0) 1465: Several towns are in danger of flipping. Chartres and Rheims are garrisoned, as is Buffalo. Send cav out from Washington to take slaves. Boston and Tell Wilaya are razed. Several cities I reduce surplus growth to make engineers or police. Upgrade several cannons to artillery. I turn science up to get Espionage in 3.

1) 1470: Babylon sinks empty galleon. Londinium starts infantry. Arretium starts frigate. Hispalis starts uni. Houston builds harbor, starts lib. Agrippina starts lib. Syracuse builds court, starts market. Pollution near Rome. Leet cav takes Seattle, promoted to Master of Horse, make another army!

2) 1475: Babylon sinks another galleon. We need frigates to protect them! Hattusas starts infantry. Rome builds cav, starts Pentagon. We can also build Suffrage, but no point since we're commie. Artaxata builds cav, starts uni. Harran builds temple, starts frigate. Antium builds court, starts exchange. Even commies need to make money. Huamanga expands, builds worker, starts infantry. Pompeii builds court, starts exchange. Adana builds harbor, starts frigate. Brundisium builds uni, starts infantry. The French hate us--why? The Mayan war has been phony, so we make peace, extracting 26 from them.

3) 1480: Army razes Karana. Settler goes to new city site sw of ruins, runs by barb camp! Another army is redlined by a pike (WTH?) at Philly. Other army razes Philly. Verona in danger of flipping to Maya. Seattle has a good chance to flip without a garrison, but I kept it due to its location--a galley can go back and forth from Seattle to Buffalo in one move without exposing itself to harm.

4) 1485: Bab rifle kills off our redlined army. Espionage comes in and I have to decide between Sanitation, Refining, Steel, or Sci Meth. I decide to go for Sanitation. Cuzco starts market. Ugarit starts infantry. Nicopolis builds galleon, starts barracks. Tyrana builds temple, starts cav. Cumae builds infantry, starts exchange. Chartres builds temple, starts aqua. Iron Town builds frigate, starts another. Hillandale starts cav. Juli builds worker, starts market. Gordion builds temple, starts market. Tyrus builds worker, starts lib. Mayans and France have learned Fascism, who cares. Corfinium and Mediolanum built, start walls. Army razes Miami.

5) 1490: Two cav outside are killed but they take several rifles with them. Paris builds lib, starts uni. Cory builds aqua, starts lib. Rheims builds temple, starts aqua. Neapolis starts SPHQ. Viroconium builds frigate, starts lib. Byzantium starts bank. Palmyra builds settler, starts lib. Seattle resistance crushed, whips to build harbor. Cav kills rifle, promoted to Roughrider, I decide to use leader to rush Intelligence Agency back home. Frigate takes on Babylon frigate, doesn't even scratch it. Upgrade more military units.

6) 1495: Harran and Hattusas expand. Pompeii starts the Pentagon. Andahuaylas starts court. Mayans have taken Alaca Huyuk from Aztecs. Claudius rushes CIA.

7) 1500: Rome builds Agency, starts exchange. Veii builds cav, starts bank. Nicopolis builds barracks, starts market. Aurelian starts cav. Corfinium builds walls, starts lib. Chartres and Gordion expand. Why can't we sink Bab frigates? We take San Fran, keep it since it has only 1 pop and doesn't resist. Treveri founded 3N of San Fran. We open Aztec embassy. Try to spy on Bab, but gets killed.

8) 1505: Babs sink another galleon. Paris expands. We get sanitation, start Sci Meth. Harran builds Frigate, starts another. Antium builds exchange, starts hospital. Cyrene starts aquaduct. Our frigate takes vengeance. Army attacks Akkad, redlined. 2nd army kills conscript, razes Akkad. Sirmium built. Mayans have wine, but want coal and iron for it. Fuhgeddaboudit!

9) 1510: Hattusas starts lib. Artaxata builds uni, starts hospital. Ankuwa builds temple, starts aqua. HR builds factory, starts hospital. Ica builds court, starts market. Nasca builds galleon, starts court. Eburacum builds court, starts aqua. Mediolanum builds walls, starts infantry.

