Myth01- Training Day- Regent

lurker's comment: You can only trade for cities in Vanilla, I believe. Maybe PTW too, but definitely not in Conquests. You can gift cities but can't ask for them in trade. You can demand them for peace, also. But no trading them. Sorry. Blame it on Firaxis for taking away that possibility.

I remember reading (here at the forum) that the AIs put so much importance to cities in vanilla that you could extort all their techs and gold for a size 1 city. Not in peace deal, but if you had captured a city, made peace and then offered the city back to them in trade, the AI would mortgage everything to reacquire a highly corrupt town on the fringes of the empire.

lurker's comment: Is the city above size one? If yes, shell it to size one, and they may be more willing to give it up.

I don't think that is quite the case, but here is what people would do to them. Make a deal for a city where they traded one of their towns to the AI and then either flip it back or take it back.

This the things they wanted to eliminate. So they did. I was in complete accord with that move. Now if it was like Moo, where you capture a place and have a chance of getting a tech, then at least a trade of your town may give them a tech.

As it was they were used like some do with gpt deals. Make the deal and force a DOW or declare breaking the deal.

Who is next, if you are waiting for me, then don't, I'm hoping on and off computers as I can, travelling between hospital and home(s). I was not actually even allowed out of the hospital, but if I leave on my own free will they can't write me out of hospital either - life threatening. So I just visit hospital to eat and do tests.

I Played several turns here, I still consider this to be SG I am part of.

Wow, good to see you guys are still going. I had to completely drop off the radar when school started.

Congratz, people! :D:):goodjob:

Actually, now that I've read this more carefully, I wish you the best, Northen Wolf.

Thanks all, but focus on your current task, free the people of chinese from threat of prehistoric fools(ai).

I should be able to get to this on the weekend.

Short Range Goals
Dominate the world.

Oh! nerovats saved at the start of the turn, not the end.

Excellent job, everyone! I'm glad this one made it home. Very good score for the level.

We sell Silks to Greece for 2 gpt and 30 of 30 gold.

lurker's comment: Erm, pardon me, but what's the point of asking for gpt when you're declaring war the next turn? :p

Nice finish. Still think you should have gotten peace with the Iro, then broken it and won by Conquest, by nice finish anyway. :p

Force of habit, mostly. Just trying to get the best deal possible. And even if it is only for one turn, we do get the gpt for that one turn. The more gpt we have, the less gpt the AI has and the harder it is for them to adjust/make trades/rush units, etc.

I did check for peace with Iroquois, but I could not get the one tile island city as part of the peace trade.

WTG! and it is especially fitting that CBob got the win. You put in a lot time, effort and caring for this one!
