There's nothing wrong with those rivers. They are *highly* strategic--I've heard it said that if they were anywhere else in the world, a dozen of the tributaries of the Amazon would be famous rivers--but since they're tributaries, they aren't.
Anyone have a map of the world in 1795, immediately following the opening of the French Revolution but before Napoleon seized power? I want to modify it for a specify alt history idea involving this flag:
Here's another preview. Not totally accurate, but it gets the point across.
The North American area is demonstrative of the type of river coverage elsewhere on the map, excepting Europe, which is mostly empty. As you can see, it provides quite a lot of "pop" to the countries, and cities would be pretty easy to position and view, along with whatever other strategic details one cares to put on it.
For mine,if you still wish to proceed with it. i would like a world much like Earth in terms of land mass to water ratio. One area on the map to be alot like The South Pacific. Loads of islands. A very large continent connected to a smaller one. A few large inland seas. large oceans.
I've been desring a modern NES, with deadly, bio-engineered plauges for a while for some reason...and nuclear wepaons...ah yes nukes, and robots, and clones....without the restrictions OTL modern world. Finally I have found it.
