    MORE WONDERS FOR VP
    (minor stuff, fixes, balances and gathering material for next bigger update)
    This mod is continuation of similar work from @Infixo. Main goals of the mod are:
    • keep previous mod up to date with VP;
    • increase number of available wonders and at the same time keep number of built wonders per game the same;
    • spread World Wonders between different cities, instead of building stack of them in capital, using different combination of requirements;
    • add less known World Wonders to the game;
    and some more:
    • add new Natural Wonders, with balanced old ones, new abilities and tons of additional stuff;
    • improve many minor things like: better UI, additional voicebanks, improved art etc.;
    Below, I present to you a poll from original post, which was an inspiration for making this continuation:

    If you're overwhelmed by the number of exisitng wonders, I recommend you to use improved and adapted by me to Vox Populi Wonder Planner for VP.

    Other versions of More Wonders for VP between v0.8 and the most recent download, presented below, are available on demand, but I don't know, why you should need them.

    New unique optional stuff you can enable/disable adding verious gameplay experience:
    • Outdated World Wonders Ⓡ:
      • enabled by default;
      • now you will be able to block wonders from two eras behind your current era (f.e. ancient wonder in medieval era);
      • to disable it, find MW-MAX-ERA tag in 1.WorldWonders/SQL/MainRulesForWorldWonders.sql file and change "1" to "0";
      • more info at #182;
    • Flavoured Help Texts Ⓡ:
      • enabled by default;
      • these texts contain important numerical info, but also have some flavour instead of pure technical language (to better understand them, read the Key from below);
      • to return to VP style (original) help texts, find MW-HELP tag in 1.WorldWonders/SQL/MainRulesForWorldWonders.sql file and change "1" to "0";
      • more info at #290-291 - first attempts; now fully operational;
    • Feminine Voicebanks:
      • disabled by default;
      • this mod adds voicebanks for each World Wonder quote; these voicebanks are available in two versions: masculine (default) and feminine;
      • if you want to change the type of voicebank in your games to feminine, find MW-SPEECH tag in 1.WorldWonders/SQL/MainRulesForWorldWonders.sql file and change "0" to "1";
    • Hard/Light requirements:
      • Light version is enabled by default;
      • if you want to change the type of requirements to Hard, find MW-REQUIREMENT tag in 1.WorldWonders/SQL/MainRulesForWorldWonders.sql file and change "1" to "2" (do not set "0"!);
    Spoiler Key for "Flavoured Help Texts" feature :

    • single icon (+1:c5food:/:greatwork:) - local bonus; in this city
      • (f.e. +1 :c5food: per each :greatwork: Great Work in the City);
    • double icon (+1:c5gold:/:greatwork::greatwork:) - global bonus; in the empire
      • (f.e. +1 :c5gold: per each :greatwork: Great Work in the Empire/all Cities);
    • number with single icon (+1:c5production:/2:c5citizen:) - local bonus per number of things
      • (f.e. +1 :c5production: per each 2 :c5citizen: Citizens in the City);
    • number with double icon (+2:c5faith:/5:c5citizen::c5citizen:) - global bonus per number of things
      • (f.e. +2 :c5faith: per each 5 :c5citizen: Citizens in your Empire/all Cities);
    • - Terrain tile (the corresponding Terrain tile is marked blue);
    • - Feature tile (the corresponding Feature tile is marked green);
      • +1:c5science:/ = +1 :c5science: per each feature tile mentioned and marked in the text;
    • - Improvement tile (the corresponding Improvement tile is marked brown);
    • Building (icon; icon; icon) - free Building granted by the Wonder with its main focuses listed out in parenthesis;
    • Units, Promotions and Resources mentioned in the text;
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Known issues (fixed/temporarily fixed/waiting for VP response/hope to fix asap/no need to fix/not going to fix) (v0.13):
    • 43-civ version of VP is not working/is crashing:
      • find in the mod folder Addons/43-civ/AssignStartingPlots.lua file. Copy/paste it and substitute existing file in 2.NaturalWonders/DefaultFiles folder.
    • promotions "Trans-Siberian Railway" and "Bermuda Triangle" are not applied to some civilian units:
    • Tern Egg/Sylvite monopoly is not present in the Monopolies window:
      • its bonuses are tied to the Wonder; because resource does not appear on the map it is not shown in the Monopoly window; cause: VP; #314 and earlier;
    • icons of Natural Wonders do not show in Strategic View:
      • unfortunately, this is probably caused by Civ 5 limitation. Similar issue happens to resource icons in Even More Resources mod from @HungryForFood;
    • Mt. Everest is considered as a flat terrain:
    • multiplayer modpack CTD:
    • IsNoCoast restriction is programmed using lua; database is broken;
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    FAQ:

    • I don't know how to use ModBuddy and Github version:
    • I don't like a (beep) World Wonder. Can you make lighter version of your mod:
      • actually you can do this on your own. Open a file called 1.WorldWonders/SQL/MainRulesForWorldWonders.sql in your mod folder. Locate section named CONFIGURATION and read the instructions carefully. You can disable any WW you want;
    • Is it possible to turn off new Natural Wonders?
      • change "OccurrenceFrequency" value for particular Natural Wonders to "-1" in 2.NaturalWonders\XML\NaturalWondersLocations.xml file:
    Spoiler Occurrence :

