NESLife attempt #3

they weren't intended to be deadly. well, not directly. the main threat they pose is the striping of vegetation around them. with insatiable 24/7 apatites, they could render large areas of vegetation destroyed.

they are an anoyance. now the weponized versions of them, they are the real threat.. heh heh heh.

lol np about changing "anchors" to "roots" that was my plan anyways, to eventually have them evolve into roots, but i guess right now they don't do so much mineral extracting as just holding the plant in place ;)

and feel free to change any of the genes i put up in the future to what they should be if they're to similar to something else :)

and btw how do you write a story for a species?

Nature-documentary style works well. Alternatively, use a Steve Irwin clone if it's a dangerous animal.

Spoiler :
Amacilndasa Lethianthansus Pacifistimus: Slavic Sioux
Evolved from: Amacilndasa Gigantocalcis
Genes (15): Digging x2, Plankton Eating x2, Shell x3, Eating Dead Things x2, Complex stomach x3, Jaws x1, Fangs x1, Large Size x1
Description: An enlarged version of the Musculares, with an even stronger shell - very few predators of the time had any hope of injuring a fully grown adult. However, due to its more primitive plankton-filtering and digestion organs, it could take many decades for a young hatchling to reach full size.

Amacilndasa Gigantocalcis Vegatus : Slavic Sioux
Evolved from: Amacilndasa Lethianthansus pacifistimus
Genes: + Eyes x1, + Complex stomach x1, + Plant eater x1,
Description: Unlike members of the previous group this animal is actually able to see things with relative ease, as well as being able to eat much more efficiently with both plants and other material. As a result of, being able to see food items, and thus take the food as it moves by.

Spoiler :
Caveworm: RFHolloway
Evolved from: hiveworm
Survival Status: Competing
Genes (20): Digging x2, Water Retention x 2, Crawling x 1, Eating Dead Things x2, Mass Reproduction x1, Jaws x2, Communal Behaviour x4, Plant Eating x2, Complex Stomach x1, Smelling x1, Scent Glands x1, Cold Resistance x1
Description: The caveworms continued to develop from their more primitive ancestors by dragging food back to their burrows, sometimes working together to achieve this. Due to their small size the food was typically either dead, or plant life, but still provided a store of food when conditions outside got tough. Their name comes from the larger food storage areas which resembled caves rather than the tunnels of their more primitive ancestors.

Cavebug
Evolved from Caveworm
Genes Large sizex1, Parenting instinctx1, Crawling x1.

The cavebugs were considerably nastier than their more primative ancestors. They had grown fiercer, with some members spending much time actively hunting for food while others would spend time caring for the young. The eggs would now be laid inside dead or dying bodies of other organisms. The decompostion would provide a ready source of food, and also some additional warmth from the decomposition process. The bugs also got better at crawling, using their increased speed to swarm any other organism that was not a caveworm, bringing animals down with thousands of nasty bites before dragging them back to the main cave. Plants would also suffer with roots or leaves being gnawed off the main plant, and dragged back to the cave complex together with any other fallen leaves or twigs that might provide nutrition.

Mimicalegger: erez87
Evolved from: Burial Legger
Survival Status: ?
Genes (19) : Skeleton x1, Jaws x1, Plant Eating x4, Swimming x1, Eyes x1, Water Retention x2, Lungs x3, Walking x4, Burrowing x2
Genes added (3) Scent production x 1, Flesh eating x 1, Complex stomack x 1
Genes removed (3) Burrowing x 1, Plant Eating x 1, Walking x 1

The Mimicalegger could release hormones, cloaking its appearance so that to other species it would appear harmless. No longer did it fight for burrows, it simply joined others. To species with poor senses it could even join in..raiding caveworm stores, getting sweat treats from the Terrarytes, ans suckling up to the Nest Fanel. It also because quite temped by the scourge eggs and enjoyed this boon. Gaining flesh eating meant it could also pop off the occastional weakling or elder discovered in these communal caves. This increased reliance on others and its life underground means it loses several genes, making the creature more efficient.

The Burial legger is in Faliciria so there are no Nest Fanels or most of the animals you wrote into the Mimiclegger info.

Oh and it's yours not mine ;)

As a side note, why are everyone always trying to evolve predators that eat meat? We had eras where there were more predators species than grass eating ones... Its starting to be like a world where everyone eat everyone in never ending forests...

Genes Added (4): Walking x2, Communal Behaviour x2
Genes removed(0):

Bipedal Leggger: erez87
Evolved from: Pre Legger
Survival status: ?
Genes (17+4): Skeleton x1, Jaws x1, Plant Eating x4, Swimming x2, Eyes x1, Water Retention x2, Lungs x3, Walking x5, Communal Behaviour x2
Descriptions: At the end of The Snoscapian Era the old Pre-leggers were becoming more and more endangered. Fewer and fewer skeletons were found, and actually from that era only 2 full skeletons appeared in Falciria. The Burial Legger seemed like the end of that species. Yet a new species appeared in the next era. As it seems this new Legger begun using its tail to be able to walk on two legs along with starting to form large groups. They didn't take care of their offsprings or shared food much but just packed in very large numbers as they moved across the land in large groups eating plants all over Falciria.

