A good use of your position would be to build your wife up, and insist on her becoming more capable financially (and support her when she's doing so), so that both of you could eventually contribute equally to your household expenses.

I have a feeling he's naturally drawn towards women who are in financially not-so-good position, at least compared to him. He has said that he was brought up to believe that the person with the most financial power calls the shots.

I'm just connecting the dots here, but if I'm wrong OP, please correct me.