10) 1515: Cuzco produces market, starts cav. Buffalo and Tarentum produce frigate, start libs. Seleucia builds aqua, starts infantry.

Forgot the screenie, will add later. We're in excellent shape. The RNG gods are still not completely happy with our frigates and spies, but on the military front we're doing great! We need to decide what to do once Sci Meth comes in--do we go for Hoover Dam, or go for Mass Production? We are far ahead in tech, as the others wasted time with Fascism.
 
Personally I like to use the ToE to get Atomic Theory and Electronics as they are the two most expensive techs in the IA. However, in this game we should be looking to conquer the AI civs without any thought for peace treaties. It may therefore be better to aim for tanks and transports asap. The decision should really be based on whther we can win the game before we get to the modern age. If yes then go for tanks, if no then go for Atomic Theory and Electronics.

I see you fared no better than me with the naval RNG. I can't wait for destroyers. :satan:

I think the plan from here is to keep on pumping out units and ships until we dominate the world.
 
Great set of turns gang. I'll start this evening.

We're working SciMeth so I'll start a prebuild for ToE. The quickest way to victory is certainly Domination so I'm inclined to do what I have never done before and spend the ToE wonder (assuming good timing) on Motor and Combustion. Then again, increased production from Hoover's could be a better investment towards Domination. Either way, we're not looking at holding out on ToE for Modern Age techs.

As mentioned earlier, rails need to be a priority at this time so rather than invest in infrastructure in the far away cities we'll pump workers and settlers.
 
Turn 0 – 1515 AD
We could get wines and gold from the Maya for Electricity but we really have no strong need for either. I’m a sucker for a nice, cheap table wine so I’ll check back later w/ some worn out tech. But I’m certainly not interested in giving any of the future subjugates a leg up on researching Replaceable Parts. Infantry are a real pain in the butt w/o tanks.

ToE, Hoover’s, and the Pentagon. Man, we have a lot of shields invested in the Pentagon already but it’s soooo tempting to change it to either ToE or a Hoover’s pre-build.
We still have Steel and Refining to learn before Combustion MassProd and Motor so I’m going to change over to a ToE pre-build, set up a Hoover’s pre-build (Usuff), take Atomic and Electronics and research towards Motor.

I really love workers after Rep Parts.

Turn 1 – 1520 AD
Our ToE pre-build won’t have 600 shields for 5 more turns so we can slow down research on SciMeth.
We are almost universally hated. I think I’ll declare on Joan once our trade deal w/ her is over. I really don’t like her attitude.

Turn 2 – 1525 AD
Killed 5 stray rifles and two privateers. :D

IBT: We lost our dyes.

Turn 3 – 1530 AD
Trade Aztecs Espionage for dyes and some gold. The Maya already know Espionage so I figure I’ll use it as trade material before the Aztecs get it from them.
Trade the Maya Commie for wines. Let ‘em make a government switch.
Kill a Bab frigate.
Found Augustadorum on the Isle of Babs.
We’re at the gates of Babylon but being patient as the armies heal and the arty gets moved within range.
BTW, bombing those damn frigates from shore would be a banner move if we can manage to catch them within range.

IBT: The Maya and Babylonians have signed a MPP. Hmmm, I really don’t want to lose my wines.
SciMeth is finished and we select Atomic Theory.

Turn 4 – 1535 AD
Research at zero w/ one scientist. ToE in 2 turns.
Cory now has a harbor and could use a mined grass. [Reminder to self]
Many WLTK days thanks to the happiness. Gotta screw the Babs out of that MPP. Bummer, the Maya didn’t wait for us to attack to declare on us. I was going to MPP w/ the Maya and then wait a turn for the Babs to attack.
Founded Trapezus and push the Bab boarder back a bit for a little easier movement.

Turn 5 – 1540 AD
Ha! Bomb two escorting frigates to 1hp and take out the galleon (and cargo) w/ a frigate. Sweet. :lol:
Babylon is bombed and blitzed w/ 3 cav armies and an elite cav. No GL. Since it’s a near lock to flip back we abandon it and replace w/ a city of our own. Say goodbye to the Sistine Chapel. Bar-Babylon raises from the ashes of Babylon.
We kill off four rifles and an LB making a weak attempt at a counter attack.