Spoiler :
Land Spinaneraria: Fuschia
Evolved from: Spinaneraria
Survival Status: Thriving
Genes (28): Swimming x3, Plankton Eating x4, Insect Eating x6, Exoskeleton x1, Spikes x1, Silk Production x2, Smelling x2, Eyes x1, Cold Resistance x2, Water Retention x2, Tentacle x2, Lungs x1, Crawling x1
Description: Externally little different from its predecessor, the Land Spinaneraria's only major visual deviance was the internalization of its modified flotation sacs. These sacs, originally used to metastasize hydrogen, made a switch to become full-blown lungs, allowing survival outside of the water, although the Land Spinananeraria still retained its swimming and plankton eating capabilities. To adapt to the rigors of life on land and the dropping temperature, the Land Spinaneraria also added an additional layer of protection from the cold. Staying close to the water so as to supplement its main diet of insects with plankton, it colonized those areas close to rivers and bodies of water already filled with Spinaneraria, although its cold protection allowed it to survive in notable colder areas than its ancestor.

Arboreaneraria : tuxedohamm
Evolved from: Land Spinaneraria
Gene added (you can add 3, or 4 with bonus): climbing x1, water retention x1, eyes x1
Gene removed (optional, remove up to 3 or 4 with bonus): Plankton Eating x2
Description: The Arboreaneraria has begun climbing into trees using it's tentacles and legs. It's improved eyes have made the task easier and it's adapted to remain away from water for longer. It no longer relies on plankton unless absolutely desperate, choosing instead to stay in the trees.

Cool stuff!

@Abaddon, Im not sure scent production can be quite a big advantage as that. Just to give you a warning, it might not be as useful as you hope.

BTW, the Nest Fanels may get spread from island to island, and eventually to Falciria, by creatures eating their fruit and 'discarding' the seeds somewhere new.

It's true for all Burrowing Scuterids. Of the surviving species, only the Saaranix, Gregarix and Velocirix can smell. Pondurytes and Millipods can smell as well, but only underwater.

Carnyte : Lord_Iggy
Evolved from: Terraryte
Genes added: Flesh Eating (up to x3), Poison (up to x2), Claws (up to x3)
Gene removed: Plant Eating (down to x0)
Description: The Carnytes are even more dangerous descendents of the Terrarytes. They are better-armed to take down larger animals, and more capable of extracting nutrition from them due to their digestive systems now being specialized for breaking down meat.

Mini Bathystower: bestshot9
Evolved from: Bathystower
Survival Status: ?
Genes (9): Mineral Eating x1, Pressure Resistance x1, Eating Dead Things x1, Small Size x1, Heat Resistance x1, Larval Stage x1, Resistant Larva x1, Plankton Eating x1, Nerve Net x1
Genes removed: Large Size x1
Genes added: Small Size x1, Larval Stage x1, Resistant Larva x1, Plankton Eating x1, Nerve Net x1
Description: With the sudden appearance of the Yellow Bathystower, the true Bathystower finally found itself in competition. To better adapt to this new rival, the Bathystower was forced to shrink down into a smaller size so that what few nutrients it could continue to get would be more effecient. They also seemed to have developed a larval stage, something not seen in previous Bathystowers, including the Yellow Bathysplate. The larva was also very resistant to different enviroments and, unlike the adult form which was a detrivore as well as mineralvore (?), the larval stage swam up to the surface for a while to feed on plankton, storing as much energy as it could before swimming back down to the bottom in search of more deep sea vents to plant itself in, and grow a new Mini Bathystower. With this new and added ability, plus a very perimitive nerve net in the larva, it was more likely that the Mini Bathystower would be able to find a more secluded, less contested vent to grow up at (it could tell water temperature changes by the nerve net), helping to ensure its survival, and since it was smaller, more Mini Bathystowers would be able to populate the area, ensuring better odds of reproducing, but the adult forms would not have the added benefit of the nerve net found in the larva.

Hello, I am new to this website and this forum interested me so I would like to give it a shot.

Bariothorim: Nailix
Evolved from: Saaranix
Survival Status: ?
Genes (26): Crawling x2, Plant Eating x4, Complex Stomach x2, Exoskeleton x2, Communal Behaviour x2, Water Retention x3, Lungs x2, Cold Resistance x1, Eyes x1, Walking x3, Brain Power x1, Live Young x1, Smelling x1, Vibration Sense x1, Hooves x1, flesh eating x1, eating dead things x1
Genes Removed: Claws x3
Genes Added: Hooves x1, Plant Eating x2, Communal Behavior x1.
Description: The Bariothorim has evolved from the Saaranix, during its evolution it just about lost all ability to digest meat/flesh and turned into almost a full time herbivore (the +2 plant eating). The reason it had evolved in such a way was because it had been out classed by the other predators, and so began to fill the role of an herbivore. It lost its claws and evolved hooves, so it can run faster (the +1 hooves) and it can kick away predators easier. Its stomach changed completely so it became more complex to handle the newly acquired plant diet. During its evolution it became more of a herd animal so its communal behavior skills have been enhanced so they can worn its herd of any predators and work together better to find food.

I accept it won't be perfect, I was waiting for you to pick which creature it worked best with, then launch into some co-evolution.. :p at several people trying to poo poo it not realising that!
