Extremely solid in every stage of the game, I don't know how Firaxis manages to keep getting Persia so right (on music anyway). Love the sweeping percussion in the later eras.

Scythia (Original composition) - 9+1=10 - Not a dreary snoozefest, but a darker and melancholic theme with great evolution, showing how ancient horse nomads built a great civilization. And I like the duduk.
Zulu (Uthe Ubhuti Asizomlanda, Bayisa, Halala, Shaka Mamba) - 12-3=9 - A great theme. I love how cheerful and nice it is. However, I'm not sure if it's a fitting theme for warlord Shaka...

Japan (Itsuki Lullaby) - 10 (=13 - 3) - There are no pieces left that aren't absolutely great, and Japan's theme bears a mention for its great Atomic Era version, in addition to the lovely earlier eras. But the melody doesn't evolve much between the eras, so it doesn't stand out as much as the rest of the running/
