Medieval European Mod II 2016-10-05

Could it be that I unpacked into the Scenarios folder first and then realising that that was rubbish click-and-dragged the package into the Conquests folder?

Also, my preference screen is a bit wild, the boxes don't correspond at all. And my victory status screen is a mess. Apparently, I'm ruler of 20,000% of the world's terrain...:crazyeye:

Apart from these minor details the mods running fine. I'll give it a try unzipping straight into the right folder, see what happens.

That is something i experienced with other scenarios but not with MEM...
Weird.

That's definitely a problem with labels.txt.

Is your version of Conquests fully patched up? (If you have complete, then it is already fully patched). If it is, then maybe something happened with the DL, to mess the file up (it's happened to me before), in which case, I'll send you mine. :)

@ virote: It's the Complete version. It was bought in Germany, if that's any help, although the texts are all in English. I'd really appreciate a proper version of the mod but if a patch will do the trick, I'll take that as well. ;)

How are you going to send it, load it to an uploader and I'll download it from there?

You need the latest patch for civ to play the mod properly. I'm not sure if Complete includes the latest patch though.

@ virote: Unfortunately not. :( Interestingly though, when I'm on the starting screen for Conquests it says '1.00' in the bottom left corner. Does that mean that my version of Conquests is not fully patched after all? Which version is the current patch at? Maybe that has something to do with it.

Do the mods have any ideas?

edit: Ah Yoda. Talk about symmetry. Have't reloaded this page for a bit and didn't see your answer. I'll check it out!

Thanks. :) Just one thing: what's the deal with Bubonic Plague? There was a breakout in my capital and it's spreading fast. Five of my currenly nine cities are already affected. Is this a random event or is it triggered by something? Didn't find anything in the pedia... Any chance I can spread this to my neighbours? :D

Damn. Sorry modders (or anyone), I have another thing. This has also very likely been answered, but the useless Google search here in the forums doesn't help me one bit.

I've just conquered the Kingdom of France and wanted to make them my vassals. But how? The pedia doesn't go into detail on how this is supposed to be done.

(I really should go to bed...)

The bubonic plague is a semi random event. You can't really controll it in any way, but your enemy is probably hit too, when you are.

The vassal states work like this: Each civ can build a special wonder in their capital. Then if you have the right goverment (specified in the pedia) you can build the vassal state inside your enemys old capital.

Remember though, if your enemy has not yet builded the kingdom wonder, then you cannot create a vassal state.

Must have overlooked it. I guess you'll find that in the building queue, right? I am Feudalistic and France have built their Kingdom, so it should work. I'll check again tonight. Work hours do seem longer since I downloaded the mod....

Don't you also need a certain number of cities like forbidden palace?

Yes sorry, I forgot about that. Just like the FP, you need to have a minimum of x cities before you can build it. The limit is not very high so you should hit it fast, if you haven't already.

I really enjoy the balance and depth of this mod.
I really get a feel for the times and it does not seem
wise to play this the same way you would a conventional game.

I'm having a blast as the Tatars.
Even though I know they really weren't by that time and terrain,
I wish those keshiks and tumen were stronger!
I am getting a little over extended and not feeling as secure
as I should be.

I see no reason to venture south and get involved in
the quest for the holy land or go on an expedition.........

I've only played muslim civs so far so I am probably missing some flavor.
I think I will try as Castile next for sure. If you can defeat the cohabitants
one should be able to make Iberia a impregnable fortress that's full of goodies
and be close enough to send a powerful force to the holy lands.

YEs Jonnyjal we have same fine taste I assume. MEM is to mods what Rood is to scenarios, best of the best (along with a few others in the crem de la creme feild)

Holy land is not that close, good luck :p I recommend starting with a link through the small mediterranean islands in case you need to fall back, that way you can rearm much closer to holy land and even launch some "diversion" north or south of Jerusalem to attract AI troops in an attempt to weaken the city a little bit.
