Indeed! I normally do various pieces of the update over the course of two-three days, giving mini-updates as I go. Once I get everything done, I post the full, actual update and let everyone commence with spending. We're almost done with this one, don't worry; it's mostly just events now.

The Chinese Union proposes the following alternative treaty:

1. The Empire of China formally recognizes the Federal Union of China as a legitimate state encompassing the Chinese people. No reciprocal statement is necessary, as the Union has already declared as such.

2. The Empire of China pledges itself to non-aggression viz. the Federal Union of China, and vice versa, for a period of 15 years, beginning 1 January 3005.

3. The Empire of China guarantees the sovereignty of Jiangxi, Guangxi, Hubei, Jiangsu, Mays Promotions Inc., Yunnan, Anhui, Weird Manchuria, Shandong, Guangdong, Mongolia, Best Korea, the People's Republic of China, and the Empire of Mainland Japan, Soylent Inc., and the Kintobor Corporation.

The Soviet Peoples frown upon needless aggression by a larger country on an already crippled country. Somalia has shown that they refused to cooperate with terrorists, yet the capitalist force of China rallys against them.

I couldn't find the quote in the rules, but Tani changed it so that you can't use divisions the same turn you purchase them anymore, which means only your starting units were available for attack this turn.

Besides Dem's comments, there's also that divisions cost FIVE gold to recruit. Thus, you only purchased 2 that won't be available until next turn.

Loans of 5 gold for 6 gold or 10 gold for 11 gold are now available. 30 gold is available for investment; loans must be approved by the Chairs and are available first-come first serve. ==Overview==

It is the Year 3005. Important news are as follows:

Katterland has gained great influence in the third world due to its desire to weaken the first world grip on power in the UN. However, so has the Union of China, exposing imperialist overtures by the Empire of China and showing a belief in dialogue over force.

The twin Chinas have had their exchange of tense words, but there is no violence, despite many fearing the confrontation could quickly turn bloody.

London has charted the Bank of England, a rising star that's main method of business is mutual funds, but this is constantly expanding. Combined with London's status as the Secretary General, it has grown even more.

Oz, meanwhile, led the world's first war in several years, launching a surprise attack on Formatistan and gaining a huge swath of land and population. Their forces now approach the Formatter capital.

Somalia has also gained infamy due to an apparent willingness to deal with terrorists, resulting in massive embargoes and a Chinese blockade.

Crusaders-Katterland have a dispute over a territory in northern Egypt. If the dispute isn't at least partially mediated or resolved, their armies will open fire on eachother for it. This dispute was resolved with Katter withdrawal.

Profitably/share value fluctuates by -10% to +20% every turn.

You may buy a corporation's power for 10% of your income each turn.

Anyone who can command 50%+1 shares can alter the dividend rate, blacklist anyone who's not yet a shareholder from purchasing, and offer/deny the Corporations' powers to anyone for any price. Commanding 20% of a a corporation gives you its power free of charge.

As it stands the main ten branches are in their home nations, but they will soon be expanding and will reward nations that let them set up shop.
