NES World/Regional Maps Requests Thread

China is the blue of the dragon on the Qing Dynasty's flag because I hate "Chinese Pink".

It really makes more sense to make China orange or gold, and have Spain move to a different kind of yellow.

Tried it, doesn't work so well. North America looks like some kind of traffic sign collision. Your only other real options are to make China red (a different one obviously) and revert Britain to orange, or give Spain's color to China and make Spain some other color entirely.

Some work on the Americas, based on Symph's map.

Could I have a map of the eastern Mediterranean (from Rome west to Kuwait) that is applicable for c. 50 AD to c. 325 AD? I'm thinking of starting my own NES (after my failed attempt of a first one :( which was quite awful)

I wanna work on some mapping skills of my own and work on any project tat may pop up. Anyone have suggestions for programs other then MS Paint that I could use. They must be Mac compatible. I have been considering Photoshop but if there is a cheaper alternative I would like t know.

Well I'm off till Saturday; If anyone finishes this map (and starts adding cities) before I get back, they receive free EC's OR what's in my special mystery box. And trust me, the box is at least as good as the EC's.

I fiddled with the Balkanian borders some; will do more work after the current project has been more finished.

This is mostly done then. To do cities what is basically needed is just a list of city names, and their special status (EC), if any (hopefully separated from ordinary cities). I can then raid the coordinate lists I already have, assemble a list, drop it down, and fill it in, and tweak the map as necessary. Such a process consists (for whomever does it) of looking at the original map and writing down what cities are actually there, and is nothing difficult.

Capitals have been included. Changes from the stats:
  • Capital of Georgia is Richmond, not Charleston.
  • Charleston remains displayed as a normal city.
  • Capital of Fulani Caliphate is Sokoto.
  • Capital of Ethiopian Empire is Gondar, not Addis Ababa
  • Nepal no longer exists.
  • Kathmandu is displayed as a normal city.
  • Purple South African state has no stats.

It looks wonderful Symphy; I'll get started on listing the cities (or delegate the responsibility to someone ;)) ASAP.

Now I have been working just a little on a map for our records should anyone want to create a Middle Earth/Lord of the Rings NES. Now I have only created the coast and filled in both the ocean and coastal waters. What I am posting for is 2 things.

* Show What I am doing
* And ask a couple questions:
1. I want to distinguish between the coastal and deep waters but without a black line. Any suggestions.
2. And also does anyone notice any forseeable problems with the map.

I will keep my work up to date and feel free to bash it praise it or support it.

The original map I am tracing:

I'm not sure if a NES set in Middle-Earth would really work, unless you set it several centuries after the War of the Ring. However, you've done some nice starting work on the map. Props to that. :D

I do know that you might have some trouble in Mordor if this is after the War of the Ring. The eruption might have changed the geography a small bit. Also, Barad-Dur would no longer be standing.