IBT: Both our trades w/ Joan are over and she has no interest in keeping them going. Evidently she just hates :mad: our guts.
The Americans signed a trade embargo against us. I wasn’t going to bother with them but now they’re dead meat.
ToE has completed and we now know Atomic and Electronics. Five techs away from Motorized Transportation.
Palace Expo.

Turn 6 – 1545 AD
We hunt down one of the wounded frigates and dispatch it. Our damaged frigate moves directly to port for repair. Ha!
Oh goody! Another flotilla of 2 frigates and a galleon to shell. Our three arty bat 1000 scoring three 2hp shots!
Two more Bab frigates are sunk and we get a promotion to elite. The game needs naval GL's as well as the naval equivalent of an army.
Arty in place and armies are healing to put another hurt on the babs.

OK, France is now of zero use to us. We declare Joan scum.
There are four rifles in Lyons and we redline all of them w/ 9 arty. Four cavs attack and Lyons is ours for a short time. We don’t have a settler on hand (poor planning :confused: ) so we’ll hang on to Lyons for one turn and risk the flip.

Turn 7 – 1550 AD
Lyons is abandoned and in its place is built Lions.
Another Bab frigate sunk.
Three rifles in Ashur are bombed stupid. Ashur is captured, raised and we build Assure.
13 cavalry go after Ellipi, which turns out to be a bit of a meat grinder. Ellipi falls at the cost of 7 cavalry. Being held for lack of a settler.
Bescancon captured, raised and rebuilt as BeScanky.

Turn 8 – 1555 AD
Settler arrives. Ellipi abandoned and Ellipse founded.
Shore bombardment and two elite frigates sinks another two Bab frigates.
Our great luck ran dry real hard as we loose an army attacking Eulbar. The next army delivers by killing off two rifles. We have an elite win as we take the city but no GL. Eulbar is wiped away and rebuilt as Beular.
Gads! We loose another army to a forted rifle. [pissed] :wallbash:
We take Tours and rebuild as "Ours".

An American galley roams too close to one of our frigates and I can’t resist. It’s war baby! Ehem, the galley sinks the frigate. Now there’s justice.
Running out of troops in the French war so we draft a few and get out the whip for about four infantry.

Turn 9 – 1560 AD
We sink another Bab frigate in the IBT.
Another stinking Bab frigate is bombed and sunk.
We found Bagacum.
Marseilles is guarded by two spears. Excuse me, WAS guarded by two spears.
Nineveh falls and we rebuild Jonah.

Turn 10 – 1565 AD
Scratch another Bab galleon.
After numerous elite wins we finally get another GL and can bring our armies up to 2. While loading the army I manage to mix in an infantry w/ two cavalry. Blah! The new army is redlined attacking Nippur.
We take Alaca from the Mayans.
Two pikes guard Avignon which we take at the loss of…. Sir Dbear.

Notes:
A few cities are a flip risk but not a big one, 2% or less. Do with them as you wish.
France is down to 4 cities and Babylon has only three on the continent next door but has a number strung out across the islands in the southern waters.
Bombarding ships w/ arty and the coming in w/ frigates worked quite well. 10 Babalonian ships sunk in all and the one loss that comes to mind was at the hands of an american galley. :cry:
Refining is due next turn.
Given that the Maya are lacking coal and iron I don’t think there’s going to be much of a need for tanks.
About every city on the Babylonian continent is set to build a temple for boarder expansion. We’re a little less than 400 tiles away from a domination victory. So it looks like if we finish cleaning of the Babs and French from the larger landmasses we’ll get the victory when we’re most of the way through the Maya.

It looks like this is my last set of turns.
 
Looking good. Artillery certainly helps swing the RNG in our favour against frigates. :D

I didn't leave much in the way of transports to the east of our continent. the best route to the Maya is probably west from our new Romylonian :D territories.

Also, the one Mayan city I did take last turn was done with two infantry over two turns.

