Ashraf Shah knelt before the enormous blue dome, laying honor upon the founder of the country, Mir Wais Khan. He rose, than knelt once more before rising to his feet. His escort, composed of his five bodyguards and a chief assistant, rose after him, flanking his sides. Ashraf turned, looking to the east, in the direction of Kandahar. Turning the otherway he looked at Bagh-i-Kohkran, where this had all began.
~"Ashraf Shah, it is time for your speech," announced an assitant~
He shook his head, realizing his daydream. Approaching the podium he glanced at his papers, his speech written on them, and he tore them up. He glanced in front, their sat the shiekh's, the religious leaders of the Afghan Khanate. Despite his role, they still held their power over the people, but now, a new day was coming, it was time to unify a divided nation.
"Days before coming here, I visited the mausoleum of our Mir Wais Khan. As I payed respects to him and what he did for our nation, I glanced around and saw Bagh-i-Kohkran. It was here as we all know, that Gurgin was slain and freedom was born.
"But, there is only so much freedom can do for a nation, for a people of ourselves. We constantly fall into conflict between tribes, disuniting our people and weakening our lands. For centuries we had been occupied by foreign nations, now it is time for the Afghans to rise above others. Now is the time to unite as one people, one nation, and above all one Allah!"
Ashraf could feel the energy from the mosque rising as he held the hearts of those that watched.
"Insha'Allah¹ we shall prevail where others have failed. We shall continue what Mir Wais Khan set in motion and pay him honor by fulfilling it. The Afghans shall survive and the houses will be united! Bisimi'llah², we shall not fail!"