    • How to make mod load order correct?
      • unfortunately Firaxis had broken the thing, that should have been working since the beginning of the mod API (mod refrences), so we must "help" the game order the mods. The process I personally use and can confirm as working consist of few steps:
        • open SQLiteSpy and: click "File" --> click "Open Database" --> find and open (this is my path) C:\Users\Adam\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\cache\Civ5DebugDatabase.db
        • open "COMMUNITY" table (look at the picture below);
        • if after f.e. "PO-MW" is "1", then it means the load order is correct; if there's "0", then:
          • you must cut out this first mod (in this case PO) from the "Mods" folder;
          • load the game with your mods;
          • exit the game;
          • paste the mod (PO) again to the "Mods" folder;
          • finally load all mods together.
        • repeat the process for all conflicting mods. Remember you can do that for few mods simultanuosly to save the time!
        • good luck and enjoy perfectly compatible modmods!
    Spoiler COMMUNITY table :

    • What is an Isthmus?
      • look here, but seriously, read the Google :)

    I have some ideas for another ancient era wonder

    You can try Wieliczka Salt Mine
    Its a polish wonder which I think has no rep? however it most prob be unlocked at mining
    Or
    Altamira Cave
    Its a Spanish wonder which has like one rep (alhambra), a prehistoric cave painting that can be unlocked prob anywhere in ancient era

    If those don't seem like a wonder you like
    Maybe a wonder from neolithic wonders? Although I'm not sure if enginseer is still updating it on bare necessities.

    I used neolithic wonders long time ago and was thinking of this recently. I like your suggestion about Wieliczka and as a Polish I will add it :) I like its idea to add Salt, but we would have 3 wonders in the same tech. Any solution for that?

    I think I could add Atamira cave along with neolithic wonders. It would give 5 wonders from start, but I need to think of conditions.

    And we need to ask authors of those mods.

    For the 3 techs at mining
    Maybe we can solve it by moving nazca lines?
    Maybe move it to trapping as some of their geoglyph are animals (e.g. Monkey, hummingbird, llama etc.)

    Perhaps a big condition would be all these faith wonders to be exclusives to one another (neolithic wonders, nazca lines, karnak and stonehenge?)

    Ok, I thinked about how to dristribute early wonders:
    • 6 neolithic wonders (without tech requirements, cheaper than ancient, can be built only during Ancient era):
      • 3 faith:
        • Ggantija from Malta (Plains, Hill): 2 :c5faith:, 5% global :c5food:, 25 instant :c5food:;
        • Gobekli Tepe from Turkey (Hill, River, Mountains in city range): 1 :c5faith:, 1 :c5culture:, 1 :c5science:, 1 :c5faith: per local Mountain, 1 :c5science: per local Stone, 1 :c5science: per local Marble;
        • Majorville Medicine Wheel from Canada (Grass, Hill): 2 :c5faith:, 1 :c5science:, 1 :c5faith: per local Plains and Grasslands;
        • Newgrange from Ireland (Grass, Flat, River): 2 :c5faith:, 1 :c5science:, 1 art slot;
      • 3 other:
        • Altamira Caves from Spain (Mountains in city range, 1 of [Bison, Deer]): 2 :c5culture:, 1 :c5culture: per local Bison, 1 :c5culture: per local Deer, 1 art slot, 5 :c5strength:;
        • Barnenez Mound from Brettany (Grass, Flat, Coast): 2 :c5production:, 1 :c5culture:, 1 :c5culture: per local Quarry;
        • Mojenjo-daro from Pakistan (Desert, Hill, River): 2:c5food:, 1 :c5culture:, 10 :c5strength:, free Well;
        • Skara Brae from Scotland (Coast, 1 of [Deer, Fish, Cattle, Sheep, Wheet], not Desert): 1 :c5food:, 1 :c5production:, 1 :c5food: per global Deer, Cattle, Sheep, Fish, Wheet;
    • Nazca Lines from Peru (Plains, Hill): moved to Trapping;
    • Wieliczka Salt Mine from Poland (Salt) at Mining: +2 Salt, 1 :c5production:, 5% global :c5food:, 1 :c5food: per local Salt; 2 :tourism: at Scientific Theory
    @pineappledan Could you look at this with your great balanced eye? Maybe you will have idea to make them more unique.

    Very good idea to create neolithic wonders.

    a note for nazca lines, their specificity, I think is their extent and the arid terrain on which they are. Instead of hill / plains, why not x nearly specific terrain (plains/desert/tundra) ?

    Having a wonder unlocked by a nearby luxury resource could mean the wonder is unbuildable, since the game only puts a portion of the possible luxuries on the map in any game. Maybe the wonder could place a salt resource underneath the city, since the Wielickza mines are in inside Krakow city limits? The city would then get the yields from the resource, plus whatever other effects from the wonder.

