NES World/Regional Maps II

this could make an interesting NES map; eiother stand alone, or applied to a larger world map (its taken from the x-pack to the game "Zeus", called "Posiedon"- I highlly suggest it if you liek city-builders at all. you also notice a similarity between how I play NES's and the actions of the Atlanteans through thier foundation through to thier war with the eastern med sea powers (which and I liek this you can play as the atlanteans in oen scenario and win, or as the greeks in another scenario, and win it as them)

this is onyl the far west- no real need to cover any fo the european or med sea colonies and powers; or even the Oceanids and mayans or Atlantean cities.

in fact, i could try to find a blank map of atalatis proper, if anyoen wanted to make the map.

@Drake: The northern little bit of the Byzantine-Sassanid border looks funky. Should be a little to the east...I think.

Greece just looks weird. The gulf of Corinth isn't as clear...it's a better job than I could do, lacking the patience to draw a map from scratch as I do.

Heres a preview of what I've done. This is only Europe, but I've done Arabia, India, and some of south east Asia aswell. As you can see, many areas have been substantially repaired and tweaked, especially the balkans, so that one may actually place nations on the map properly now.

awesoem, but I think your over-emphasizing the features of the Iberian peninsula

Yeah, the Balkans look great, and the rest isn't half-bad, either.

but the rest of it look too...messy i think the word is.
Flat coasts suck! The fact is the world is messy shaped! Accuracy > aesthetic. ;)

It's great, IP. I don't like Scotland and Iberia, but just a few tweaks could fix them right up, and it's otherwise amazing! Norway finally looks REALISTIC.

I also like NK's thinner edges for the map. If only someone could combine the two...

I disagree. Have you tried placing cities accurately in say, Japan on the current map? Absolute nightmare. Moving a flood-fill tool around a bit more to color in a map isn't that big of a hassle, especially when it makes it easier for players to apply real world data (terrain, elevations, etc.) accurately to a situation.

Apparently most people don't actually do that in their orders, but it's nice to give the option. ;)

I was going to translate my Roman Map to Plexus's Europe map, but I got "distracted" and ended up making a new map on his world map with rivers. Guess the date and win brownie points!

Drake, I don't care what the date is; the bit of Upper Michigan sticking into Lake Superior should not be Canadian! :p

My modifed Version of Plexus' map, now with borders. Some Lakes have been moved to fit borders better.

Borders are draw with RGB 51,51,51 so they are easy to remove.

NK, it amazes me that someone could find such a tiny thing on such a big map. But it's fixed. And Canada is British because I had dates wrong, they still have a couple years till they get freedom.
