Mitt "No insurance for uninsured with pre-existing conditions"

I think some of you are forgetting just what government you are talking about here. The US struggles to pull of even simple social programs without jacking it up.

I am not even against a socialistic government. I am against trying to create a socialistic government in a capitalistic environment.

Although there may not be that many capitalistic individuals left? Who knows?
You are in serious need of looking up definitions.

Probably; in most countries it happened after a bloody revolution. At least in the US, all people are loosing is their money, dignity, morals,.....

It would appear that the first definition Timtofly needs to look up is for "definition".

How many people did yahweh murder instituting those evil kibbutzes?

Exactly my fear of UHC here in the USA...
I have absolutely nothing against it on principle, I just have 0% faith the US government could ever pull it off. The government both on a federal and state level already fail to pay medical professionals properly for the services they give people getting government aid. Why should anyone hope they could successfully run and pay for a universal system? If you cant pull off Medicare/Medicaid properly, there should be a giant red warning sign.

I'm saying you have a poor grasp of present and past situations, pertaining to the subject.

You sure stated it it in a strange way. Is it a crime to state one's opinion? Is it ok to bully one who state's their opinion? It seems to me that when you throw a rock into a pack of animals, it is the one who gets hit that makes the most noise. It is very debatable who is throwing things around here, but still...

I am not taking sides, nor trying to "debate" anything. I am just stating things as I see them. I realize that no one likes to "hear" other peoples opinion, but until it is wrong to post them here, I am going to continue to do so. As I hope every one here continues to do so, educated or not.

If you can come up with a universal health care system in which the Federal government has no role then I would interested in discussing it.

Why should the federal government have no role? There are 30 nations in the world where the governments do a better job than the private sector in the US. And for that matter, the US government does a better job than the private sector already in terms of Medicare.

Seeing how stupid and inept many of your states are I hardly see any alternative.

I know nothing about building homes, yet I can have an opinion about it. Is my opinion valuable to a home builder? My point is that many people have opinions on government initiatives and performance while having little understanding or knowledge beyond regurgitating whatever the various pundits feed them.

I am my alter ego.

This, basically. I was a little brash before, and apologies, I'm just easily annoyed by people who go around spouting absolutes in the vein of "socialism needs violence to take root" or what have you. You could say the same for many of the capitalist societies that blossomed throughout history, making it entirely meaningless if you're putting them in the same ring.

Except those last two lines. I'm fairly clueless, myself.

Its easy to do a "better job" when you dont actually render payment to the full amount to the doctors. Private insurance could charge some amazing rates too if they did that trick.

Exactly, my dentist friend explained the problem to me...
The government renders close to 50% of what the doctor would charge... the co-pay never gets paid though... so, they get about 40% of what they would charge...
The difference is passed on to everyone else's insurance, making our rates higher.

I would rather have UHC than that, to be honest, but I think there are other ways to reform which could be tried instead.

Is that 40-50% of an already inflated charge?
