Marians: Sons of Mars

I purchase 5 armies, using 3 to finish off my rebelling provinces to the west and 2 to finish of Argentina. I put 5 gold in each tech, and the rest to my treasury.

Oh and I offer a royal marriage to the Inca.

The Albioners have been boring for an extended time, and have resurfaced. Dumping all gold into the Infrastructure Line, Albion has been expanding into the Faroes and is preparing a mass settling of somewhere new...

The Albioner Armies are prepared to fight if they must, but are currently in Britain and Ireland.

The next update will be delayed - the front page crashed while I was editing it. As a result, almost all of the rules have been obliterated!

Amazonian Revolts

The Amazon has built up a large force to crush its revolts before they can spread. First, Ecuador must fall.

5-9.
24-12.
10-18.

Amazon fails to defeat the Ecuadorians. Ecuador has one remaining force, which it uses to counterattack:

18-20. No luck.

The attack on Argentina:

18-22. This Amazonian army was destroyed.
11-21.

Amazon was wise enough to keep one army at home to defend in case of failure.

11-3. Amazon is defeated, losing a province to the Argentine political rebels. As three provinces are in rebel hands as of the end of the turn, they will not collect income from them next turn.

---

Inca reject the Amazonian offer, but Amazon can try again next turn.

Next turn the Amazon is going to open a can of whupass. I have had ENOUGH of these mother f*cking snakes on this mother f*cking plane.

A preview for the next turn, which will come soon.

Introducing new NPCs. As my warning in poetic form told you, they are going to be taking some rather inconvenient lands this turn. Have fun!

These bad boys will each get 8 provinces.

-Kingdom of Naples
-Morocco
-Ceylon
-Madagascar
-Colombia
-Mongolia (Remember that you left huge open spaces, and since you like to protest realism, here's a big hit at realism - a new nation appears inside yours!)
-Takrur
-Fiji(starts with 6 provinces - 2 home provinces + 4 colonies)
-Mesopotamia
-Syria
-Poland

I believe this will be the last round of NPCs.

All orders locked.

I quit! Bye

Update 10

sonsofmarsturn10stats.png

Incidents

Catalonia has risen against the Iberians, desiring a conversion to Hinduism!

Southeastern Nubia has revolted against the crown, desiring to rejoin Ethiopia.

Venice has revolted against Austria, inspired by the Hindu cause in Catalonia.

Events

Albion had a border dispute with France. Albion has a casus belli on France for turn 10 and turn 11.

Great Lakes had an economic boom, and so will collect 15, rather than 14, income.

Austria had a settler rush.

Inca had flawed research, losing 25 units of gold!

Succession

No events of note - the Aztec Emperor is alive and well and there are no succession disputes.

Religious Events

Hinduism - Lombardia and Carthage (60%), Iberia(50% + 5% = 55%); Rome, Nubia, Germany, Austria and all countries in contact with Carthage are at 50%.

Iberia: 1
Rome: 0
Nubia: 2

Judaism - Kiev has 60%, Novgorod has a 55% chance, everyone else in contact with Kiev(Germany, Austria, Astrakhan, Novgorod, and Rome, Na-Na-Nine) has a 50% chance.

Kiev: 1
Novgorod: 0
Germany: 4
Austria: 2
Astrakhan: 0
Rome: 1
Na-Na-Nine: 0
Nubia: 1
Persia: 1
Hedjaz: 1
Cyrene:
Sweden: 4
Norway: 1
Naples: 2
Poland: 1

Switzerland, if it was between several humans rather than a bunch of NPCs, would be a GREAT ground for border dispute casus belli right about now. Maybe I'll break the "NPCs don't claim first" rule just to generate some excitement in Europe

Iberia gains an income of 50 this turn. 32 is devoted to finishing Diplo 3. We combine the remaining 18 income and 19 treasury towards Diplo 4, which will cost 44.

Desiring Diplo 4 immediately, Iberia goes fishing for a loan of 7 gold, with interest to be debated. Naturally, we ask the Romans first, due to our good standing with them and previous business transactions.

2 armies are sent to smash those fools in Catalonia.

Iberia claims Madeira, our first colony.

We finish reserach on Infra 2 and begin on the Diplomacy tree.

Albioner Explorers have returned with a map detailing locations. They explain that they left a small settlement full of Albioner Explorers and Natives they found in a village on an island.

They also found Yetis in Greenland.

The Albioner King, Alfred, has died and his son, Alexander I, has come into power.

Spoiler :
britannianclaims.png

Naples converts to Hinduism, as 6 of 8 provinces are Hindu, while the latter 2 are Jewish. Both provinces will be tested for religious revolt, with a risk of 20%.

Both provinces do not rebel. Naples completes its transition to Hinduism without a hitch, improving relations with the Hindu world and also enriching Carthage further.

Naples and Milan both lay claim to central Italy's remaining provinces. Milan, by seniority and power, gets first priority, and thus a CB on Naples.

---

Germany gains 42 gold. 28 towards Diplo 3.

29 gold is used to earn Army 3.

1 territory claimed.

---

Austria earns 44 gold. 28 put towards finishing Diplo 3.

2 territories claimed.

---

Japan earns 30 gold. This is combined with the treasury to earn another Civics.

2 Vietnamese provinces are added to the list of Japanese colonies.

---

Na-Na-Nine, now condensed after a revolution, earns 39 income. 17 is spent taking Infra 2.

Na-Na-Nine throws caution to the wind and colonises 5 Mongolian territories, to drive this new threat into the Siberian wastes! (Na-Na-Nine made sure to pillage/pack up whatever they could on the way out, ensuring nothing will be there for the Mongolians)

---

Zululand researches Civics 4 and places the remainder towards a new military tech. Zululand claims 4 territories.

As a result of this, Zululand finally contacts Nubia. It is discovered the Nubian army is larger than that of the Zulu! They are not as well-trained, but the size of such a military alone insults the High Chief, who spits out the rebel blood he is drinking upon hearing the news. Such blasphemy! Zululand will now gear itself towards more military expenditure.

---

India researches Infra 3 and Military 2 with its sizable 52 units of income.

India claims 1 territory, as RR is quite high and a repeat of the Pakistani War is not desired.

Iberia attacks Catalonia

24-14.

Austria attacks Venice

20-6.

And so, the Hindu Uprising is extinguished before it can become a problem.

Right. So, I was going to go for the Stalinish approach to rebels, but I thought of a possibly better way.

First things first, I again offer a royal marriage to the Inca.

As this is update 10, I move my protectionist slider to 0, or -1 if I can only move 1.

I offer the Argentinean rebels this deal. I grant them independence, and these 4 provinces, for peace. In exchange, they become a vassal state.

If they refuse this deal, I create 5 more armies and attack them 4 times.
I attack my rebellious western province 4 times.

Gifted provinces marked with blue triangles, claims in red.

sonsofmarsmap10.png

While the Argentine rebels are political and desire decentralisation, they realise that by becoming vassals, they not only enlarge their dominion, but also can decentralise that as much as they desire, while ultimately reporting to the Amazonian leadership.

The rebels, therefore, accept the agreement, becoming the free state of Argentina. This state will start with two military techs, two armies due to their military heritage.

---

You last moved your slider on Turn 7, so you have to wait until Turn 12. :p

---

Attack on Ecuador

23-9. Rebels easily crushed. Ecuador's rebellion is at last dealt with.

---

Inca accept the royal marriage!
