Massive C2C Humans Vs Humans Game/Lets Play Setup

But... Is this time, right at the time you posted the time that you would usually take your turn? Because that's what it's for and since Joseph posted his virtual turn before you he will have his turn before you ;)

Oh duh! Yeah, that point or about an hour later would be my turn time. Nevermind.

Okay, taking virtual turn now...

... ordering virtual units ...

... assigning virtual city production ...

... hit virtual ENTER to end virtual turn ...

... and virtual crash to desktop.

Just kidding. But I wanted to make that joke. That's exactly what forced me into total war in my previous Let's Play thread. There was a repeating CTD that caused me to have to take out everyone before the fatal turn could roll around.

Next player, please.

Fantastic... One more person to take their turn, hope try haven't forgotten?
Also, that would take us back to my turn again in an hour

Oh no, I hope I dont have to remove Epi3b1rD from our hvh c2c game... If hes failed to take his virtual turn (even though I've pmed him like everyone else) how reliable is he gunna be taking his real turns?

What do you think I should? I'm thinking give him 48 more hours to reply and if he doesn't then we will have to start without him and ill remove him from the list. On the bright side that would give us 10 players which is easier to manage and a nice round number. Still, I don't wanna kick someone out of this just becasue they have forgotten to log in today. I guess 48 hours is best... where will I place him in the turn order though?

Btw... I gotta say this turn order is awesome! Im just lucky because nobody really takes a turn around the time I do so its quite flexible...

I'm pretty sure he's been asleep since the last person who took their turn. It's not even 5 am there now.

Yes but we went through a whole cycle... I would have already had my second turn by now since its been over 24 hours since my first... Where in the cycle does he come? He missed a whole cycle...

Well, if you look at his profile, it says the last time he visited was before you even announced that you all were taking simulated turns. He probably isn't even aware that that's what you're doing.

Cut him some slack.

I said I'd give him 48 hours... That's cutting some slack. Also, it's not Halloween... At least not in my time zone, and Australians don't celebrate it much either but hey, he's not Australian right?

Not enough, in my humble opinion. And um, no. He said he was in U.S. eastern.

You're chastising him for not taking his turn on time, and you don't even know what timezone he's in, ergo, when he should even take his turn...?

He is UTC -5 which means North American Eastern time zone.

And yesterday when you started it was Halloween (aka October 31st).

I wonder if Hurricane Sandy got to him.

Fine, he's got till v27 is released... When's that exactly? Oh but then the svn will need to be set up and then the game so ok, he's still got a while before we start.

Btw since when am I beating him/serverily punishing him? I've looked up chastising and that's what it said lol ;)

Oh and I'm nicer than I type. I was actually going to give him more time but I said 48 hours just so you wouldn't think I was a pushover... Otherwise if I'm a pushover you're gunna thrash my cities lol ;)

Bet he's without power still on the east coast after Sandy.

Bet he's without power still on the east coast after Sandy.

Even the leftovers that traveled North took some power out of places.

Not NEARLY as bad as some of the States though from what I've been hearing.
We've just had a day with high winds, and rain... but its autumn so that's fairly normal.

Looking at his profile might give a clue as to his location. Hope he's okay.

On a side note: On Epic speed it will take ~250-280 turns to reach Writing and be able to begin Diplomacy with SaM Option On.

Tribalism can be reached ~ 22-16,000 BC, Sed Life ~ 12000BC to 8,000BC. (Forgot to write down # of turns dang it.)

This blew my brain.

Was anyone else aware that "to chastise" meant a SEVERE criticism/punishment, rather than a mild one?

I have always heard and used "chastise" as meaning "a light, somewhat nagging scolding", and here all the dictionaries are saying it's something far more brutal.

That's crazy. I have a great difficulty accepting this.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who thought "chastise" meant "mild scolding".

Like any word the society that uses it changes it. In ancient times chastise could mean up to getting a physical beating by a rod or whip. But as time progressed it was watered down, so to speak, to a verbal haranguing, make your ears burn type of thing. It's "scope" was broaden so it's usage became more relaxed.

Now, it's been watered down to what you've described.

Since I'm "old school" if I chastised one of my children 30-35 yrs ago they usually got a spanking.

My parents were of that similar kind of school.
I think I'll probably follow something similar. I'm not fond of the current 'bubble children' theme.
Granted, maybe that will change when I actually have a kid.
Who knows, either way. Looking forward to this.
Right now I'm just setting up tortoise on the laptop to commandeer. :P