I just loaded up the save and noticed that we have Radio as a tech to research. I therefore checked the 4000BC save and it was there too. Doc mabuse must have been running a modded version of Conquests and failed to tell us.

I don't think it really matters too much, it just means we have an extra IA tech to research.

I also noted that we now have 48% of the land. We can probably ignore the Bab island chain and just go after the Mayans and Aztecs.
 
I agree that we needn't go island hopping for the Babs. Once the main continents formerly belonging to the Babs and the French are captured and filled out, either through cultural expansion or settlement, the Mayan lands should be enough to get to 66%. I would lay off the Aztecs and keep our deal with them for their lux going.

Even though we are commies happiness is still a consideration. And the more cities we have populated with broad smiling citizens the more WLTK days we'll get w/ the little bump in production that goes with it.

The Aztecs are so far behind in tech that we should be able to get deals with them for virtually no cost. And, although island hopping isn't going to be needed to win, it could be fun. Especially if we can put together a marine army.

Veii is working on Hoovers for ~7 more turns. After that we should use it to produce armies. Honestly, I should have planned to build Hoover's elsewhere and had Veii pumping armies already. Especially since I seem quite skilled in getting them killed. :(

Eridu is the last babylonian city on our land. it should fall next turn, as it has 3-4 armies outside withsome nice arti cover.
We need settlers in former babylon asap (my bad for not planning this)
French job is done, but now peace yet. up to next in line to decide froggies fate.
i have some frigates bombing Inca luxs and rubber.
Rome should finish Battlefield Medicine in 3, suggest some happy treatment there.
 
For the next leader, please include pictures of Mayan spears and pikes fighting off cavalry armies. :)

I've checked the save and it looks like it will take a while to get some galleons in place to transport our troops.

We have 51.4% of the land, and the Mayans have 13.5%. Once a few cities expand and we take Eridu, we should have enough land at some point during the Mayan expedition.

I will consider some whipping to get culture in new cities.

I'll do my best with the :spear: pictures.

you might want to transport by leapfroging continents. shouldnt take more than 1 turn of sea each time, and those rails....

1645(8)- Quirigua razed.
New Antium, New Cumae founded.
I plant a spy with the Mayans. Their army is basically just rifles.
IBT- New Veii builds a harbour. We now have wines connected.

1650(9)- The only Mayan galleon is sunk.
IBT- New Antium builds a harbour. This connects a source of dyes, giving us all 8 luxuries.

1655(10)- Cuello, Calakmul, Tikal, Lagatero captured and razed.
Yaxchilan captured. 15 cavs fortified.
New Neapolis, New Pompeii, New Pisae, New Ravenna, New Hispalis founded.

Notes:

I have left units fortified in Yaxchilan and New Pisae + in the S of the Mayan lands. Move them as you like according to your attack plan. Many settlers here too.

We can keep Yaxchilan for this turn only. Cities cannot flip on the first turn.

I shipped some workers to the Mayan lands which have built rails between the new cities.

I have set up 3 transport sections. See the images below. Send the transports back and forth between the cities, then move units to the next port via rails. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask. :)

I didn't really pay attention to worker moves, I just did some random railing/irrigating. We are too close to the end for it to make a difference.

We need 85 more tiles to reach the domination limit. We have 62.2% of the land and 100 cities.

I have included an image of the Mayan army as well as the current minimap.

Motorised Transport in 2, though it will be too late to matter. DBear should finish this game within 5 turns.

The turns went almost exactly as Zakharov predicted.

1) I stole the plans from the Mayans. They had about 3 rifles in each city except for Chichen Itza with 4. The northern Mayan cities are razed.

2) Motors come in, I start flight. Switch production to tanks, though we won't need them. Only CI and another Mayan city are left on the mainland. Replacements for earlier cities built.

3) Americans sign a MPP with Mayans and declare war. :shakehead: Wipe the Mayans off the homeland.

4) Silly French drop off a longbow near their old homeland. An infantry deals with it. Replace cities.

5) Land army at offshore Maya city. A few of my other towns expand. We get the victory.
