Kira began to panic, as laser shots from the planet began to hit the ship.

"What the hell is going on!" cried somebody he didn't recognise.

"I DON'T KNOW!" cried Tagero.

Nobody had expected this- all scans had shown this planet was abandoned. Scanners had been continously operating for years now- there was no way they could miss defences this big!

"Get to your stations!" cried Tagero, hoping to instill some calm in the panicked crew. But his efforts were in vain- screams were coming out from the deck, as even the "disciplined" mercenaries degenerated into blind panic.

Joso began to run for the escape pods- even he was panicked now. Soon a torrent of bodies began to swarm in the escape pod's general direction, motivated only by blind terror. Strugling against the weight of the man behind him, Kira realised danger wouldn't have to wait for the enemy. "KAKRIAK! KAKRIAK!" he cried...

I'm currently updating the Alternate Timeline thing. I still haven't done much drawing for this update yet, so... not any time soon .

By the way, I hope you all know that stories about things happening in space won't neccessarily affect actual game, especially if they don't relate to the actual species on the planet. Its fun to read them though

Role: simple land scavenger/plant
Habitat: warm land
Survival Status: Thriving
Genes (10): Photosynthesis x2, Water Retention x2, Acid x1, Spikes x1, Mass Reproduction x1, Scavenging Roots x1, Large Size x1, Nectar x1, Sticky Spores x1
Description: As the Jubblera species reduced the numbers of small scavenging animals in the jungles and forests, Chungus was able to thrive and diversify. The Greater Chungus also appeared during the Oolian era. It became associated with hives of Jubblera Gardinice and Fatrolis. It tended to grow in the refuse dumps of the hives, full of rotting excrement and corpses which its roots could scavenge. It began to produce small droplets of nectar to encourage the Jubbleras to look after it, instead of trying to remove it. As it grew up to the sunlight, it also provided a little extra defence for the hive with its spikes. The roots of the Greater Chungus no longer provide any kind of movement. It remains fixed in place, but its spores have become sticky, so that they may be carried away by passing Jubbleras to far-away places.

Description: The Wardus has developed for millions of years in close symbiosis with various species of hiving Jubblera, and is now highly specialized to live only in this relationship. Its roots are extremely effective at harvesting all waste within the hives, and tough photosynthetic fronds extend out of holes in the upper hives. The Wardus excretes nectar for food, and acid for consumption for combat purposes (for some species), and tunnelling for others. Most interestingly, when a frond is eaten off by predators (which is rare due to the defense of the Jubblera), it will regenerate as a hard, slightly photosynthetic plate, greatly assisting the defenses of the Hive.
