Who is Abbadon?

Good question... I was talking to my imaginary friend, obviously.

The things on which I was talking to my imaginary friend Abbadon can be used by everyone who reads them, in regards to this NES, however. ;)

Oh cool, it seemed like a note I might find useful myself!

It is funny to see that you have almost the same exact name as my imaginary friend. Perhaps it is fate that I would have said something extremely useful to you, just as I was talking to my imaginary friend!? Surely there are forces here at work that cannot be explained by logic.

Vassals

Pride, power, and the fallen angel that cast the Devil into hell, rather than a Mob Boss with a love of Abba...

Right oh then I guess. Seeing as we have a slightly different map now, guess I must make bold to change my capital to Narbonne, which is I belive 57.

Yeah, sorry about that icy... I'm still not sure what to do about coloring the factions on the map... I'm thinking that I shall only color factions that are played by PCs, and important NPCs.

So, when is this going to start?

Yeah been wondering that myself.

Hmm well the French people may have not known they were French but the lords would have and if the Brittan's didnt pledge allegiance to the King then they sure as hel arent French and should not be playable as the Germans, Spanish, italians and English arent despite them being 'important in France's history'

The South of France has more in common with Spain and the Pyrenees than Northern France, linguistically, historically and culturally. A fair chunk of it were vassals of Aragorn for quite a while to. I'm also fairly sure at this stage that 'swearing vassalage' is far removed from tangibly aiding the Crown when the **** hit the fan, ya know the distance (8 months to a year probably more at this stage), the language barrier (it wasn't common for the nobility of the South to speak French, Latin was the lingua franca), the utter impossibility to impose oneself down there for any stretch of time and the totally different culture. The king is merely the largest landholder with some fancy rituals and a bunch of fractious nobles of varying degrees of power and loyalty jockeying with him for influence :p

Linguistically I don't think French existed as a language per say or Dutch for that matter one would need to look up what they were called at the time :p

French didn't exist at this point, in a widely spoken form, any more than English did. However, we seem to be using French anyway.

House of Tolosa-Lengadòc in French Toulouse-Languedoc
Head of Household: Clemont-Ferrand Frédéric-Auvèrnhe
Language: Occitània

All Occitània in origin. Speak for yourself :p

By rights Latin should be the language that is held in common.

Note: It only takes 5 minutes to wiki up some appropriate names from the list of say Basque speakers (look for funny letters like à to assist in telling if someones name is French or Spanish in origin).
