NDNESIV: A New World, A New History

A great start :)

I look forward to stats etc

Woah, my area is tight. Da-hamn.

Although, great preludium Ninja Dude. :) When is the deadline for orders?

I love your context of Sanhoro!

In my civ game, it was a powerhouse, with three flood-plains, 5 Hills, Copper, Iron (!) Gold and two Grassland pigs!

Great Update!

Uhhh, what am I supposed to do for orders? I am a bit confused here as I did not get any stats.

Here is the order format for this turn:

[NDNESIV: Culture Name Orders]
-Movements and Migrations (Tell me where and why your culture's people are moving, if they are moving at all. Note that this is largely peaceful movements.)
-Hostilities (Tell me where your culture's people are likely to invade and why. Also tell me if there is any other culture that your people will actively attack and why.)
-Cultural Devlopments (Tell me how your culture is developing.)
-Religion (Tell me what religions your culture is inclined to following or disliking)

You do not have any stats this turn. You just send orders for your culture.

Edit: Deadline is next Thursday. If I get orders in earlier than that, that's great. I also encourage you to write stories about your cultures. Maybe its about an average farmer, or some grand king. I don't care, just so long as it gives us insight on the different elements and aspects of your culture.

How many "BT's" before we dive into the NES proper?

Deros/Yithi Kingdoms Offers any respectable Onysaberic warband to fight for the Deroite/Yithian Kingdom in exchange for gold.

Sohoi offers the Sadhillim a large sum of gold for each respectable and organized warband.

Yithi offers the Sheol States large sums of gold and ore in exchange for respectable and organized armies to march for the Yithian Army.

The GREAT WAR will soon begin!

-Movements and Migrations: Expand along the river and convert anyone you find
-Hostilities :None, they don't have war god for any of the households to follow
-Cultural Devlopments: They now have a ruling household who is made up 1 person from each caste and is not hereditary. A member of the ruling houshold's sons and daughters go to their parent's original caste. Only women can be a member of this caste.
-Religion: They're going to stick with what they have scince my culture is basically a religon.

Great. Info sent.

Movements and Migrations: Wherever seems logical. We aren't motivated to migrate unless food becomes scarce, or civilization encroaches more than our military can handle. We will seek to control as much of the middle desert as possible though.
Hostilities: Pretty much anyone, but especially peaceful peoples and on behalf of people who pay well. Generally, we will occupy the land in a nomadic, raider way, making occupation next to impossible.
Cultural Developments: Begin to set ourselves up as middlemen merchants between the eastern and western coasts, raiding and stealing from anyone who doesn't pay us either as escorts or as middlemen merchants. Continue raiding tactics, massacre small outlying unprotected towns of those who attempt to circumvent or oppose us. Strategic atrocities, combined with various totemic displays of corpses and piles of bones, against those who try to occupy or act against us should minimize the meddling, given that we don't exactly occupy prime territory anyway.
Religion: Our religion has a massive potential for syncretism. We believe in one otherworldly God, and many lesser deities of this world. Other religions will fit in as gods of this world. Any time we adopt other religions, however, they will fit into our general culture of trying to fool, deceive, trade with, cheat, and generally try to get the better of the lesser gods. That is, our culture isn't prone to actual complete conversion, but religious adoption. Full converts, though rare, will not be persecuted, rather they will be viewed as weak fools who fail to understand the true nature of the lesser gods. As such, they will find it difficult, but not impossible, to advance in Sadhili society.

Ninja, I want his religion. Cheating the gods suits me perfectly. Do it.

-Movements and Migrations: No specifc place, for the Iun seem content to grow along the river. Do not shun mingling with the other cultures and living within the cities of other peoples is allowed so long as the tribesmen do not forget that their hearts, minds, and souls belong to the Scaar'a and that all their actions are to bring glory to the Scaar'a and the ancestors
-Hostilities: The Scaar'a have deemed the Sadhilim fit for hostile action, though war is not the normal pursuit of the Iun they will readily defend their lands. Attack these raiders mercilessly, though do not be foolish to cross into their lands- their lands are their own, as is our land being our own, we only seek to protect what is ours
-Cultural Devlopments: Continue to keep ourselves culturally isolated as we meet these strange foreigners, mix with them and pick and choose those practises that are most beneficial and can increase the Iun's standard of living, but always remember that we are Iun and Iun have loyalties only to the Scaar'a and the ancestors
-Religion: Begin blurring the line between the Scaar'a, the ancestors, and the primordial spirits. A practise should develop where the Iun partake in living ancestor worship, meaning that the Scaar'a have come to not only represent the divine, but everything that ever was and ever will be of the Iun people. The Scaar'a are not just Gods-on-Earth, but the dead ancestors who have returned back to their original homes. Furthermore as the Iun came before all that is these ancestors also are the primordial spirits and by housing them the Scaar'a are embodiments of those monumental elemental forces

EDIT: Also, I'll wait to turn in orders until I'm approved.