    I would be careful with early :c5production: or :c5culture: on a wonder. I would remove the 1:c5culture: per mountain on Altamira.

    Other than that, my other first impression is that all the neolithic wonders you listed are pretty close together geographically, except for Nazca lines.
    3 are from the British Isles, 2 are from the western Mediterranean, 1 from Anatolia and 1 from Poland. None form East Asia, Africa, or North America.

    Maybe 1 could be a medicine wheel? Another could be Mohenjo-Daro. Just seems a bit narrow right now. I would limit it to 1 from Britain at least.

    The problem is we can add only one terrain per building because it is in building table. Am I missing something? Same with prohibition. Better situation is with resources and features coz they have dedicated functions.

    I don't want that wonder to be frequent. If player met only 1 condition (luxury resource, for now marble in zeus and salt in wieliczka) then it will get very unique boost.There are 3 marbles per standard map (?) so at least 3 players will be able to fight for it. My small goal is to maintain number of built wonders and increase their majority. Restrictions avoid Wonder spam. That means some of them will not show up in cenrtain games, but in other they will substitute some that were there earlier. Better replayability. Every game different. Especially if someone disable starting bias.

    Good point on :c5production: and :c5culture:. I will keep that in mind.

    I will also consider those wonders you provided. I want to spread things out. Any suggestion what abilities they could have?

    Salt under the city will not work if someone build city on salt and then build Wieliczka. +2 Salt give similar effect, more happiness, monopoly, more possible trade, but less yields, without risk (rare but possible).

    Yes, I actually thought about that especially that your lua codes, adan, are clean and efficient.

    Otherwise, for the classical era :
    I like Malwiya Minaret and I hope you will keep it.

    One idea : Sigiriya (Sri Lanka) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sigiriya
    Hill/jungle, free aqueduct, few :c5culture: Culture and more :c5strength: defense (maybe :c5strength: per jungle), Masonry

    I thought about moving Malwiya Minaret in place of Solomon's Temple (which will be deleted from this mod; incorporated into VP's Israel) as a Religious Wonder.

    I'm in need of early Tundra wonder. Do you have any idea.

    An Ainu temple dedicated to mount Daisetsuzan (Kamui Mintara in Ainu language)
    Forest/Tundra or Deers/Tundra or harder mountain/tundra
    :c5food: Food on camps, :c5faith: Faith on mountains, an animist-sounding wonder.

    I would give you 0.3 version right now, but hell... I don't know why my 2 custom splash screens crash the wonder screen :( they have same resolution etc. Any ideas?

    I modified Majorville Medicine Wheel and Mohenjo-daro abilities. Majorville got Tundra req. Some wonders got Grass instead of plains for majority. Buffed slightlu Ggantija.

    I did all wonders for neolith and ancient era and started to think of classical ones. I would appreciate any feedback about so far programmed wonders. Any information about current build you can find on Github or main post of this thread.

    Also I would invite any artists that could make splash screens or icons better than me. All Neolithic wonders (without Goebekli Tepe) need such. Also Wieliczka icon is imo bad.

    Also wanted to add :c5gold: to at least one of those wonders, but it doesn't fit. Any ideas?

    I managed to fix the problem (dds splash files needs to be compressed in f.e. Gimp I use), so
    v0.3 is ready to use and test. Waiting for your feedback folks! 9 new wonders awaits!
    Any changes are on 1st post of the thread.

    I also post current plan for calssical wonders and current distribution.

    Any suggestion about what religious buildings (holy sites) can be listed? Originally there were:
    • Borobudur - Buddhism
    • Hagia Sophia - Christianity/Islam
    • Al Masjid an-Nabawi - Islam
    • Solomon's Temple - Judaism
    Solomon's Temple is cut, so I wanted to put other one in place (maybe even two). I thought about Malwiya Minaret or Schwedagon Pagoda, but both ar buddhist holy sites. I looked for Catholic one, but St Peters Basilicca is renaissance, Milano Cathedral was started in medieval, but finished in 1988, and there is no one built in classical or medieval to compare with them. As a fifth I fought about Hinduist temple. @pineappledan Do you have knowledge in that?

    I like it, but it was built in 1990. I would like to add something in classical/medieval era.

    Also looking for classical wonder different from Greece/Turkey/Mesopotamia/China/Egypt

    Mamallapuram is a 7th century stone-cut temple complex in Tamil Nadu (no wonders from the Southern Provinces of India yet). Could be worth looking into.
    Another possibility is Hampi, the ruins of the capital of the Vijayanaygara empire, or any of the temples there.

    Problem with Jewish wonders is that they dont exist :p None of the old synagogues are particularly impressive, imo. The reason we added Solomon's temple in the first place is we couldn't think of any other Jewish sites worthy of being world wonders. Between their Roman exile from Jerusalem and the Jewish exodus from Arab-controlled countries in the 60s and 70s, all the oldest jewish religious sites have been demolished. Maybe the El Ghriba Synagogue?
