NES World/Regional Maps III

Dreadnought, you should include north africa and the whole mediterr. otherwise it doesn't compete with warman's excellent, geographically accurate masterpiece!

Here is a variation on the Oddworld map that I initially made for my next NES. I was not quite satisfied with it, and made another (which I will not post, obviously. Gotta use shroud, you see. ;)) Anyway, I thought if anyone else was interested, I might as well post it. :)

It's okay. Land masses are a bit too close to each other uniformally speaking. Like, there are no big gaps, they're all nearly adjacent.

I wanted it to be that way, since the original Oddworld was too big... My other map is about 1/5 the size of this one. Anyway, good that you liked it. :)

I drew it pixel x pixel, so to speak. The original map is Oddworld. I think it was made by some of the old NES Cartographers, not sure which. I just arranged the land masses and drew in the mountains, sorta. Did that answer your question? :)

EDIT: I use MSP!

Here is the world map that I used for IsrNes2, it is basically the same as teh normal one, but the Carribean (in particular the Bahamas and the Isle of Youth) have been tweaked and the Mississippi River Valley tweaked to allow New Orleans to be placed if so desired.

I tend not to like that map as if it were true I would be probably sitting here under about a kilometer of water and not entirely happy with my pruning skin.

Dacia should probably be a civilization by 1 CE. Otherwise, great job

Too bad it would have to be modified to get a good NES. Rome, and to a lesser extent, the Han, are too powerful compared to everyone else at that point in history.

Hmm. Yeah, I missed Dacia. I'll fix that. :)

I really like the time period, actually, and even with the fact that the Romans and the Han are uberpowerful, internal forces and simple distances would prevent a world conquest...

Hmm... Dacia is rather disunited at this time period in history; I'll include them, though mods et al. should keep in mind that this is a period of anarchy.

True, but it's essentially impossible to simulate things like the falls of Rome and Han in an NES as that sort of internal pressure is highly underrepresented in NESes (and PC nations tend not to decay to the point of collapse unless due to external forces).

Plus, Rome's 16 ECs and Han's 10 would keep them afloat. No one else has more than 3.

Vive la Roi de Nord! I hope that you will make further such maps, they would be very useful indeed.

Another correction made: Parthian Arabian provinces did not, indeed, exist. :p Newly uploaded map reflects that.

Next map will probably be 300 CE, which should be relatively easy.

Another correction: what I called Makkura was at this time Meroe. Though this doesn't involve downloading a new map. :p
