The Cairo Agreement​

Prince Grigori Potemkin arrived in Cairo after a relatively short voyage by sea. The heat struck him as unbearable, but he refused to show his discomfort. After the public ceremony Potemkin was finally allowed into the Palace of King Abdul Hosnin, where the shade provided a relief from the burning Egyptian sun. There he was shown to the wing of the palace that was now dedicated to the permanent Russian diplomatic mission in Egypt.

1. In the interest of further cooperation and increasing the ties between Egypt and Russia, Russia will establis a permanent diplomatic mission in Cairo.

2. In order to help the economic development of both nations, and to allow for an easier exchange of goods, trade restrictions on Russian trade in Egypt and Egyptian trade in Russia will be lifted.

3. To assure that both the states of Russia and Egypt remain competative in the world Russia and Egypt will begin a series of joint technological projects in Egypt, and will exchange their respective technological discoveries.

4. To provide security and stability to the region of the Near East and the countries of Russia and Egypt, Russia and Egypt sign a full military alliance and agree to full military cooperation against joint enemies of the two countries.
