Neo Nes Mmvi : Grand Campaign

From Juan Forconessi, President of the Republic of Argentina
To The Leader of Spain

Apparently old age has set upon you, and like many other imperialists, you turn a deaf ear to the voice of the people, the voice that has said they do not want to live under your rule any longer. You may turn down the plebiscite, but that does not mean we will stop fighting for the right of all South Americans to choose their own government and not have one forced upon them by a foreign nation.

From Juan Forconessi, President of the Republic of Argentina
To The Leader of Columbia

A full alliance would be most benefitial to help secure the rights of all people within South America, and to combat the aggresive nature that resides within the Entente.

From Juan Forconessi, President of the Republic of Argentina
To The Leader of Brazil

We wish to improve foreign relations and formally invite you to join in an alliance with Argentina and Columbia, in order to counteract the dvelopments in Europe and free the people of South America from foreign domination.

Notice: As the British Ambassador to Argentina has been dismissed from the country until relations improve, no communications from Britain will be recieved until such time as a British Ambassador returns.

The United States still has no Ambassador with Iran since 1979 and yet diplomatic relations occur between the two.

But this is an alt-hist, and I'm not Iran ;)

we have also dismissed you embassador, he will not be allowed back until you have decided to stop pursing agressive means and when the United Kingdom's embassador is allowed back into your country

From UK:

The United Kingdom has not in anyway acted out towards Argetina, only warned her. Argentina's dismissal of our ambassador has now prompted us to do the same. Argetina is walking on loose ground and unreasonable reaction in terms of international diplomacy will not be unheard.

Until such times that the British ambassador is allowed back into Argentina, Britain is hear-by ending all trade from the United Kingdom to Argentina and vice versa. No Argentinan ships will be allowed within British ports and Argentina's citizens will here-by be dismissed from all British lands.

As we are a civil nation, we hold no wrongs against the British people for their governments actions, and will continue to allow people of British citizenship to reside within and visit Argentina. In addition, private British vessels will still be permited to dock within our ports. Once again, the British people have our sympathies for having such an irrational government.

From Denmark:
To United Kingdom:
We Thank your diplomatic support.... we feel the Russians and Germans care less of our independence.

From Brazil:
To Argentina:
We will stay on the sidelines and wait before we make a decision. Altough our population seems to support you.

From Portugal:
To Spain:
If war does start and Brazil jumps in.... count on us!. We need to show brazil a lesson.... <secret>

Riot Police Protect British Ambassador
La Nacion - February 16, 1926

With a severe deterioration in relations between Argentina and the United Kingdom, President Juan Forconessi asked that the British Ambassador within Buenos Aires leave the nation immediately, along with all embassy staff. The embassy itself has been locked down following all staff despartures.

As news of the British expulsion spread through the nation, large crowds gathered around the Zeppelin departure zone. Hoping to prevent further escalation of the situation, President Forconessi called in riot police to prevent harm from falling upon the Ambassador and staff. Even in full force, the police had trouble controlling the crowds, estimated in the thousands. When they weren't allowed to break the police barriers, they began throwing rocks, paper, and food at the departing Ambassador, taunting him with chants of crushing the imperialists and the rise of South America. Fortunately, the police were able to provide security and protection for the ambassador until he left. It has been reported that a note was given to the Ambassador just prior to his departure from President Forconessi, stating "What you see is the will of the people of South America, something you wouldn't know of. I held them back this time, next time I may not."

We are currently negotiating with the leaders of Denmark, and hopefully we can come up with a treaty that will satisfy all sides.

Your threats against Spain, and frankly they are threats, no matter how you choose to call them, are mad. Any Argentine fomenting of rebellion in Spanish territories will be met by the full strength of Entente. Do not continue to create war where there is no need for one.

Germany has signed the treaty of Copenhagen with the King of Denmark, protecting the independence of Denmark by any means necessary. Our army is on alert to move in if needed.

From Denmark:
To Germany:
Liberty at last!... but in addition to independence, we need the release of the king of Sweden and Norway.

From Juan Forconessi, President of the Republic of Argentina
To Leader of France

Your threats will be dutily noted, and while ours do not even have the hint of a military event taking place, we are shocked that you wish to speak on behalf of your defensive alliance to take action against a nation that has not even taken military action against a member state.

Just as we have done with the United Kingdom, keep your European talk in Europe, for its barbaric and uncivil words are of no value in South America.

Popular dance tune among UCC college students this year:

Hot Chili Pepper! by the Gauchos of the Rio Grande

Swing your partner big strong man
Spin her round 'til she can't stand!
Dance! Dance! To the madness beat
Left, right, and tap those feet!

Slap your fanny and clap your hands,
Follow the lead of that big strong man!
Dance! Dance! To the madness beat
Left, right, and tap those feet!

See all the pretty girls'
Shapely legs when they twirl!
Dance! Dance! To the madness beat
Left, right, and tap those feet!

Slippery hands and she got away--
She's on her own, come what may!
Dance! Dance! To the madness beat
Left, right, and tap those feet!

This wild dance always ended with the girls breaking free of their partners and careening across the dance floor, usually into the arms of some other man. Mostly it was great fun, but on occasion jealousy and short tempers would create ill will, dirty looks and fist fights.
