NES2 VI - Last Semblance of Order.

Russia and Germany have asked for peace. Portugal has a grand total of 4 economy points against 30 for France and 12 for the EUA.

Nah I meant to say I was tired of this colonialism and 1700-1860 scenarios. We need something new, something wild. Not ITNES though.

Silence, Cleric. We need a restart of ITNES, das. ;)

By the way, to make this not spam: I believe there is a simple solution to the madness of an evil empire overrunning all in a cumulative gargantuan nation effect--make newly conquered ECs not produce an economy point until they are assimilated: quite simple, effective, realistic, and stops the uberempires.

I haven't seen Russia ask for anything remotely resembling peace anytime recently. Same with Portugal. Considering how ITNES dragged on and on before BTs resolving even the most terribly minor wars, all this talk is highly against the grain das has previously established.

So your saying empires don't gain any wealth from capturing other nations O_o?

And Portogul stands no chance now....I disagree about eco thing...assimilation takes hundreds of years and even then it may never occur. Look at Quebec its still not assimilated.

Guys, **** you, I thought we all just agreed to stop all this stupid OOC spam. So cut it, and start playing the ****ing game IC.

Transferring economy levels works just as well. Having a trade center still have a crapload of trade going through it despite the surrounding land being pillaged--having iron mines reopen days after they've been shelled, and so on and so forth. It's ridiculous to have things you just captured a year ago at full productivity. You'll need a few years to get things going.

OOC: That's rather an oversimplification. Given Portugal, Spain, and several other powers have been wrecked over the course of this game, one could hardly claim France had the world handed to it on a silver platter. Panda earned this power, and all this "Wah wah, superpowers always win" talk is really quite insulting of the play ability he has demonstrated in leading France to this point.

He has done decently. Mostly, though I think France's dominance was brought about by other players failing to realize what was going on when it was really obvious. When Spain fell to France, there should have been alarm bells going off in everyone's head, but instead everyone kept humming and ignored IP until he attacked each of them, at which point everyone else turned a blind eye. By the time stalin006 realized that someone had to fight France, the only other power left was Russia.

But the fall of France would be rather... pointless. "Ooh, look Panda, you struggled for oh so long and all for nothing, we're essentially starting over!" I think it was a well played NES by Panda et al, and that das should move on to something else. Perhaps even... :mischief:

No need to have them fall. Just weaken them a tad, strengthen other nations a tad, let some smaller nations emerge that have been surpressed in this NES (such as Argentina, Thailand, Korea). Let Spain become independent (as it really would not ever surrender to French occupation), etc.

Annexation of Macao

“It occurs to me, your Majesty, that we have not formalized our control of Macao.”

And, in truth, the Xin Han Empire had not. So, shortly after his return from Tibet, the Hanhua Emperor drafted an Imperial Decree that would formally annex Macao back into China, where it belonged.

"We, the Hanhua Emperor, on this sixth day of the month of February of the year 4 of Our reign, announce that it is Our Will and pleasure to decree, in behalf of the people of China and of Tibet contained within the good and prosperous Xin Han Empire:"

That the territory of MACAO, once acknowledged as a trading port of the Kingdom of Portugal on the shores of China, be now included within the territorial extent of China and thus of the Xin Han Empire unless otherwise decreed and recognized by His Imperial Majesty or his succesors in perpetuum and that the following choices be given to the citizens of Macao:

1) All Portuguese and other European residents of the city are given leave to return to their nation of birth without hindrance from the authorities of the Xin Han Empire
2) All Japanese residents of the city, are given leave to return to the nation of Japan, provided that they abandon all claims to property seized from Chinese citizens during the Chinese Civil War.
3) All Chinese residents of the city are officially granted citizenship of China and thus by default of the Xin Han Empire which rules over it and are thus given the freedom to move as they will within the Xin Han Empire.

His Holy, Imperial Majesty,
The Hanhua Emperor, by the Acclamation of the People,
Sacred Emperor of the Xin Han Empire, King of China and of Tibet,
Lord of Macao, Beloved of the Ancestors,
Head of the Imperial House of Xin Han.

>_>

<_<

I'll be silent until das speaks his mind on all of this.

Yes that was truely pathethic. I thought Portogul would have sides with Spain against France, when it was first attacked. Also the anti-France nations were cursed by people quitting, and not sending orders and such...which badly crippled their efforts.

OOC: Or maybe some people realized it was better to be on the winning team and their nations had more to gain that way, instead of realizing they were in a game. I certainly did, because there is no mysterious "Insane_Panda" leading the Kingdom of France to "Win the Game" whom I must stop at all costs because then the world will spontaneously end if he succeeds. Again, it goes back to actually playing your nation in character, which apparently few people like to do. I have to congratulate Storm, tossi, and Azale amongst a few others actually doing so logically instead of just "zomg stop teh supapowa". I don't recall the whole of the world banding together to kill the UK in 1898 when it stradled a quarter of the world's surface. Did everybody try and gangrape the USA in 1945 when it quite literally held the world in the palm of its hand? It boils down, simply, to who offers you more? I could go on and on about this, but the spam really needs to stop. IC:

TO: Allied Powers, Republic of Greater Germany Russian Union
FROM: Empire of Japan
CC: International Community

The nation of Japan, though not opposed to peace, before signing any ceasefire, standing down any soldiers, or ceasing its military objectives, wishes to make plainly and explicitly clear that it will neither halt combat operations nor engage in diplomatic talks if it feels the slightest perception that this is a ruse designed to secure victory by the Central Powers.

We also refuse to consider negotiations if this is simply a carte blance agreement to restore the status quo. The machinations and plots of the Central Powers cannot go unpunished. In our eyes, the most outstanding of these, but by no means the only ones, are the following:

1.) Germany's clear intention to betray France to Russia following the dissolution of the Confederation of the Rhineland as a good will gesture by France in violation of signed accords.
2.) Both Germany and Russia's continuous attempts to sway various members of the Allied coalition against one another, up to and including Germany's attempts to bribe the Estados Unidos de América and thusly influence France's decision after having initially approached Japan on peace within the past mere hour.
3.) Russia's willing and knowing engagement in hostilities against the Japanese Empire without cause during their "purchase" of territories from Qing China.
4.) Russia's unsolicited intervention in the Sino-Japanese War and its illegal annexation of the greater bulk of western China despite having contributed absolutely nothing to the war effort and not having fired a shot, excepting its actions against Japan.

Without an assurance to negotiate territorial concessions by the Central Powers to redress these issues, amongst assorted others, in the context of pursuing a greater and lasting peace, we flatly refuse to negotiate, as it will simply lead to a resumption of hostilities in the near future. We will not settle for a false peace. These conflicts will end now, one way or the other.

Regardless of what happens in Europe and Asia, I assure you that the Red Stick Confederation will continue making trouble for the French until every last warrior has been killed, and every last village burned. Russia may surrender, but the Red Sticks will not. So I say we keep playing. ;)

Stories and such coming shortly. Also, Das, I'll be sending orders very early, since I too am going on vacation.

Meh, edited. They still descended on that war like a vulture, and that purchase was knowing antagonism given an offer to split that territory up. More than enough casus belli to provoke me in the war against them, and continue it. Russia has in Japan's eyes demonstrated it has no place in the Far East.
