Det Kongelige Skandinaviske Ingeniør Korps
The Royal Scandinavian Engineer Corps

It is with great pride and honour that we can announce the formation of the Royal Engineers. This corps will contain the absolute elite of the Scandinavian fighting forces and enable us to rest more easily as their skills in constructing fortifications will make it all but impossible for hostile nations to cause us damage.

Of course, their skills are not limited only to constructing fortifications, temporary or permanent. They are also skilled at setting up traps which will hinder the progress of our enemies and funnel them into our lines of fire, forcing them to attack where we want them to attack.

They have many more skills than this. Whilst they are vital to any defence, their abilities makes them just as vital if we should ever need to go on the offense against a nation threatening our security.

They can aid our troops by building bridges allowing them to move quickly and making sure supplies can easily get to our brave warriors. They can construct defences anywhere giving our troops protection and thus saving lives.

Should we ever find ourselves needing to fight an offensive war, these brave boys of the Royal Engineer Corps will again show their quality. Showing a complete disdain for the enemy they will brave the worst they can throw at us in order to come close enough to clear a path for our troops. Whether it is removing barbed wire under fire, sapping to blow up enemy fortifications or seeking to penetrate enemy lines to blow up valuable enemy infrastructure, these are the men for the job.

The life of a Royal Engineer is filled with danger, but also with glory and honour. Should you wish to join this new unit and fight for His Majesty as one of his elites, then do not hesitate, but contact your local military centre today.

Signed,
Joachim Holstein,
Field Marshall of the Scandinavian Army

OOC: Yes, yes, I know... but it is supposed to be highly propaganda like in order to impress the population. It's just a better version of regular Combat Engineers. Considering how important an issue defence is to my nation, it seemed obvious to have engineers as the UU :p

Arabians have forever been the untameable people. Always struggling like an unbroken horse. Never willing to fall to their captors. Forever they have fought off invaders.

Always since the begining of time they have migrated. The sun rises and sets. Horses built sturdy, hardened by the terrain. Made strong, lead by warlords. They stand as the great wild people of the world. Throughout the ages people all over the world have surcomed to the outsiders, but not the arab people. They fight on. They do not give in for it is in thei blood that they will rise against all odds.

It has proven that as the times shifts, so to does the sand beneath an old man's feet. If he does not move, he will be buried in sand. Forgotten to time. The sand engulf all secrets. It is the arabs who push onward. It is the arabs who must adjust to the coming storms. They move vigorously.

It is an old Arabian saying that has forever been heard by the ears of the ottomans, the portuguese, the Egyptians, the persians, and many others,

"You can take an arabs home, his family, his lifestyle. You can even take away an arab's honor, but there is one thing you can never take away from him. His Pride!"
------------------------------------------------------------------
Now over the sandy dunes marched one man, with one purpose. His face shielded from the harsh sand. His horse walking the lines of dunes. His face was hardened, his beard grizzled and eyes as black as the dark skies. A scar cursed across his right eye.

Many had speculated the man was blinded in that eye, and many men had lost their lives with that bet, for even if he was blind in that eye, his skills were by far the best in all the lands.

He did not claim to be a prophet, nor any man sent by allah. But men could avert their gaze upoin the man's face. He was wise. Some even said he had lived for over a hundred years and been at every great battle of the century.

He was now seen as the uniter of the north, the south awaited his coming. The tribes gathered at the oasis. Joined by their tropical friends they lay awaiting his coming. On a grand horse he sat. A black arabian stallion stood before them.

He had come. Finally he had come to unite them. He had given hope to those who thought the days of great arabian unification was over. But he was there. The man of the north had come. The Sheikh had come. To many,God had come.

He spoke and the hushed silence around such a man, was chilling, and yet beautiful at the same time. Time stopped. Even the ceaseless wind and whirling sand stood still for the time he spoke.

Was he to become, or already was, the Lord of the Sand...

Pear-hee :p (though the h is slightly silent)

Actually, I'm not sure that it's actually an 'h' sound now, having repeated it a number of times out loud. It certainly isn't produced the same way as a normal 'h' but by speaking the 'r' from deep in the throat.

Anyway. Orders are on their way.

Wubs, amazing story

Orders sent, and most amazing UU ever i have created. Listen to this name....

The Stay-at home Civil and Domestic Security and Defense Guard

J'ai envoyé les ordres.

(Note, this was google translated, but I speak a bare minimum of French, and it seems to be right. :p)

*reads through his Pile of Orders*

*rubs hands*

This shall be a very interesting turn indeed - and I didn't even get orders from several great powers yet!

EDIT:

Sending orders das.

I hate it when you penguins are so literal...

Curious. How's it an interesting turn? :hmm: Actually, don't answer that; I'll worry too much. DON'T EVEN IMPLY IT!
