Seems absurd, any reason why?

They're distractingly colorful? Best reason I can think of, although one of our options for uniform shirts is a bright red, and I read in a trivia book that may or may not have been accurate that our eyes are more drawn to read than any other color, so you think they'd fix that problem first.

I wouldn't consider plaid all that distracting unless it was yellow and lime green er something, in fact, plaid is usually very tame. But whatever, I get to make the new thread! Neat!
