You used all your raw materials to build armies rather than feeding your factories. Hence the GDP of 1.

It's an indirect long-term penalty of militarisation. There's no maintenance (gold or fuel), but large militarisation eventually costs one dearly.

The game has created quite a few opportunity costs due to the economic model. One must delicately balance the need to fuel factories with the need to have a useful army.

As for the militarisation penalty. Going over 2% of your population in military units (both navies and armies are counted as one for the purposes of the equation) will begin to incur economic penalties. To the tune of an extra 1% inflation per turn per 1% over 2.

@ Ailedhoo, You've had plenty of time to fix your economy, and since your not doing a good job of it I've decided to bring to an end our temporary arrangement (and it was intended from the start to be temporary) so you can use what would of gone to the tithe to get your house in order and your increased liberty to cobble together a decent establishment.

@ Various persons, the differences in who the letter is from are not random. Ergo the letter to Russia was a personal one from the Pope, the letter pertaining to the Imperium of Mann pertains to the Holy See (sovereign government of the Church), and the one regarding the territories in Asia pertains to the Papal States as a sovereign state entity with territorial interests.

Indonesia motions for the embargoes on Russia and Malay to be overturned. While aggression should be condemned, it is no longer within the mandate of the HITSGDP organisation to embargo Malay and Russia as the former is occupying no sovereign territory at all and Russia has practically no occupied territory, certainly less than the UKGBN.

Yes, the papal embargo on Russia ends since the reason it was implemented (the Polish problem) has ceased to be pertinent to papal interests. Oh and incidentally the papal states looks forward to continued good relations with the Manx, just not with them as a client. (I might grant Ailedhoo some money on the proviso its used to fix up the economy)
