Multipolarity III - Signups

In that case I got in early following the example of a nameless individual in America :p

compulsary preferential voting via secret ballot is the norm here Osmowstroyer. ;)

We the Neo-Ottomans don't care about this, we always say the truth.

That is perfectly understandable and we trust our muslim brothers at their word, afterall many nations have publically stated what candidate they intend to first and formost support, and we must take their words also as truth.

But the underlying point is that you need to list all candidates in order of your preference for the general secretary position when the vote comes around. Not just the one candidate you would most prefer to see in that position.

Tani, why is my endorsement still not listed?

I believe that reason has already been pointed out to you ;) :p

The final ballot listing is in.

Papacy - 7 endorsements (Bengal, Canada, Jung, Manx, Netherlands, Namibia, Poland). Respect for sovereignity; proposes to make it possible for the UN to intervene in cases of gross human rights violations and wars with no casus belli.

Thorvald of Lym - 4 endorsements (Cascadia, Aden, Algeria, Hyontou) Independent candidate. Platform of neutrality, professionalism, and lack of interest towards any one state.

Solitude - 3 endorsements (Malay, Romney, Spammers). Strong emphasis on separation of church and state in UN politics. Rule of law and freedom main priorities.

Singapore - 2 endorsements (New Zealand, Granada) Platform of states' rights and private state actions to resolve crises rather than UN action. Supports the status quo with the UN.

Tropico - 2 endorsements (Costa Rica, Ottomans). Platform of national privacy, use of embargoes to end conflicts.

===

Voting may now proceed. PLEASE PRIVATE MESSAGE ME YOUR VOTES. You may also vote for someone besides who you endorsed.

We are using Instant Runoff Voting, which is preference. As an example, your ballot could be:

1. Thorvald
2. Tropico
3. Papacy
4. Solitude
5. Singapore

1 is your first choice, 2 is your second, etc.

If you're not aware how it works, whichever candidate loses the first choice round will have their votes go to whoever was their supporters' second choice. If one state backs Tropico as a second choice and Solitude as a second choice, and they supported Thorvald, if Thorvald places last in the first round, then Solitude and Tropico will receive his votes.

Polls with close in 72 hours.

herp derp

I have read maybe two pages of this thread.

What country did I say I was going to be?

Reports show Thorvald and the Papacy to be quite close, with Singapore and Tropico trailing behind.

Namibian FAQ:

1) From what I know, Namibia is a socialist Republic with no opposition. Does this mean that Namibia is a dictatorship?

Of course not. Namibia is a Socialist Democracy and a Presidental Republic where the people rule, and has nothing to do with Capitalist Dictatorships. There is no opposition, because while in Western Democracies the people fight each other and the Parties care only for who will get in power, in Namibia our people are united and parties work with each other instead of fighting.

2) Why you flag has elements of the German Imperial Flag and your offical language is German?

Because Namibia was a German colony. So the people of Namibia speak German as their first language. Although the Germans did terrible crimes and genocides in Namibia, they also gave us a language and led to the various Namibian tribes to unite and become one Nation. So the German elements in the flag are to remember our colonial past. Also, lets not forget thet Marx was a German.

3) Can you tell us a Namibian hero, excpet Stalin, Marx and Lenin?

Of course. Hendrik Witbooi, along with Marx, Lenin and Stalin, is a national hero of Namibia. He is very popular in Namibia. Hendrik Witbooi was born circa 1830. Witbooi was educated at Rhenish Missionary and Wesleyan Methodist Schools in Namibia as well as at the Wilberforce Institute in Evaton, South Africa. First he took up employment as teacher in 1856 at Keetmanshoop, transferred in 1859 to Maltahöhe, and returned in 1865 to Gibeon at the request of the community and the Church to build on the foundations laid by his aging father.

Witbooi moved north on May 16, 1884, with a faction of the Khowese tribe. This was against the wishes of his father, Moses, who remained opposed to Hendrik's plans. As evidenced from his diaries (which contain a large portion of the surviving documents of Witbooi) he still admired his father greatly, in spite of their political difference. On February 22, 1887, Moses' chief rival, his subchief Paul Visser, had Moses killed and deposed.

Hendrik Witbooi held leadership at Gibeon in 1888, long after the death of Jonker Afrikaner in l861 caused a power struggle among the various groups for paramount leadership. Several combat incorparated various leaders ensured until Hendrik finally defeated his last chief rival, Paul Visser, in July 1888 and took over leadership at Gibeon. Hendrik retaliated on July 12, 1888, shooting Visser. This led to Hendrik becoming chief of the Khowese people. He began to unite other Nama tribes under his control as well. By 1890, Hendrik Witbooi was signing all his letters, ‘King of Great Namaqualand.

12 April 1893, while they were still sleeping, very early in the morning, the /Khowese people were attacked by the Germans at Hornkranz. Nearly all of the women and children were massacred, although Hendrik managed to escape with most of his fighting men. He campaigned against the Germans for two years, until the treaty of Gurus, 15 September 1894 where he agreed to a conditional surrender, and also to render military support for the Germans, later against other smaller tribes, like the eastern Mbanderu Herero, Afrikaners, Swartbooi's, etc.

During the war with the Germans in 1904-1905, Witbooi rallied his people with the conviction God had guided them to fight for their freedom from the imperialists.

On 3 October 1904, after serving as a branch of the German army fighting against the Herero for the last three years, Witbooi and the Nama revolted against German rule in Namibia.

Witbooi was killed in action on 29 October 1905, near Vaalgras, near Koichas. His dying request was: "It is enough. The children should now have rest." He was replaced by Fransman Nama until the Nama surrendered in 1908.

Although he was a Christian, we can see the Communist spirit in him. Now, although subjucated to criticism for believing in a Zombi and Christianity, he is considered a National hero of Namibia.

4) Why you have a German, Marx, and two Russians, Lenin and Stalin, as National heroes of Namibia?

Because those figures are the Messiahs of Communism that saved Namibia from Chaos and destruction and with Communism the workers of the world will unite!!!

You can now ask your own questions about Namibia!

ooc: Yeah, okay. Why does Namibia deny to be a dictatorship when it clearly is?

ooc: Propaganda, international prestige, diplomacy and many other reaons. Why China and North Korea deny that they are dictatorships?
