Are you or have you been dominant in any area in life?

What does it or did it mean to you?

If you aren't, do you miss that feeling?

I studied in a female dominated area (languages) work in a female dominated profession (accounting), live in a town with more women than men and only have sisters.

At least I am taller and stronger than (most) of them.

Welp, I guess I'm certainly physically stronger than nearly all of the women I've ever met. I know of one exception, and she's on the national powerlifting team.

What it means to me, in practice: I can make myself useful by lifting heavy crap, and that is nice.

I don't understand this thread, but like a jackass, I feel the need to voice my opinion.

As for dominance, I'm dominant in every area of my life. :).

Okay, I'm actually not dominant. But I am kinda sorta smart. Or I used to be. I can ace any test given to me. But I found that had limited real world application. :)

Yea... I used to live in a flat with 3 girls and me being the only man, I certainly enjoyed lifting stuff, repairing something and become useful ... considering that they were making most of the cooking and cleaning.

I ate a whole pizza once.

I have a drawer full of empty batteries and instruction manuals for appliances I no longer own. I AM MAN.

I pooped 3 times yesterday.

[I had Cuban and Red Lobster in the same day...]

Not really, I'm good at certain stuff but theres always someone among my friends who can beat me now and then. Wouldn't say dominant.

Its a nice feeling to beat someone at something but I don't rate it as highly as other guys I know.

Its definitely a male thing, though not exclusively either.

The dominance aspect can usually be clearly seen in sports.

When males compete the victor typically feels pride while the loser feels humiliation.

When females compete they usually hug each other afterwards. The winner feels compassion for the loser, and the loser feels joy and happiness for the winner.

You must be joking, my friend

I'm not an alpha male by any stretch of the imagination, but I can easily wing it and make others think that I am.

The office I work in is 90% women, but that has nothing to do with dominance, really.
