the English and American sounds.