To be honest, I had borrowed idea's from a civilization that isn't located right near mine. While I did try and borrow from one near where I was after I realized I was reading the color codes wrong, I'm not sure it'll be "real" enough. I'd rather not redo this tonight, I just thought I'd get this up while I could. If you want me to redo it, or change my location, I can.
Spoiler Jietsaari :
Jietsaari
Location: The bottom right corner of the map, on the left side of the right sea.

Society: The Jietsaari are a people steeped in tradition and ancestry, which has helped lead to a caste system within the individual clans. Family’s banded together years ago when innovation such as agriculture came about. These clans don’t have any real sense unity of their society, but their similarities are unquestionable. The clans(Aari) are ruled over by a king, who’s ancestry is said to trace back to a great conqueror, and a High Priestess, seen as a co-ruler. The King holds absolute power because he is related to the ancient conqueror, and the High Priestess because she is related to his half sister. The caste system goes as follows: Jiet's-Mainly the ruling family, with some prominent scholars in there; Orim's-The Priestesses who commune with their people's gods; Umpatid's- The working class of society, from artisans to merchants, and soldiers to scholars; Kit's- Basically slaves, while the majority of this class is made up of slaves, some members are simply families or people who can't survive without taking on the work of a common slave. The military is an occupation shared by all men of the clan, who are all taught the ways of war. Certain few are trained specially to protect the King and Priestess, the Nariets; they have no job but that.

Lineage: Traced through father, with the exception of the priestess’s and position within the caste system. Jiet’s, direct descendants of the great conqueror; Orim’s, direct descendants of the conquerors half sister; Umpatid’s, related to a distant relative of the conqueror; Kit’s, foreigners and/or have no relation to the conqueror.

Values: Authority, Intellect, Ancestry

Religion: The Jietsaari believe in a world much like their own which is inhabited, and ruled by gods called Fivards. The King Fivard, Jiortos, became intangled in a war with his evil brother, Kititik. When the war became too much for the Fivard’s realm to handle, Jiortos sealed Kititik within an eternal prison, the planet. He then created the great conqueror to watch over the planet to tame certain humans, the spawn of Kititik’s power seeping through the prison, and destroy others. Jiortos created all things along with his other lesser Fivards, and they rule over the Humans souls that have found their way to the Fivard realm. If a soul cannot get to the Fivard realm, it is either recycled into a new body, or devoured by Kititik. Sacrifice is common so as to have Jiortos continue keeping Kititik in his prison. [Expanded later in Story]

Language: The Jietsaari have a language that is primarily spoken, with an alphabet that is reserved for scholars, priestess’s, and the ruling family. Laws are normally based on the opinions of the King and the High Priestess at the time they are required; there is no law for what happens if you kill someone, but the case is presented before the King and High Priestess at which time they determine the punishment based on the circumstances.

Mythos: The Jietsaari believe they are descended in some way from the great conqueror. He conquered all the lands, and all the people, destroyed those he saw as unworthy, and took all those he deemed worthy into his kingdom. When he died the peace he created on the planet was disrupted, his kingdom broke up, and Kititik’s power once again created more unworthy people. The clans now exist not knowing who are the true descendants of the great conquerors kingdom, often fighting themselves when it thought needed, while fighting others.

Economic Base: Bartering, based on the trading between the coastal nations seas and the rare jewels found deeper in the desert and mountains.

Nation names: Qwatuum, Kwator, Kateer, Qwamtuu, Qwamaik, Jirossos

Person Names: The Great Conqueror(m), Girak(m), Fortika(m), Lortos(f), Orhamasihk(f), Qwa(m), Reegal(f), Parti(m), Waquill(m).

Anything else: Clans adapt to their environment. Coastal clans lives are based on trading and sea tech, while desert clans are based on survival, ect.
