MMod

Same here, had the CTD problem, so very much looking forward to the new version.

I've only managed to find the github source repo on karadoc's page. I compiled the DLL but it seems to play like stock K-Mod with the Mastery condition being the only difference, so maybe this was just his fork to add Mastery for Mattygerst.

Also it seems that latest version was crash-prone. I would love to see this updated, but one of the major reasons draws of K-Mod for me is that it is MP-safe while Varietas Delectat has been decidedly not in my experience.

Is this mod still available to download? The two links in the OP are broken. I found an old version here, but its BUG was buggy and there was a nasty optimization issue that caused the game to run at 30FPS outside the World Builder.

I'm currently using Sourceforge for my packaged releases (and Github for the sources). I don't think Sourceforge is in much of a risk of being shut down any time soon.

Alternatively, you can also just point people to Github releases, they can also be downloaded as ZIP files. I don't think K-Mod is doing special repackaging (like FPKs or installers) so there is no real downside to this.

By the way, are you open to merge some of the fixes in the K-Mod forks into your repo? It would be great to have a functional mod in the "official" repo.

We finally get a life sign from karadoc and immediately you risk scaring him off by asking him to do stuff? :nono:

Welcome back, kara! :)

Got to use every chance you can get :)

Yes, I live. But my life circumstances aren't as they use to be. It not as easy as it once was for me to make and test Civ changes.

However, I have browsed through the change in DarkLunarPhantom's github project. There are a lot of valuable bug fixes in there, and many good "code-hygiene" changes. I've copied across most of the stuff I like into my own version; but I've also changed / ignored some of the changes.

There were a couple of bug fixes which I didn't like. ie. They fix legitimate bugs, but not in a way I could approve of. For example, I thought this change was a bit strange and inefficient; and I'm not convinced that it even fixes the bug. So I made my own fix for that one.

So, most of the bug fixes will be merged into K-Mod; but probably not all. Some of the fixes will be remade. And I'm not going to include anything that I don't fully understand (and I'm not necessarily going to have the time required to understand it all). For the time being, people will have to continue to use one of the forks if they want all of those other fixes & changes.

I have done some other work though. It's not ready to be uploaded, but there are a few good improvements. Nothing huge; but good.

Anyway, this probably isn't the best thread to talk about this stuff. I was really just looking for somewhere where I could just drop some files.

Sorry, all ... life just caught up with me for a couple years now.

I came back and saw that Karadoc has been active here and there and have sent him a personal message via email to inquire about aiding me to update MMod with the most recent version of KMod.
