Monarch SG, looking for trainers and trainees

I think we definitely need to get that iron in my image hooked up. We need to get some legions built asap. With two cities on the blue dots it will be easy to get a colony built.

good turns, soul warrior and zakharov.
It's a good thing we got one settler in the game and another in the making
I will occupy the blue dots asap.

"got it"

Off topic : just finished a warlord game. My aim was diplomatic victory, i did great on the trading and stuff, i was a whole era in tech lead. I had a GSL waiting to finish the UN, he did and then i forgot to grease my opponents.
Result: 5 votes for Theodora (i gave her my vote as well, well, she is kinda pretty, i'm such a sucker) and 3 for me (the Dutch). 14 hours of playing down the drain

off topic
@ doc. what a shame about your diplo win. always remember - it aint over till the fat lady (or theodora) sings :D
thanx for nice comments.
and i think you should now try regent diplo - if youre a whole era ahead... move up, my man... youre ready.

Bad news people, long story but in short, i'm out of pc, prolly for two months or so.
You can do with the game as you want, finish it leave it for later, you decide amongst each other.
I will be back but it'll take a while
Sorry for the inconvenience

Wait, did I get skipped?

@ doc - bad news, man. i guess that youll still be with net access, so why not be a silent player? comment on the pix we post, keep up the learning curve ;)
when u get a pc back - well start a new one aswell
@ all - how about we still finish the game?
@ formula51 - if u r after doc in line then i guess youre up.
who is next anyway?

a quick vote - yeah or nay for game completion?
i vote yeah

@doc, sorry to hear about your pc problems. Let us know if you get things sorted sooner than you expect.

I also vote to carry on. The original intent of this game was as a training game for doc, but it seems to have moved away from that. I think we should just carry this on as a normal SG (although I will still point out any rookie mistakes ;)).

I'm happy to pick up the administration of the game, ie. roster etc.

Should we look for a new player (assuming Formula51 and Jurimax both wish to continue)? Personally I'm ok with 4.

In that case the roster is now:

Jurimax - up next
Formula51 - on deck
soul warrior
Zakharov - just played

@Formula51, you weren't skipped. Only myself and soul warrior have played since you did. It just seems a while because nothing has happened for a few days.

I'm okay with continuing this.
BTW: Got it.

Will play tonight.

I'd prefer a fifth player to keep the load down, I'm currently active in 5 SG's but RL is also playing catchup on me.
If you guys don't want a fifth player then that's fine with me (I'll just sleep a bit less ;) )

Greetz Jurimax

Oh, ok. Hi jurimax! :wavey:

I'll start in a minute (just finished my turns for the emperor trading game, looking good BTW (check it out thru my sig)).
So my log and save should be up either tonight (GMT+1) or tomorrow evening.

Greetz Jurimax

Formula 51, could you swap with me, I won't be able to finish my turns in a timely fashion.

Sorry team, I will play after Formula 51 however.

Greetz Jurimax

BTW, sorry again

Alright Juri, expect them up in a few hours or so.

EDIT: Never mind, I'll do this tomorrow.

Doing it now.

Preflight - Nothing to switch, press enter.

IBT - Pachacuti demands philo, look at military advisor, says our military is weak vs. them, so I have no choice but to give it to him. Antium Worker>walls. some incan units move around.

975 BC - Move archer into Cumae, move settler pair to hill dot. Workers begin road from antium to cumae. Find Mayans. They are down a bunch of techs. Sell em Math for their 220 gold, emptying their bank. Both workers near veii irrigate cow, move troops around.

IBT - Rome finishes warrior, begins settler.

950 BC - Warrior in rome stays for MP, block land bridge so incans cannot settle south. Attack barb warrior with my archer, wins but loses 2 hp. Archer fortifies in cumae. MM antium.

IBT - Cumae Worker>walls.

925 BC - Worker from cumae mines wheat. Workers working on cow start road. settler in position. Give america Math for MM. sell philo to babs for 205 gp. Now have 1000 gp.

IBT - Barb moves towards warrior S of new city.

900 BC - Found Neapolis, put worker on cow til veii is finished its settler. Start worker, as it needs improvements big time (all plains). Move warrior to other city spot, move archer towards barb camp.

IBT - barb horse appears. Veii settler>warrior as it needs to grow.

875 BC - Archer is beside horse, but is going to fortify (horse is on mountain) Move settler to proposed city site. Worker near rome finishes mine, moves to Veii to improve terrain there.

IBT - Another horse moves to archer. Antium Walls>Archer, as we desperately need more units.

850 BC - Retreat archer, workers finish irrigating cow. Both connect the new cities.

IBT - Volcano has erupted S of rome, nothing hurt/destroyed. Rome settler>archer.

825 BC - Archer defeats barb horse, loses 3 hp. Settler moves to the river in the hills. workers road sugar @ antium.

IBT - Veii warrior>settler.

800 BC - Found Pompeii, starts worker. Neapolis changes to warrior.

IBT - Babs demand CoL, I say no, as the civs don't know each other and can't sign MA's against us. Recieve Bab DoW. :( Incans move a settler pair near our territory, block at chokepoint.

775 BC - Archer blocks settler pair. workers continue road to cumae, and one improves antium.

IBT - Incan Settler pair moves away.

750 BC - our Settler pair is in position. :)

My Thoughts after a reply.

The archer and a warrior outside of the screen are for blocking incans from settling the southern areas.

Random thoughts:

Pompeii should have gone 1NE. It is at risk from a volcano eruption. We will just have to hope.

Cumae is a flip risk. It requires 5 units to prevent, though this number may come down when it is connected to the road network. Should we get some culture in there?

I agree with the highlighted settler pair founding a town where they are.

I've been thinking some more about the Incan city N of Rome. They already had horses in their borders when it was settled, so I believe there may be a coal resource in those hills (as the AI likes to settle near future resources).
