NES game Concepts for newbies

Each player owns a country, is it played like a PBEM?

Essentially, a game is run by a moderator, with multiple players. There is a given time between updates, during which players interact diplomatically with one another, and write stories if they so choose. After that given time, they submit orders to the mod based on the rules of the NES. These include internal growth, military actions, and so on. The mod then, using all these orders, creates an update which shows how the situation has changed. From there, you repeat.

Own. NES has NOTHING to do with single player, mutltiplayer, PBEM or CIV3 at all... It's here cause the first countries in NES's were only CIV3 countries... now it's somthimes not even real countries! (Antigot, Entira, what else I made up? there was one more... I forgot it's name)

Im lurking here too, for about a week now. Not sure if i should join one as i would like to start a brand spanking new one with somebody start from scratch and learn on the way. Im still trying to grasp these rules though

question:how is it decided how much population, army, confidence, econimy, and education u start out with.Do u have a certain number of EP and u spent it on those things, is it random, does the mod decide?

The mod would decide at the begining of the NES, or when a new person joins, what their stats are.

YAY, I finally understand evrything, except a bit on the subject of how battles work. But the only way to learn that is by playing....

urrr no, I think I was 5th Gen.

Hmm, you're sixth or seventh.

Sixth was... I believe from spring or summer 2005 to the arrival of CivIV, which brought in a new group, who could be called the seventh generation.

I agree with Iggy. I think myself, Iggy, Kentharu, and a couple others (can't think of who right now) would be 6th. Swiss, Harleqin, Justokre, TerisH, Royal, and Azale would be 7th (there might be others, but I can't think of who right now). If you want a list of 7th generation, then all you really need to do is take a look at the players list for my NES.
