As the Itzamna ships sailed into New Königsberg, many could not help but marvel at the massive buildings & electronic gadgets that filled the City; the vast majority had never seen anything like it before.
The ships docked at the harbor, after which the Lord Priest Maskab Balam led the delegates into New Königsberg. Soon, they were face-to-face with Legate Nozomi.
“Greetings, Legate Nozomi,” said the Lord Priest, “We have given much thought to your offer, and have decided that closer ties between our nations would be of a great benefit to us both. We look forward working with the East Republic Company over the years.”
“Thank you for accepting, Lord Priest,” Replied Legate Nozomi.
“As a token of our goodwill, let us present you with a gift- two Ixis Armies. They are skilled in the manipulation of metals & minerals, and are sure to serve you well,” said the Lord Priest.
The delegates exchanged diplomatic niceties, and soon the Lord Priest & his followers- sans two Ixis Armies, of course- were on their way back to the Heavenly Realm of Itzamna & the Four Bacabs.
------------
In the streets of Otoch K'aax, the Capital City of the Heavenly Realm of Itzamna & the Four Bacabs, Ek’ the Eagle Spirit has perched upon a root; he is overlooking two new regiments raised for the defense of the Capital.
Ek’ the Eagle Spirit: As you are all aware, the Demons of Ah-Puch have been raiding our territory with increasing frequency; because of this, we have decided to raise two new armies, devoted solely to the defense of our Capital & the surrounding territories. The job will be difficult, but you must never falter, & you must never retreat. Do you understand, men?
The Armies: Sir, yes sir!
Ek’ the Eagle Spirit: Excellent. Now, some of you may be wondering about the odd stone weaponry you are carrying. You may be saying to yourself, ‘Why are we armed with stone knives & spears when obsidian is both sharper & easier to work with?’ Well, the answer to that question is quite simple; the priests of Hun-Pic-Tok have been given extra resources. As a result, new temples devoted to him have sprung up, & worship of him has increased. Because of this, the God has seen fit to bequeath upon us copies of his mystical stone knives. Your weaponry has been blessed; the knives will never shatter, your throwing spears shall never miss their target. Do you understand, men?
The Armies: Sir, yes sir!
Ek’ the Eagle Spirit: Excellent. Now, go to your posts, and defend our Capital from demon incursions.

The Colonist looked out at the city he had built, and smiled, tears of pride falling from his eyes.
I helped to create this, he thought.
Ever since they had driven back the Abhorrents, life in the colony had improved dramatically. The strange energy that envelops Mobius was present in even greater quantities on Angel Island, and the colonists could feel it empowering them, filling them with energy.
Benjamin stretched out on the grassy hill overlooking the city, sunning himself. His thoughts turned to the fountain of red Chaos Energy the colonists had come across several weeks earlier…
The scouting party sent ahead by the colonists entered the clearing. What they saw astounded them. A swirling haze, over a meter in diameter, hovered in the center of the clearing. “A Chaos well,’ someone said. The energy was a deep, pure, scarlet in color, and just being near it seemed to fill the explorers with the fighting spirit.
“You stay here and guard the well from Abhorrent attacks,” said Benjamin, “While we return to the city & report the find.”
“Of course,” said one of those who had been assigned to guard the Chaos Energy.
Benjamin & the others returned to the City, & within hours priests had arrived at the well to gather the Chaos Energy. Benjamin remembered-
“Get up,” said K’i’ik, “Abhorrents have been spotted; we’ve got to fight them off.”
Benjamin snapped out of his daydream, grabbed his obsidian spear, & followed K’i’ik. As he crested the hill, he saw them, hideously deformed abominations, incapable of higher thought, sprinting up the hill.
Here we go, thought the Colonist.
As the first Abhorrents neared the hilltop, Benjamin & K’i’ik prepared to fight them off. One, two, three fell to Benjamin’s spear & K’i’ik’s teeth, when reinforcements from the colony arrived. Soon, half of the Abhorrent force had been killed, & the remainder was in full retreat.
‘Follow them!” shouted K’i’ik. “If we let them go, they will only attack again, in greater numbers!”
The colonist force pursued the Abhorrents for miles, but halted when the beasts entered the Black Forest.
“We cannot afford to mount an expedition into those lands without numbers on our side,” said an Owl Spirit, “We should return to the city before night falls.”
“You’re right, of course,” said Benjamin, and the colonists returned to the city.
